    Lava Breach :Lava: :Lava: :Lava:

The workers and managers of the underground office building have gone missing. Some say plague killed them, others say murder was the culprit. You have been assigned to find out the answers; What happened to the people at the underground offices?

    DOWNLOAD

    Pics:

    A deserted hall.

    A deserted eating hall.

    LAVA!

    Important Info:
Before you go and download the map, here's some info you should pay attention too:

-Gold, the worker's currency. Gold ingots are scattered around the building, and the more you have, the higher your score.

-Make sure you look for and check EVERY chest, as the completion of failure of the map is dependent on the items you have.

-No mods were used in the making of this map.

    - This map is best used with the
    SubtleCraft texture pack.

    RULES:
No breaking or placing blocks, unless told to do so.

If you die, it's highly recommended that you restart the map.

*** This is my first map ever uploaded to the public, and therefore it is sort of small and easy to finish. I would very much appreciate all critique and feedback. If you liked the map, tell your friends. I made this map also for youtuber IhasCupquake, so you can tell her too. I hope you enjoy the map and thank you already for reading this. :smile.gif:***

posted a message on 1.8 Updates: New Mob...Revealed?
So it seems they are a night time only mob. They also seem to spawn in treeless environments. They are able to break and take sand and dirt blocks. Its assumed they will be able to destruct/construct blocks and buildings. I agree with Sneaky Chicken and this mob is something you should keep your eye on. But its unknown if they die in sunlight as spiders and creepers don't.

If people get bored pretending, they need to stop playing Minecraft. The whole thing relies on pretending there's a point.

Plus nobody pretends to farm for a meter. They actually do farm, for the sake of having food to heal with.

Yes, but maybe people won't just stop playing because there is nothing to play. Maybe turning pretending into something real will get people in Single and SMP to play longer.

Oh and with this idea, people will farm for hunger too, not just to heal, which is why farms would get abandoned, becuz people who have good armor will get hurt less and therefore need less food.

I think waves like Strottinglemon's are great, but destructive waves, not so good. There are barely oceans in Minecraft anyways. so smaller waves are better.

If people want to live in lasting cities, they will. If they don't, they obviously didn't want to. If they have the choice and cities are abandoned, then obviously that's the choice they made.

Say this idea gets added: If people want cities, they'll have them. If they don't, they'll turn off the option. It's the exact same thing as now except instead of just up and leaving, they'd have to screw around in the options menu first. How would this make anything different beyond attaching visible meters to it?

I don't really know, it's just an idea. But what I think will happen is people will actually hunt and gather water, etc... instead of just building single homes. There will be more boost to city making too, instead of just pretending a hunger meter will be there. In my idea, it will boost city making, because people get bored having to pretend to farm and gather water for a nonexistent meter.

This is a mod request: I feel that Minecraft and Minecraft SMP isn't made for city making or rpg-ing. I think that a few add-ons/mods would make cities and towns have more purpose.

    The add ons are:

    A Hunger Meter
    A Thirst Meter
    A Social Meter

They are similar to the sims, but dont assume thats what it will be.

Because of hunger, players will hunt and farm more often, and will hunt and farm for others too, creating markets and farmlands, plus grocery stores, were players could charge others for bread and meat.

Thirst will cause people to gather water and make buckets, creating water jugs and fountains for people.

A Rest meter was thought of, but that would conflict with the rule that everyone in SMP has to sleep, so forget about that.

Social needs would cause players to live near eachother. Social needs are fulfilled by players simply standing within a certain radius of eachother, and chat is up to them.

^^^With all of these, cities would be created and would serve a purpose. The cities would not be abandoned within three months.

Anyways, what do you think? Please comment.

EDIT: A lot of people, and I, would agree that this would be better a plugin, and a plugin that could be toggleable and fully optional. Or the plugin that could be an added dificulty level. Like a 'Hardcore' mode.

Each individual need can also be toggleable, like in Single player, people only have to worry about hunger and thirst, not social.

If you are fully against RPG elements in Minecraft, or don't like this idea at all, then this isn't the topic for you.

these suggestions make no sense to me what so ever. I completely understand how Hunger and Thirst would make sense in SURVIVAL mode, but online? (i refuse to call minecraft a RPG, it is not.) Social meter is just kinda pointless. "Hey guys my meter is going down stand next to me!" lolwut?

This would also interrupt actual RPG videos of minecraft, like yogcast.

A lot of servers would enjoy this mod, and since its Optional, servers based upon PVP wont have to deal with it. And during yogcast videos it would be turned off.

While the idea of making Minecraft more RPG like, I like being able to have the ability if I want to on my server, to make up my own lore and get RPG plugins. I wouldn't want Vanilla Minecraft like that.

Yeah, thats my idea too. Thats why I thik it would be optional, especially for single player.

I love the hunger and thirst meter ideas, but social may not count. If I am out in the wilderness trying to survive, the last thing I would do is look for someone to talk to :smile.gif:

Well social in single player could be out, but in SMP it would fit.

I agree. I think this is a good idea, but one that should be something you can toggle, not something forced upon you. Although I think this might be a better idea for a plugin than a full-on patch, as you said.

Thank you. I think that a mod will be good, because then it would be toggleable and therefore optional, unlike if it were a patch, maybe not so optional.

    Maybe toggleable in the server.properties.

Yeah, that too. It could be a totally optional thing, and maybe not at all in Single Player.
