I always wanted a mod that increased the draw distance, I started working on this like a month ago.
I'm aware that there are other mods that do this, they however are different they added a "very far" distance and didn't work in SMP, it also changed the UI options so it conflicted with UI mods.
All the View distances increases you can now Toggle in game, the "Tiny" view distance in game becomes what Vanilla's "Far"
So "Far" is now double more view, Normal is 50% more, Short is 25% more, Tiny is the Exact same as Vanilla's Far.
THIS MOD PRETTY MUCH WILL HAVE STABILITY ISSUES WITHOUT A BIGGER HEAP SIZE SET/ OR 64BIT JAVA INSTALLED!!!
HERE IS THE LINK TO DOWNLOAD 64BIT JAVA, ANY COMPUTER WITH 4gigs+ ram and a 64BIT VARIANT OF WINDOWS SHOULD BE USING THIS 64bit JRE
BY DEFAULT MOST PEOPLE's COMPUTERS ARE INSTALLING THE WRONG VERSION! IT DETERMINES THE VERSION ON ORACLES SITE BASED ON THE WEB BROWSER, NOT THE OS, MOST BROWSERS ARE 32BIT!
I highly suggest people set the view distance to normal, it increases the view distance to 50% more than Default "Far" and will be the best performance/Quality ratio.
People on your server do not have to use this mod if they don't want to. It only affects the limit of how many chunks the server is willing to send to the client.
NEW 1.3.2!!!!!!!!!!!!!! READ THIS OR IT WILL NOT WORK!!!!!!
With the merge of SSP/SMP You now have to set how many chunks the new serverclient will load, I have made a "View.txt" file to set the "view-distance" parameter for the client. It goes in the mods folder in the folder where you run the game from.
The settings is the same as it was for the old server properties as follows on the following list. Just make sure you only change the number, without the View.txt in the right place the game will defualt to normal chunks.
Warning!!
SIDE NOTE!!!! With the new way levels are loaded via running a server even in SSP it takes a bit of time to initially load a level you may experience blackness for up to a minute before it actually loads the chunks on the higher settings! Just wait it will load! Epecially on new levels!!
Server Properties/View.Txt settings need to be changed for the mod to work!!!!!
Default is 10 in View.txt/Default is "view-distance=10" in the server.Properties
This is how many chunks from the player that will load. ONLY CHANGE THE NUMBER.
You can adjust it up to 24, recommended is 20 that is double view.
For better in game performance with crappy computers you can also use this mod to lower the amount of chunks the server loads from 10 down to as low as 3 this should help on computers that are having issues with the new client being hardcoded to load 10 chunks out regardless of in game settings.
Enjoy!
Want to add spinning fans that push and pull objects?!? check out my Rotator mod.
Ever wanted an HD texture pack that isn't too realistic or isn't RPG themed, that is just minecraft themed?
Minecraft Enhanced has been in developement for 3 years now, it has come a long long way staying currently updated since minecraft was in Alpha, it paved the way for a lot of the others.
This pack features "d3fin3d" Font because there is no reason to reinvent the wheel and this font is exactly what mine would look like, check out the authors thread at D3fin3d
GET MCPATCHER HERE FIRST, THIS WILL NOT WORK WELL WITHOUT IT! Lower FPS!!! MCPATCHER THREAD
Additional download Info
You can still use this pack without MCPATCHER as of Minecraft 1.5, but it is recommended you stick to the sub 128x version, as the 256x version isn't playable without MCpatcher.
IF you Don't like the RANDOM grass and rocks/flowers via CTM mod, just simply delete the CTM folder from the pack and it will revert to vanilla!
NOTE: Due To massive changes in the 1.4/1.5 I have uploaded 3 different versions for compatibility reasons. Also MCpatcher seems to be quite buggy these last few versions, make sure you have Minecraft working with Default textures and MCpatcher before you install the pack or you will possibly get a black screen.
Also it is highly Recommended that you increase your java heap size to 3gb+ or CTM will crash the 256x Version on the pack!!!
For the Best Performance/Quality Ratio Feel free to mix and match the packs, new with minecraft 1.5 the textures do not need to be the same resolutions! So you can use 256x items with the 128 pack and get great performance results with little loss in quality!
Thanks for using the Adfly links and not complaining, I put a lot of work into this, literally thousands of hours over the last three years, just click the yellow box in the upper right hand corner!
If you like this pack and want to support it feel free to donate to my paypal in my sig, it's always appreciated.
=======================Rotator Mod v1.2.5==================================
Ever felt like minecraft doesn't have enough objects that move? Ever wanted to build an airship
with spinning propellers, or an epic windmill that actually spins? From the Guy the brought you one of the best HD Texture packs, and Brought you skyboxes and shooting stars and made the night sky come alive. I now present
the awesomely epic Rotator mod.
Here is an Awesome Fan made video that kinda shows how to use the mod, man that was awesome and quick special thanks to MinecraftJAKEE
The spinning things can be more than just fans, and come in all sizes, but he shows a great example of how it can be a ceiling fan if desired! Note that these also have "axils" so that they aren't just floating.
Here is a demo of the amazingness! What will you build!?!?
This mod features 39 different Rotating objects that can also be placed on the ceiling and ground. You can customize the texture yourself if you so desire! This mod is very much like the paintings in that it only uses one item ID and texture array to add all these different potential entities.
The recipe is all sticks in all slots, basically a painting but, with a stick in the middle, as well, instead of the cloth.
The speeds can be changed as well as the Spin Direction. By holding the R key while you right click, you can pick from 7 different speed settings, which are saved and are independent from one another. Hold the C key and click to change the Direction to counter clockwise, Shift-C to switch back to clockwise on an already placed Rotator.
The objects are split into 5 different Sizes catagories to minimize your selection frustration! Simply hold the B,N,M or H key on your keyboard while you right click to place to select the size!
You can right click to dynamically change the texture among that size without having to re-place the object! Much like punch a picture mod. This was a must in order to incorporate so many different items into one, and it not be as annoying as hell to get the one you desire.
They feature collision so you have to make sure that you have enough room to place them so they won't collide with other blocks/entities.
They also Now feature velocity and damage!!! You can use them to push and pull objects and kill mobs! They also now have a "redstone mode" so you can control your rotators remotely for mob killing machines
Hold "V" and right click to activate velocity, Shift-V deactivates it. You can have it push using a clockwise rotator, and pull using the counterclockwise spin. Note that the velocity and collision box size change with speed.
Hold "G" to activate the mob grinding feature, and Shift-G to deactivate, note that the damage changes dynamically based on speed.
The best part is, this mod adds entities not blocks so if you remove the mod it should not corrupt your saves as the entities will just cease to exist!
I also plan on eventually adding spinning lights for Lighthouses and creeper emergencies as well
Right click while holding nothing for tiny rotator
B while placing for small
N while placing for normal
M while placing for large
H while placing for Huge/Windmill
R and right click already placed rotator for Rotation speed
C and right click already placed for counterclockwise rotation, Shift-C and right click to revert.
V and right click already placed to add velocity = To push and pull yourself and mobs, Shift-V and right click to deactivate.
G and right click already placed rotator for Mob damage, Shift-G and right click to deactivate.
To activate "Redstone mode" place rotator near a redstone power source when it is originally placed, this will allow on/off control via redstone wires and switches.
Please check out my other mods Minecraft Enhanced, if you enjoy having a dynamic sky featuring moon cycles, and shooting stars as well as skyboxes
Can you please tell me where I can find the old version of this resource pack/texture pack?
Great if you could!
Cheers
Me
Lol wow, you probably shouldn't quote the whole OP.
I used to keep all the backups of every version, but the game has changed so much since I started developing this during Alpha that I no longer have them. I've probably done 30-40 releases.
That being said, this pack gets ripped A LOT, and there is bound to be a website somewhere that hosts older versions. I used to be a stickler about people hosting it other places but I had to just let it go. The only version I believe I kept was the very first and trust me you don't want it..... it sucks. It's from halloween 2010..... so yah not really gonna work with any version past alpha.
And to those interested, no I'm not dead, and this project is not dead, it's just on hiatus. I've been working 45-50 hours a week and I just simply don't have the time I once did.
There will eventually be an update, at some point.
Do I understand correctly, your enthusiasm for minecraft on faded?
I have been working on this texture pack for 4 years, that's a long time. It was one of the first HD packs.
Minecraft has added way more to the game than I ever expected when I started off on this adventure.
So understandably a persons interest would wane.
Honestly I haven't played minecraft much since late beta. Also I'm working 50 hours a week now, when I started this I was unemployed.
I'll keep updating it though it's just going to take a bit more time.
Most likely no. I feel changing the 3d models of the game changes the game too much. And honestly after playing space engineers it makes it damn hard to even want to touch minecraft, let alone work on a whole new system of models.
I'm going to work on the rest of the 1.8 stuff this weekend, a good portion of it is already in there from the last release.
For now the current version should work as Justnukeit was saying there really aren't versions anymore everything is interchangeable.
This update is pretty massive so patients is appreciated.
Have you started to work on the new stuff in the snapshot(14w30b)? I think banners may be a bit time consuming so take as much time as you need.
I haven't even loaded the game up since the last version. But I'll start looking into it soon, looks like some interesting stuff. I'm just hoping that my completely irrational fear of rabbits doesn't translate into them looking completely crazy. I'm seriously not joking I hate rabbits. they bite.
Honestly I've been playing space engineers alpha, and It's amazing and it makes it really really hard to want to play minecraft anymore. Especially since they plan on adding in-game programming in C#, that for me is going to be amazing. I highly suggest the game to people It's everything I thought minecraft was going to be. Don't get me wrong I love minecraft but I felt like the game was the best during alpha before they added way too many RPG elements.
But don't worry i'll still do updates, I just wanted to gush a bit about Space Engineers, you all should def at least go look at it.
Front page Update Released, I decided with realms coming out today and it being friday to go ahead and push the release, there are a bunch of changes. There are still some new things that need updated but most of the new stuff is there. I will update again for v1.8, adding some things I forgot and making some other adjustments.
As always please report any bugs, and I hope everyone likes the update. The ctm podzol still needs some work, but the dirt sides looked weird without ctm next to other ctm dirt so I went ahead and added what is most likely a place holder.
Sorry for the long delay of the update, it's the longest time since the packs inception in 2010 during alpha. I have worked on it on and off for months so there are probably a lot of undocumented changes.
Make sure you use the latest MCPatcher to get CTM textures and HD Font. As of right now it isn't updated for the latest snapshot, and the latest snapshot is buggy. So for now I would stick to the last snapshot 14w11b as it works with Mcpatcher.

Been working away on it here and there when I have time, still quite a bit of new stuff to get in.
Also here is a preview of a map/level I've been working on for minecraft for awhile to show off the pack
It's quite large, 40 million blocks so far. 500 block wide circle, it's pretty awesome.
