This would make them a lot more fun, and I can imagine rabbit hunting areas popping up on servers such as Mindcrack, along with competitions. They should also make them more common I forests.
This would either require a ridiculous amount of block states, or turning slabs into tile entities, which would cause lag.
Glass seems too fragile make slabs out of, and clay slabs would be nice, but it would require (I think) 64 new block states, even without your first idea.

If this were possible without a lot of lag, it would be a really good suggestion.
Since this forum editor is so terrible, and doesn't allow me to quote 6 people at the same time, I'm going to be doing this the old way:
@Shady_Vagabond
They do spawn in swamps, as well as jungles, and roofed forests. I'm not sure quite what you mean by the poison rafflesia. Does it replace the purified rafflesia, and attract slimes? The only reason I added the purified one is because some people might want the block, but not lots of zombies. I don't get the thing about zombies and the moon cycle. I was thinking of it being able to be used as a cauldron, but I'm still not sure whether it's a good idea. I think about it.
@ironsloth1993
Thanks for the support, and yes it is the flower that smells like rotten flesh, which is why it attracts zombies.
@ThePhysician2000
Not sure why bats swarming it would be useful. Give me a good reason and I'll add it.
@coolreader18
Not sure quite what you mean by they will eat it, but I don't like the sound of getting infinite rotten flesh so easily. Well, they have to be attracted to it for some reason. Plus, it could be rare, and rotten flesh isn't exactly OP, is it? Should they make it drop diamonds? And you're probably going to use the unpurified one for a mob farm anyway.
@Dormentality
I would agree with this first part, but rafflesias are rootless flowers. Although, your second part about picking up the flower with shears was an idea on how to get a purified one, but not on vines.
While it does grow on vines in real life, minecraft's vines aren't quite the right type for a flower so large. I was thinking that a way to farm them would be good on the other hand, but I don't know quite how they should be farmed.
@Kili444
I have a few different ways that a purified rafflesia could be acquired. Bonemeal was one of them. As mentioned elsewhere, picking one up with shears was another. As badprenup mentioned, Sugar isn't actually a bad idea. Or I could just change it so that it returns the flowerpot. Maybe a poll is needed. It would probably attract from the same distance as a cow is attracted to wheat.
Despite being very vague, I actually like this suggestion. Maybe rather than steak, you could get burnt steak, which heals a hunger point less and has a 3% chance of setting you on fire when eaten. The nether isn't supposed to be that easy. It could also rarely drop a bull's horn, which when blown (right-clicked and held down like a bow) would scare off passive mobs in a 50 block radius, currently non-agressive neutral mobs in a 25 block radius, and currently aggressive neutral mobs and hostile mobs in a 10 block radius. Scare means cause the mobs to walk away from the player and not come within the radius of their mob type.

This is balanced and would improve Minecraft by using it the ways listed.
