posted a message on 1.8 | The Last Ark | A Server Based on Exploration and Discovery l A New Role playing Experience l Fully Launched and Rocking!
    Timezone: Eastern

Age: 18.. no 14.. Which server is this again? Let's go with 17-19

Experience: Not much at all really (Lies) , I helped Staff for a few Fallout Roleplay Servers, and for awhile frequented Medieval Roleplay servers.

Reason Why: I want to see the idea come alive.

    Skype: Chaosmender

    Name: Tauto, Prefers Aliases though

    Age: Around 20-25

    Gender: Male

    Ethnicity: Unknown (Islander)

Birthplace: Unknown (assumed on a ship somewhere)

Appearance and Characteristics: Tauto can always be seen heavily geared no matter where he is, his apparel usually consisting of multiple layers of customized dark apparel. The first layer being a relatively plain dark shirt, the second being straps to hold various items, and the outermost layer being a leather coat of sorts with padding inserted in the shoulder region, and small protective plates in the sides. His pants just a basic dark denim with knee pads usually seen strapped on in front. This apparel though usually proving cumbersome after some time is supported by Tauto's heavy frame, and strategically placed straps which prevent convenient movement from being hindered. On his face at all times is a bandanna of sorts, perhaps the most noticeable piece of apparel. Though what lies under the cumbersome gear may be the most distinct for Tauto, his skin, which consists of abrasive burns on one side of his face, back of hands, and various parts of his torso. Along with a tattoo of his name along the arm, burns covering everything after the 'o'.

Strengths and Weaknesses: Strengths consists of Tauto's Patience, His drive, and perhaps his over-averaged size. Weaknesses are an unhelpable uneasiness around fire, and his fear of dying a failure, and desperation to learn his past.

Possessions: Tauto owns a cabin on one of the lower decks with a few various books and journals and a fishing rod.

    Background:
    *Cough* I don't remember... I... Sorry, alright.
It's really blurry, we.. What? I don't remember land.. Just water.. We were always in the water I think.. How far back can I remember? I was.. 8.. I think.. I.. I had a brother.. My mother? No.. No I don't know.. I remember a man.. He.. so close *growling* ... So familiar, I.. I don't know.. *sigh* Okay.. There was four of us.. Sss-Ssssid? Sid? No.. Simmm- screw it.. I know, I know.. you don't forget your old shipmates.. I'm really trying.. But it was four of us.. I only know because when I woke up... ... Screaming.. I.. There was screaming.. and a fire.. Bodies, okay? I saw four. I don't actually, I- I don't, I know, I'm not making sense. I'm not lying I really don't know... Okay, one last try. *sigh* The night it happened, I woke up to screaming... lots of it.. I jumped out of my cot.. I think we were on a fishing boat.. but.. we- we weren't fishing.. yeah it was a bigger one.. Anyway.. There was fire.. it.. It's hard to explain.. just everywhere.. I.. *pause* I remember hearing glass break and just more and more fire.. No I didn't even make it outside to the deck.. I heard someone scream "Simeon!" or something.. There was an explosion, last thing I saw was a huge hole blast inward towards me fire, debris, and all.. Next thing I kn- brother? Nnnn-no.. No.. I don't remember.. but.. anyway next thing I know.. I'm laying on debris.. In.. So much pain.. floating.. No I didn't see anything else.. I passed out sometime while floating, and I woke up here.. How long have I been out anyway? What!? What.. *looking down with a silent sob* What now..

Tauto was found near death floating on a large section of debris covered in burns and debris embedded in his skin, the area surrounding him following the same pattern of wreckage and debris strewn all throughout the water. When being taken out of the water rescue workers noticed Tauto also had dirt on him, not ash but dirt. Taking note of the fact, but continuing on to bring him to the infirmary where along the way Tauto had shot up screaming obscenities about an 'attack'. Questions would have been had, had he not fallen into a sort of comatose state, after waking from this binding state 3 weeks later it was found that Tauto knew very little of his past, ending up diagnosed with Amnesia. After a few weeks of rest, and many many questions (With little supplement of answers) Tauto found himself in a horrible predicament. Though the doctors had done the best they could to keep him alive, he was left with burns, and more unfortunately a heavy debt to pay. Expected to pay up for face consequences, Tauto appealed to workers in the infirmary and an arrangement was made. At the time, Tauto was still young, in his upper teenage years. During the day he would help move patients, change sheets, or move crates, whatever grunt work needed to be done for the small medical facility. And at Night, he would sleep wherever he could, usually the lower decks. And do maintenance, as in changing his bandages. Though the medical facility was stern and did expect payment they were not cruel, occasional food was left out for him and there were days where he was dismissed. Though this was not a merciful section of Tauto's life, it was an important one helping shape him however somber the situation seemed. Whilst working in the infirmary one day, a doctor had approached him asking him a question. "Have you been stealing bandages?" With a head hung in shame, Tauto had confessed to the doctor the truth, and his situation all in one sitting. After some time the doctor referred to as Dr. Liberty sighed and told him to follow him.

This led to a new chapter in Tauto's life. Dr. Libery had opened his cabin to Tauto. Though not without strings attached, Tauto would have his service days extended, Dr. Liberty told him to think of it as an apprenticeship of sorts. Overwhelmingly thankful to the generosity of Dr. Liberty who was getting on in his years, Tauto dedicated himself to his 'apprenticeship'. Though, all motivation decays. After a year and a half of service, though still grateful Tauto appealed to the Dr. for something more than just changing sheets, and moving supplies. After some thought, the Dr. said that he agreed, on the condition that the 'apprenticeship' was extended, and that Tauto fully followed his word. Reluctantly, with little else way to progress himself Tauto agreed which began his true apprenticeship. Over the course of years, the Dr. taught him at first higher level education. Since, though not totally uneducated, Tauto lacked the basis for true understanding of what the Doctors do. At one point, Tauto respectfully questioning how some of the higher level subjects pertain to helping people. The Dr. emphasized one thing to him, 'patience'. "Patience.. is the key to everything.. to learn, the patience to understand new concepts.. Patience is the basis for all.. How can you assess a situation if you can not have the patience to observe? You have much to learn, and much time to do it.." Again, with all the tolerance Tauto could muster, he dealt with the obstacles. Until the time where the Dr. felt it was Tauto was ready. With 2 and a half year of labor and intense education under his belt Tauto was ready for his actual training.

Along the long years, Tauto already knew how to secure a sprained ankle, clean a basic wound, or restore an unfortunate dislocation. But what he picked up was more of the advanced doings, such as stitching, diagnosing, and... treating burns effectively. Also picking up things such as taking notes, assessing situations carefully with consideration, and learning to have patience whether waiting to see if a treatment is working or to have the patience to keep going if things don't work out. Like in the cases of those they failed to save. This pattern of intense learning went on for two more years. Then the Dr. fell sick..

This, was yet another turning point in Tauto's life. Whatever ailed the Dr. was merciless, though Tauto and other Doctors and medical staff did all they could to help him, the Dr. Passed in his sleep weeks later. Tauto was left lost and devestated. Though not a Father figure, the Dr. was a powerful Mentor, and a key part in Tauto's life. Truly all that Tauto really knew, since his memory never recollected. Taking all his books, journals, his belonging and the Dr.'s fishing rod he descended to his small cabin he purchased to think about his next move.. patience was all he needed..

Funny though.. He never saw the Old man fishing..

    Roleplay Example:

"How long have I been out anyway?" 3 weeks, I told him bluntly. "What!? What..." He just looked down , like he was about to cry. "What now.." I had no answer for him. I shrugged, and left the room. The job never gets easier, your nerves just get harder. Though you always seem to be taken back by every new case. *Checking the time* Well.. Looks like I'm about to be set free once more.. I.. *sighing* I need a drink..

Entering the establishment somberly, with some familiarity.

Liberty: Hey Frank.. Let me just get whatevers on tap.. or tab.. whatever.. it's called..

Frank: Sure things *Grabs a glass and starts to fill it with the previous drink* So.. How's work?

Liberty: *Smiling a sad smile* Is what it is..Never get's easier.. *Catches the drink as it slides towards him*

Frank: *Chuckling* Yeah.. Hey, wass up with they guy they fished outta' water.. Rumor was he was a weird one

    Liberty: *Sigh* He.. He's different..

Frank: How so? Besides be'in a burnned guy an' all?

Liberty: He was *Taking a moment to consider himself* Covered. in dirt..

Frank: *Grabbing a glass, gives a hardy laugh as he begins to clean it* HA! So? Hows'at make 'em any different?

Liberty: Covered.. *Aiming to emphasize* Caked.. it wasn't ash.. It.. *Giving another exasperated sigh* Did you even know where we were

Frank: *Grabs another glass beginning to clean* Wheres'a'what?

Liberty: When we found him.. There was no dirt.. for at least 30 days travel..

    Frank: So?

Liberty: Y'know.. *Gulping down his drink in defeat* Im'a.. Just go.. I'm tired.. *Grabs some currency out of his pocket and tosses it on the counter haphazardly*

Frank: *pausing, considers if he might've offended him* Alright bucko.. Don't work too hard..

Liberty: *giving a sad chuckle* hehe.. Yeah..

Liberty leaves the bar, maybe even more somber than as he came.

Define Power Gaming: When you Roleplay actions with absolute, like so. *Kills him with one hit to the kneck*. Not giving the player a chance and making your moves absolute. Which is unfair.

Caleb took out his makeshift map, looking around he saw a few options. "Dog City.." he said to himself in thought, he heard of it awhile back. "Preperations will need to be made.." he droned on, as he trudged along. *Snap!* What was that? He thought to himself. "Hey.. Coat boy.. Biography:
Caleb was born in a small settlement, made in the ruins of an old relic of a town. Raised by a mother who tried her hardest, and his father Robbert Justice who was the settlements doctor in practice. His home being inside of the library, a suitable place to hold patients and sustain a defensible location with plenty of materials for his father to utilize. Over his years of development, Caleb was taught to read by his Father and Mother with plenty of material to read. He was taught the value of knowledge, and the good it can do. Having to help with the chores of the settlement to contribute, he also learned of hard work and endurance in the mentality of it all. By the time Caleb was a teenager he had started an apprenticeship under his father. Learning the ropes of the medical field Caleb saw lacerations, radiational burns, rashes, the whole pack that came with the Apocalyptic society, and soon learned how to treat each one of the injuries that plauged his people. Of course, along the line, also learning that death was inevitable, this partly shapped the Man Chaos came to be.

When Caleb was 17, his father became sick. Caleb and his Mother cared for him as well as they could but Death's cold hands finally gripped Robbert Justice and took him to where he once came from. Caleb replaced his father as the settlements Doctor successfully, and reluctantly. Over the course of the years, patients came and went, adding to Caleb's knowledge of medical practice, and the fragility of human life. His mother also fell into a deep depression, though life went on, as this was just a part of the Post apocalyptic world that Caleb was subject to. The settlement had also grown significantly over the years, becoming slightly well known by the surrounding populace. Caleb just continued on, reading his books, taking care of his Mother, and healing the settlement to make the funds to get by.

Caleb continuing this pattern for many years, no turning 21 stumbled upon a book. A history book it seemed, it was old, moldy, it was worn. But something about it called to him, the faded red stripes? The weird Symbol with 5 points? He didn't exactly know. But as curiosity was his weakness in the land of knowledge, he read the book. It intriuged him, it seemed more of a fantasy, a story book really, 'America' a country who fought through hardships and prospered. Unbelievable in Caleb's eyes really, but books haven't lied before, why would they lie now? This plauged Caleb, and as he read on he knew he wanted to find the truth of it all. But how to do it, would be a great mystery to him. He needed to prepare, if he was to even consider going out and looking for some remote thing on an answer. And so he did.

A year later, after his Mother had fell out of her depression, and his community had grown and prospered even more. Caleb was ready, and had plans on where to go, and what to do. You see, Caleb was widely known around the surrounding populace as an experienced doctor, bringing many people to request his assistance to saved loved ones. This gave Caleb good knowledge of the surrounding area, and even far off areas as rumors and stories were often shared. So when Caleb finally had all the preperations ready, and made the announcement of his leave, his community was devestated. So was his mother.

He was told he was going to die, he would not make it. Never before had he been filled with so many stories of how terrorizing the wasteland is. But Caleb was naive, and went on anyway. Saying his farewells, he went with a Caravan heading North to find what he was looking for. Really, just some remnants of the Old World. The Old World of America, that seemed just of a fantasy in a book. But he would find it, he would find the ancient fossils. Then, when he found them, he would restore them. Somehow, he'd have to, all he ever saw was suffering. It would be just a dream to fufill some of the things he saw in the fantasy history book.

All would be revealed soon enough, until then. Caleb heads North in search of the lost Society of America.

Character back-story (At least 3 paragraphs with no assuming faction roles):
Caleb was born in a small settlement, made in the ruins of an old relic of a town. Raised by a mother who tried his hardest, and his father Robbert Justice who was the settlements doctor in practice.

Though this being great for communal growth and more knowledge of the area, this was very bad as Caleb and the rest of his community learning of horrifying tales. Tales of men in red, soldiers really, with blades and throwing weapons.. Tales of mongrel beasts, big beasts taking over communities in far off lands. Though these were just stories at the time.. No one really knew if what they heard was really as they said. If only they knew.

Caleb now 21, his mother finally out of the depression but growing older, was now an experienced medic. Usually saving his patients, and even being subject to requests of other settlements to come and aid them in saving a soul or so. Caleb usually happy to help as he knew of the hardships and pain some settlements suffered. Over the course of 2 years Caleb happily obliged most requests while his community continued to grow and attract more attention.. Though, that not necessarily being good. The stories, over these years, were being more and more heard of, not thought to be of simple tales anymore. But actual horrifying truths. Though, personally Caleb never indulged in gossip, and was a blunt man who believe mostly only in what he saw. Sticking to his home most of the time never helped his social skills, so gossip wasn't ever really his for-tay in the first place. There was a simple knock on his door, little did Caleb know, the sound was not of a person, but an omen of death. The beginning of the end for Caleb's growing community.

It was a routine request, some men had been injured while hunting. Usually a grave wound, it was a novice job for Caleb. He took care of the injuries mostly consisting of lacerations. Got payed, and then was off back home. A road nicely established years back, trading caravans of a sort usually came through here, and was almost always safe to travel. Caleb walked up the path, the path going over a hill. As the path leveled, and his settlement came into view, what saw Caleb scarred him for the rest of his life.

Fire, flames, screams.. As far as the eye could see and the ear could hear. Caleb saw destruction and death. He quickly ran toward his settlement until he saw what shocked him the most. Men.. Men on crosses of a sort.. Men in red, Soldiers. He stopped running, there were many of them.. So many of them.. all in apparel of red, and in armour of a sort. It scared him severely so. Not because of the looks alone, but because they saw him.. And they were coming for him.. But Caleb saw and knew this, he knew they would come for him.. So he ran, he ran hard, he ran the opposite way, and he didn't stop running. As he ran, he felt as if he could hear the men behind him, as if he could feel the breath of them on his back. When he finally stopped running though, he passed out.. That was the end of the community.. That was the end of all Caleb knew, and it was the end of the dawn of peace for Caleb.

When he woke up it was dark. Dark in the night. Dark in his heart. Darkness.. He took out his map, and he wondered.. then he sobbed. He sobbed long and hard, gasping for breath. That's what he did was sobbed. Then he got up. Looked at his map, and that's where the rest takes off. Caleb after made it to another settlement. Telling his tale, he was given supplies a map and was given answers he was looking for. During this period of time he bounced settlement to settlement, eventually giving himself a goal. Looking for the nature of man, not in man itself, but in books. Caleb helped those he passed, but also looked for the information, this was his only goal. Something to keep him busy to keep away the hurt that plauged him.

Though he was given leads, and followed them best he could it mostly ended in failure or trivial information that proved no use of him. Though it did give him great knowledge of the area, and plenty to speak of. Finding plenty of rubble, and sites of destruction, it fascinated him ever so. In one case, he stumbled upon a fresher area reduced to rubble. Upon the rubble finding a robot.. No.. Not a robot, a suit.. No.. A man in a suit.. Dead. A strange symbol drawn on the armour. E. Caleb was fascinated with this being, but was cautious. Caleb looked around on the body, and found a holotape. It said of a place called Dog City, being a place of interest. But it was heavily coded, and not of much use.

Caleb knew where he was going. He intended to get there. Reluctantly leaving the body he was so fascinated with, Caleb left to go find the more information of 'Dog City'. Caleb found the information he was looking for, from people in settlements. He found out the location, and he set off for it. It was a long journey tiring.. Caleb made rest stops at settlements, and small lootable places as to stay prepared and supplied. Occasionally following leads for his quest on knowledge. This leads us to where he is presently..

Following a lead.. A lead that lead him to this prison.. Which should have recordings of prisoner behaviors.. Though, this is just a stop for him. He has a goal.. But for now. He enters the prison facility...

And that's where his story continues.

Major Events of 2077: By New Years of 2077, the world was blessed and a cure for cancer was invented. Althogh the Great War begins October 23, and ends just 2 hours later, turning much of the world into a desolate wasteland. Vault 0 closed as the bombs fell, leaving many pre-war scientists unharmed. Senator Peterson is struck completely by suprise, he tries to gather his family to leave to his bunker, but he never arrives, leaving the only survivor of the family to be alone.
