posted a message on Unable to trap Zombie Villager [1.8]
    *sigh*

I had a response a couple days ago for the questions, but for some reason it didn't post.

The first Zombie, I trapped within dirt right when the sun was coming up and before I could run back home and get the ingredients to cure him, I heard him burning. Before I knew it, Rotten Flesh popped out. :(

The second zombie I trapped inside a home (removed windows and replaced with Sandstone). Again, I went to my house (located within same village) to get ingredients to cure and I can only think of 1 of 2 things that happened.

    1. A villager quickly came and opened the door and let him out.

    or

    2. He despawned (I was told by a friend that this can happen?)

*It's also important to note that the 2nd Zombie villager was actually a baby, but my friend also said that you may not be able to cure them.

    so.. I don't know.

My Zombie Villager's die during the day, even when I've trapped them inside a house with no door or windows :(

Does it matter what material you use? because I've based my location in the desert and used sandstone.

posted a message on [v3.7] AMIDST - Strongholds, Village, Biome, Etc. Finder. [1.7.4]
Yea.. it had nothing to do with Amidst. The reason I lost everything was because I tried logging into a generated 1.8 world while using a 1.7.10 profile. I'm brand new to the game and didn't know it would do that.

The only reason I mentioned it, was because a previous statement was made to get Amidst to work was to create a 1.7.10 and use that to "log on" to Amidst to view your map.

Perhaps I misunderstood completely, but would hate for someone to make the same mistake as me.

Just a reminder to everyone that the current version of Amidst is still useful if you are playing 1.8, because not much has changed between 1.7 and 1.8. To continue to use Amidst after the update, create a launcher profile for 1.7.10, play it once, and then use that profile when you launch amidst. Also, use the seed rather than opening the level file when opening your world in amidst. To find the seed of your world, use the command "seed" within minecraft.

    Some caveats:

    • You can use a custom world type and change things like ore production, but don't change the biome criteria if you wish to use amidst.
    • One obvious benefit of an update would be seeing water temples, which the current version cannot do. However, you can use this site for that: http://chunkbase.com/apps/ocean-monument-finder

So, I tried creating a 1.7.10 profile to use for Admist like you state, but I opened my 1.8 world to get the seed and lost everything.

    Jeb has tweeted:

So when you create a 1.7.10 profile to run AMIDST off, don't be opening your 1.8 worlds with it.

I too suspect the author has been busy, but they may also be putting everything off until the 1.8 version of MCP comes out, as MCP makes the decompiled Minecraft code readable. It sounds like it MCP should be a few days from now. If they are too busy, then I imagine there'll be some unofficial fork of Amidst providing v1.8 support for the interim.

    Then I see this :(

Ok.. I've only been playing Minecraft for the past 3 1/2 days and I just installed Mineforge 10.12.2.1121 (recommended) & Mineforge 10.13.0.1179

So I could use the mod Journeymap.

I'm not sure if it's Mineforge or Journeymap, but now I have hostile mobs during the day. This wasn't always the case. Before I was able to explore and perform my work during the day with no worries.

    Can someone please help?
