    Quote from The_Carnifex

    You can write this algorithm yourself using Java's Random.

    I'll give you a quick start:
    public int idDropped(int par1, Random par2Random, int par3)
    		{
    				// create a random number between 0 and 100
    				int rand = par2Random.nextInt(101);
    				// if random number lower than 21 drop something
    				if(rand <= 20)  {
    						return <yourblock>;
    				} else {
    						return <yourblock>;
    				}
    		}

    I prefer single line:

    public int idDropped(int par1, Random par2Random, int par3)
    		{
                    //20% = 1/5 chance
                    return (par2Random.next(4) == 0 ? Block1 : Block2 );
    		}

    This is the code compacted.

    Your welcome.

    posted a message on [mcp] How would I determine what block a player is looking at?
    Quote from BrightOne

    The only thing I can think of is that Endermen react when you look at a certain block (their head). Could you do something similar to that?

    Well, I haven't checked the code for the endermen, and I don't have the code accessible to me right now, but I'm assuming its using the getTarget method or something similar found in the player class that returns and entity or vector. I'm not entirely sure how to go about doing this even though I know a method to get the vector the player is looking at.

    posted a message on Eperian Palace
    Hi, i'm coder13. A long while ago, I posted A build I made for my voxelbox greylist application (I hope i'm getting terms right). I took quite a break playing survival. My favorite server went down, I got onto another server but after pretty much being able to survive, I got bored. So I got back on the voxelbox. My first 2 builds went down the drain with, "its too small", "no 3d effects". I got angry, but I took the advice, I took it hard. And this is what I came up with.

    This is the overall view of it

    Overall view.

    Side view.

    Interior shots.

    Here is what you see when you walk in.

    When you look up.

    A Hallway.

    A small Bedroom (for the sons and daughters)

    The Master-Bedroom. (I know, lots of empty space)

    Another shot of it.

    Upstairs.

    The view of the stairs from the top.

    View of the top of the stairs. Wasn't sure what to put there so I put some potted plants. the rooms left and right are guest bedrooms. And the middle is a observatory/library.

    The ceiling design.

    Guest Bedroom.

    Observatory/library.

    The view when you look up. Being that it is an observatory, It was perfect when there was a large space build above.

    The Kitchen+Dining room.

    The dining room.

    The Kitchen.

    Another shot of the kitchen.

    The city of eperia is a fictional city I thought up. Its is ancient/space themed. Reason for the blocks used.
    I hope to be whitelisted (which means granted the rank, member I think, I am just a bit confused) with this build.

    This is my eperian palace. If you can get on the voxelbox, the cords are Approx 5800, 3200 in the world of facet I do believe.

    P.S. The texturepack is the palaceon pack, Required for the voxelbox.

    the only problem with these kind of machines is that the actually machine itself isn't grief proof. You can't exactly protect it, you could protect with with more machines, but you would have to protect those machines with more machines, and it continues. And there are limits to how much pistons can push, so, you just have problems. But yes, that is pretty cool and fast.

    Sad to see you ceasing work on this. This is probably the single most popular tool in the minecraft community. As others haves suggested, making it open source would make lots of people happy. Letting people pitch in, improve it, and continue the progress would be a great thing final thing to do for mcedit.

    Ok, so here are the images. I was using a texture pack at the time so I hope it doesn't bother you.

    I also made a vertical Ceiling Bud Switch. (I use to never know how to make these. )

    I made a one wide bud switch. Like all other bud switches, it uses a glitch for the block update, but, all bud switches do, so I don't know if you would want it. I don't have an image right now, but I can get it.

    EDIT:
    A download section at the very bottom is helpful!

    to say, you had an excellent format for individual trap designs, but I was talking about a way to categorize different categories of traps. E.G. Main 2 are "spawner" (dunegeon) and "scratch" (non-dungeon). There will be sub categories and the traps go into.

    posted a message on Design Challenge: Efficient Mob Grinder
    So, um, I don't really know how to start a topic but... I searched the forums (not much though) And didn't really find a main topic with a bunch of info on mob grinders/traps. I was thinking that the forums was missing A topic like that. So, for the people who Love this kind of stuff, or for people who want to get into making a simple one, I thought that this could be a thread to go to.

    So basically, I would like the community to develop, experiment, test different designs for low resource dependent, decent mob grinders. Different designs for dungeon traps, and from scratch grinders. Traps for endermen made for the end specifically, ghasts, zombie pigmen... pretty much a farm made for every farmable mob there is.
    - A large Topic filled with this useful information! (who's with me?!)

    First off on your journey through mob trap designs, Pick a category:

    Dungeon Traps:

    And Excellent video on spawners found in dungeons:

    Need trap designs...

    Scratch Traps:

    Rantaoca's Horizontal Waterless Mob Farm

    Horizontal Waterless Mob Farm ***GRINDER SOLD SEPARATELY*** :tongue.gif:

    Description:
    See, normally you find those huge towers for endermen, since it needs 3 layers per "drop," with pistons pushing them off each drop. This one uses an elongated double piston Caterpillar (explanation below) conveyor, (aka zig-zag conveyor) that I designed*. Explanation on it's used below.

    Specs:
    Size per module:It's diagonal, needs two extra blocks for the two pistons.
    Compatibility: All hostile mobs**can be built in nether for pigman/blaze)
    height per level: 5-8**

    Pros:
    • Compatible with ALL hostile mobs**
    • Horizontal layout gives you more levels, meaning more spawn area!
    • Cheap! (I designd it with the fact that I'm going to to build one in SMP) soon
    • Easy TNT mining to create!
    • Extremely low chance of jamming!

    Cons:
    • A bit slow on transporting mobs, speed scraficed for low jam rates
    • spider compatibility needs a workaround

    Pictures:

    Double piston caterpillar conveyor design
    (yes, there's pressure plates next to the repeaters)
    Note the stairs, they're too keep it from jamming. With stairs, the mobs HAVE to be on the spot in order to trigger the plate. Without stairs, they could be halfway on the pressure plate and get pushed into the wall.
    Spider Zig Zag water conveyor (blue block is where the water source goes)
    Spider compatible farm (note that the water conveyor cover is 1 block high, keep it is a viable place to spawn more mobs!)

    Need more trap desings...

    Because I assume there will be many different designs in the future, I will only ad important info, example design format, and links to different post designs in the correct format, I first want to figure out how to link posts.

    I will update this op post every so often (once or twice a week maybe), with the latest info/designs and such.

    Quote from Mumfrey

    You can have 10 general-purpose lists which are $$0, $$1 ... etc up to $$9, are these any good for your purpose? These lists can contain any arbitrary text you like, and are very keyboard-friendly: just scroll to the bottom of the list to add a new item, or right arrow key to edit an item.

    If you're not using it as well, you could leverage the coordinates (otherwise known as places) list to store name->integer pairs since you can just type in the integer you want to store as - for example - the x coordinate and then include $$px in your macro.

    Do either of these options work for you or have I missed the point somewhat?

    I didn't notice the $$0 - $$9. Thanks, I'll be using those. Couldn't you use $$<Character> E.G. $$t (teams).
    After reading the readme, and noticing the more things I can do, i'm loving this mod all the more. I see big things for this mod.

    First off, this mod is awesome. Really cool. I'm probably only gonna use the home and warp feature, but its pretty darn cool.

    Could I give you a little suggestion?
    ok,

    you would have this 'list' ($$l) thats is similar to the warps and homes list thing. But, you can modify it in a different way, adding integers (with names) or strings. Say, a server has a 'teams' plugin. And you want to access different teams, without typing anything. You would bind a key with /teams $$l (or something that would require a team input) and open the gui, and you could add/select the teams (which would be strings-names), and do what you want.
    op example: /teams $$l delete/add

    and, could you have multiple '$$' list things?
    E.G. /teams $$l add $$U(owner of the team)
    it would open a gui after another, till all the list things are finished.

    Not sure if you were able to understand that. I don't think i'm too good at explaining things. But I think this would be a wonderful feature.
