    IGN: Matterbound
    Name: Mike
    Age: 16
    Gender: I'm a male diamond!
    Location: Ohio, USA

How long have you been playing Minecraft?
I've been playing Minecraft since In-Dev, so nearly 3 years now! I know pretty much everything there is to know about the game, as I've "been around the block" a few times. In the past, I've run servers of my own, though the whole management thing gets a tad overwhelming at times. Now I just want to relax and play some Minecraft.

What would you say is your favorite thing to do in Minecraft?
My playstyle is quite casual, and about as far from "hardcore" as you can get. I do get a bit OCD about my architecture, but other than that, I'm pretty calm and fun to be around. I quite enjoy building, but only after I've got myself geared up with diamond armor and tools. After that, I'll usually start building bigger projects, towns, houses, farms, etc.

How do you describe maturity? And by that definition, how mature are you?
Maturity is knowing when to draw the line. How far to take a joke. Your maturity is easily read by most other mature people, whether it be online, or in real life. As cliche as it sounds, treat other people the way you wish to be treated. If you wish to be treated poorly, then there are places you can pay women to make that happen, although Minecraft is not one of those places.

Why does this server interest you?
This server interests me because it seems friendly. I tend to treat Minecraft as a place to make friends while playing a game. Sort of like playing in the sandbox as a child. You would go there to not only build things out of sand, but to talk to the other children and have fun.

    What languages do you speak?
I speak mainly English, though I have taken Spanish courses in the past and can decipher sentences if I need to.

What's your most favorite thing you've ever built?
Unfortunately I cannot provide a screenshot of any of my builds, as I'm not one to save any. I tend to build farms, houses, and towns when starting on a new world/server, and then move onto bigger builds. Sometime during Minecraft Alpha, my friend and I built a 3:1 (Yes, 3:1, not 1:3) scale model of The Pantheon which was quite impressive. I of course took screenshots of it, but over the years I have lost them.

What do you want in a server?
Besides the obvious things such as "no griefers" and "little lag", I want a server that is friendly. As a server is a community over everything else, I feel that friendship is important among a server's members.

And lastly, have you ever been banned before?
It would be foolish to think that at some time during my 3 year Minecraft career I haven't been banned. I'm sure that at some point I made an immature server owner angry, or something of the like, but I have never griefed a server, or intentionally misbehaved in any way to get myself banned.

Even though I'm not technically an adult, I feel that I'm much more mature than most other people my age.

When I mean leave my account alone, I mean stuff like, you know, not having enough money to pay for internet/electricity for computer and/or getting kicked out of house for lack of money.
That sort of stuff. Tough times.

I'm sorry if this sounds rude, but if you're homeless/without electricity for a year at a time, wouldn't you have bigger issues than keeping a Minecraft username? I can see the point you're trying to make, though your own individual case seems like an uncommon one. Most people, even if they have to take a one, two, three, etc, year long break from Minecraft, would surely be able to log into your account at least once a year.

For instance, there are public libraries with internet access all across the United States where you could log into your Minecraft account from www.minecraft.net. I'm not sure if you live in the US, though I would assume there is most likely something similar where you live.

My point is, if you care about keeping your Minecraft name enough, there is most likely a way for you to get internet access at least once a year. I hope I didn't sound to mean, I'm just defending my suggestion. I feel like it's a good one, so I have to stand up for it, eh? :)

I don't support this because sometimes I have to go on massive hiatuses, and the email I entered was wrong, AND I can't change it because of mojang requiring me to go onto the nonfunctioning email to change things.

For one, even if you had to leave your account alone for an entire year, would you not have 30 seconds to login and log back out? This seems like a rare case. Secondly, Mojang's account functions work perfectly fine for me. I'm sorry you are having such troubles. Try going to the support forum and posting exactly what happens when you try to change your email linked with your account.

I still don't understand how that would work?

*John buys Minecraft and gets email from Mojang*

Thank you for purchasing Minecraft, John! You can download the game client at http://www.minecraft.net/.

Your account info is as follows:

    Username: John
    Password: kittens123
Account ID: 123456 (Randomly assigned by the system at registration. Like a Steam ID.)

Please write down your Account ID for future reference as it will be used to log in if your username becomes inactive in the future.

Thank you for purchasing Minecraft and have a great day!

    -Mojang

    Not actually from Mojang...

    ----------

Say John goes to play Minecraft in 2 years and tries to log in like this:

    Username: John
    Password: kittens123

The Minecraft client would respond with:

*bleep* Your password is incorrect. Please enter your Account ID and your password. *bloop*

John enters 123456 (his Account ID) and kittens123 (his password)

*bleep* Your username has been inactive for: [12] months. Please choose a new username. *bloop*

John picks the unused username Johnny and then uses that to log in.

    ----------

    Make sense?

    It should be always refunded.

Or maybe you could be given your account ID (discussed previously) when you register, so you can use that to log in and pick a new username even if someone takes your very old one? Sort of like an authenticator for MMOs.

Added this to the main post:

Something that probably should happen to prevent an increase in griefing is that a specific number be linked to every account, sort of like a world seed, but for accounts. So by typing "/id Bob", you would get a response saying "Bob: 123456". That would give everyone different names above their heads and in chat, but prevent griefing from increasing!

I remember seeing a while back that Mojang would love to add the ability to change your in-game name instead of having to purchase an entirely new account.

If this is added (or even if it isn't) I think it would probably be a good idea to have account names (In-game names) be wiped after a certain amount of time being inactive. (Possibly 12 months/1 year?) Since a lot of people already use their email to login, (Mojang ID) a message could be given to these people if they ever log in again instructing them to pick a new in-game name.

Now, I am most certainly NOT trying to rob people of their well-loved usernames. The state of the matter is that "survival mode" is more than 3 years old at this point and a lot of usernames are taken and are no longer being used. The details would obviously have to be worked out by Mojang, but I feel this would be beneficial to people looking for a snazzy new name.

Something that probably should happen to prevent an increase in griefing is that a specific number be linked to every account, sort of like a world seed, but for accounts. This would be a global ID for each account. So by typing "/id Bob", you would get a response saying "Bob: 123456". That would give everyone different names above their heads and in chat, but prevent griefing from increasing!

    Further explanation of Account IDs.

tl;dr - Mojang, please add the ability to change your in-game name and wipe inactive accounts' usernames (keeping their emails and playing ability) after 12 months or so. Also add a "player account seed".

If you're looking for a good SimCity to tide you over until the new one, try SimCity 4 Deluxe! It's a pretty solid city-simulator, even though it's getting a bit dated these days.

Thanks guys. I'm not a person who needs a CRAZY good computer. I don't need to run battlefield 3 100+ fps
    But thanks for helping :)

Look. If you don't build it yourself, you're going to be spending another $1,300 (or more) in the next couple of years just to play new games. Build it yourself. I built my first rig in about 1-2 hours. It isn't that hard.
