Hey guys, I am having an issue, I keep getting the black screen when it loads. I HAVE deleted the META-INF folder and I installed the mods correctly. The mods I am using (well trying to use) are the Fossil/Archaeology and the TooManyItems. The META-INF folder is deleted. I have re-downloaded minecraft several times and still have this issue. Any ideas?
Provide the modloader.txt and if possible also the crash report.
I was thinking about minecart rails, where they slope diagonally up blocks. I was just wondering if you could make something like that something like that for the outside of the tent, so it could be smooth instead of blocky
You mean like half blocks? which are cut dioganal? dont know how to say it in dutch :tongue.gif:
So that half of the block is transparant like glass and the other half isnt...
And btw, tom, what program do you use to make textures for mod items/mobs/blocks?
:angry.gif: DANGIT. I need some help here. I keep getting this error, i deleted the META.inf folder, read the faq, and even reinstalled minecrafted. Plus the mod i tried to install wasnt outdated.

It's a problem with the archiving program you use. Get another archiving program and do a fresh install with it.
I finally found out what was wrong For anyone getting A black screen error Go to %appdata% .minecraft and backup your mod folder then delete the one in the .minecraft folder and make a new empty mod folder in it, put mod loader into your minecraft.jar and it should work. It just means your going to have to play without some mods because apparently modloader its self actually conflicts with other mods. Jesus that took me about 2 weeks to figure out :sad.gif:
Thats incorrect.
Looks to me like you had an outdated mod in your .mods folder and you just got rid of that which made minecraft work.
Modloader doesn't conflict with mods, it does the opposite, it makes mods compatible with eachother.
Yeah the clay soldiers mod, which was the only one I had installed at the time. And it didnt work at all. Stuff loaded up fine, it was as if there wasnt any mod installed in it at all.
Well, the only thing I can suggest is doing a fresh install, because I don't see what is causing it.
Thank you! I'll go break it again and copy the .txt....

*Edit*
Also, I'm just wondering, is there any way for me to get the crash report without Minecraft giving it to me when it quits?
You get 2 errors, and it's a bit wierd, because the errors are from 2 files from mo creatures both located in the .mods folder.
One error comes from C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\mods\mocreatures
And the other one comes from C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\mods\MoCreatures.zip
I don't know why you have 2 files from mocreatures in your .mods folder, and they both cause an error when loading the "mod_mocreatures.class", so did you install the mod twice?
Well, I don't know what is causing the actual error:
java.lang.VerifyError: Cannot inherit from final class
But you should try doing a clean install. (start with a fres minecraft.jar and empty .mods folder)
I am trying to download mod loader I goto the mincraft jar and insert the files and delete meta-inf but when I try to play minecraft the launcher sez Can`t connect to minecraft.net I do have internet.
please help
Redhawk
The 'Can't connect to minecraft.net' is caused by minecraft itself. It means that there is a problem with the authentication server of minecraft, wich checks your account for being real/if you have purchased the game.
You just need to wait and the auth server will be fixed and you can play minecraft again. Just keep trying to connect.
Nope no black screen or anything, everything works fine, just the mod wont load, looking at the thing, it seems its the mod not the modloader maybe (unless im missing something on how modloader works), since i have another mod the requires modloader and it works.
But what mod isnt working excactly? The clay soldiers mod?..
it would be great if you could make a video, and sorry about not explaining the update well, i was pretty busy, but i will get some pictures in soon...
Then I'll 'try' to make you a 'nice' vid :tongue.gif:
I'll post it here when It's done :wink.gif:
And about the pictures, if you could add some that would be nice :tongue.gif:
