To finally call it a day:
Some people like Microsoft and some not
Some are afraid that Microsoft will steal their data and some are not.
But in the end we can all agree that seeing everyone running around with a cape past 2020 will just be annoying. -

Nevermind
Yes, you are right my argument is a little bit out of place.
But having to migrate to a Microsoft account is still unnecessary since its just a log in process.
The same security could be achieved with the Mojang account system wich is not much different than the Microsoft one.
Thats why i dont see any plausible reason on why to migrate to a Microsoft account except the fact that Microsoft can steal our data.
Because migrating basically means that all of your data that has ever been stored on the Mojang servers aswell as your personal data will be transferred to the Microsoft servers wich also means that Microsoft can access all of your personal information at any time, anywhere.

I didnt refer to the the account migration, but to Microsoft in general.
The only things they are out for is spying, profit and the elimination of any legacy/old software thats not capable of running the latest spying technology.
Edit: This this is awkward and totally out of place but still kinda true ^. -

Lol why are you so insistent on defending this change? They track your use of their other products and services and link it to you through your Microsoft account so they can use it for targeted advertising and product recommendations. They will likely use Minecraft in the same way once people migrate their accounts. People don't need any more of a reason than that to not want to use a Microsoft account.
exactly ^

people just dont want to give out their data to microsoft for privacy reasons.
And another reason is that the legacy launcher (wich some people are still using) may not work after migrating to a Microsoft account, wich also means that playing Minecraft legally on some older operating systems like Windows XP will be impossible.
Microsoft is trying to eliminate any legacy software (Legacy launcher / Legacy Minecraft accounts / Legacy operating systems)
and thats why some people are mad about Microsoft.
Some people just WANT to stay on their current account type and do not want to change/switch. -

You mean updating your Windows version? Why is this a bad thing?
Some people (including me) do not like newer releases of Windows and would like to stay on their current version regardless of the possible "security risks" that Microsoft is telling us about.

Microsoft locked me out of my email when I was a kid because I was too young to own a phone.
Microsoft held my Skype account for ransom until I gave them my number.
Microsoft changed my entire operating system out of the blue one day. The only option I was given was to delay the installation.
Microsoft has hindered my work by messing with my google office documents uploaded to their 365 corporate suite.
Now microsoft is threatening to straight up take away a game that I already paid for unless I sign up for their services before 2021.
I'm reminded of the move they tried to pull with the xbox. They were seriously not going to let people use their own console unless they had an active internet connection.
In retrospect it should have been obvious that microsoft would continue this trend of locking people out of games and services.
I see it the same way.

why do we even need to migrate our mojang accouts.
i strongly doubt its because of security "lacks" only.
we used them for like 4 years without any problems and now this?!?
Microsoft is really messing up everything they can get their hands on.
First Windows 7, then the death of legacy WU and now the account changes!Whats next?
Forcing everyone to migrate to Windows 10 edition or what?
This is outrageous - To post a comment, please login.

Hi,
yesterday i found out that Mojang wants to move Minecraft from AWS (Amazon Web Service) to Microsoft Azure.
After i read that, i was wondering, if the Legacy Launcher would still be usable after the switch.
I browsed the internet and found nothing related to my problem that could solve it.
Can anyone help me out?
Thank you !

Yeah Core 2 Duos are still very common and i think that they are still very good processors theres even a model going up to 3.3 Ghz (as far as my knowledge goes) wich shows that the Core 2 duo is still a Usable Processor even to this day, more than a Decade after its discontinuation.

Hey man actually have good experiences With vista yes RTM sucked but SP2 was awesome and fixed all performance aswell as driver compatibility errors. Sadly Vista became hard to set up because most of the Servers for Windows Update and Windows live have been shut down so its more difficult to get the required software.
But XP is a great os too and will be never forgotten.
