Here's a couple of my old abandoned worlds. They are nothing special, but I like roaming other people's worlds so maybe someone else will.

I can't seem to make this load a very large world (150MB.) It goes through the motions, shows me the loading status bar, but after a few minutes it says "Loaded Map" but it doesn't show up. Whatever was on the display last remains (title screen, last world) and I can't seem to interact with anything in the display area.
Is there any way you could look into this? I would love to be able to delete parts of this large world file as I believe it is causing other problems. I can give you a copy of the world file if that would help.

If there was a Global Ban list, I would have been banned from much, much more than 16 servers, and it would not have been my fault.

Alternatively you could have bought your own account instead of using the leftovers from a griefer.

I know a ban list isn't feasible but I really like the idea of all these idiots having to buy the game again when they try to ruin other people's enjoyment.

This is why I'd prefer the option for an admin/sysop to initiate the shutdown and restart since they can be in-game and see if it would be a convenient time. Maybe even a /vote restart could be handy. Presumably most servers already have an automated backup routine set just how they like it, it's just a matter of getting the world in memory into the world folder on the hdd.

I'll take a look at your wrapper Zicore, but as it's written in C# it's incompatible to my current situation. However I might be running a Windows SMP server as well in the future.

So none of these wrappers support auto-restart? That's a shame. There's an issue with making world backups while the server is running, sometimes despite backups, world data that was created hours ago can be lost. Doing a regular shutdown and restart would make secure backups.

My world folder gets updated like every minute o_O

If you force quit the server so that it doesn't shut down gracefully, the world will not be exactly how it was before the quit. If you make a copy of the world folder immediately before a force quit, and then use the copy, the world will still not be exactly how it existed before the quit. It certainly seems like some world changes hang around in memory for a time (hours even.) Scheduling a server shutdown and restart would commit those changes to the world folder.

I'm still having trouble spawning items. As an admin I can spawn them, but my users can't. As an admin I can #summon toolkit, but no users can, any solutions?

Does it work in #fun mode?

Are you sure that stopping the server is required?
The world folder seems to be updating automaticaly all the time.

The world folder does update, but not in real time. Apparently nowhere near real time. Updates seem to stay in memory for up to hours before being written to the folder. I don't know, but a chunk might need to be empty of players before it has its updates committed, or something like that.

I'd just like to say, that even if your work is fleeting, you've really turned a frankly pale multiplayer experience (not that it's Notch's fault for allowing such early entry) into something worthwhile.

Any chance of adding an automatic server restart option? A lot of world info doesn't seem to get written to drive while the Alpha server is running. In order to do complete backups the server needs to stop and save chunks periodically. I think it would be great if admins could use the #stop command knowing that the server will auto restart and the latest world chunks will be saved on the next auto-backup. I've seen a Win .bat solution for auto restart but it won't work with another wrapper.

I have no idea why it doesn't work on XP. I am looking into it but I am about to throw in the towel because in all honesty you should rethink what you are doing if you are hosting a server of any sort on XP.

It work for me on XP. Service Pack 3
    Java 1.6.0_21

The only issue I have is it stalling at "Input loop..." when I have to enter a command to get it started.

Ok, trying to run this on XP. I have the correct paths entered, but all it does is stops at "Starting input Loop...".
Can connect to the server mostly without problem but the wrapper seems inactive.

Tried another computer with XP and same problem so it can't be just my computer.

What happens when your type 'help' and enter when it says "Starting input loop..."?

When I start up ServerLauncher it says blah blah starting input loop... and nothing happens can't connet, no server, if I type in anything and hit enter, then suddenly it starts up the server, takes my command, and the server works. I don't know what it's waiting on but I have to give a command (or just any text garbage and enter) before it starts. Enter alone doesn't do it.

    Windows XP.

ps:Thank you for this, and could we please have the "don't be a dumbass" welcome pulled from a txt file asap?
