I would like to thank Emperor Doom for indirectly solving a problem that I was having! Since Solace is 32x, I have been texturing the items at the same resolution, however tools like swords and pickaxes didn't quite fit the theme of the pack as their edges were jagged, as opposed to straight.

After basking in the glory of the sword in the header-bar that Emperor Doom just posted, I realized a solution to my problem that was so obvious I face-palmed. All I have to do is raise the resolution.

64x still gave me the jagged-line problem, but 128x is perfect. Here's a VERY quick stone-sword mock-up to showcase my point:

Thing about that is, is if you have items that are 128x, it will upscale the terrain.png to that size too.

posted a message on Books being read on Item Frames.
Ok, I come from a creative server with a protection plugin, and I own a library on there. thing is, it is hard to freely run it. I have to make sure that all the books being checked out are returned, and its not really worth the work. So my suggestion is, that books being placed on item frames will be able to be read. Pretty straightforward.

What my idea is, is whenever the crosshair hovers over an item frame with a book, it tells the book title and author. Right clicking will open the book GUI and allow you to read. The only setback with this, is that written books cant be turned.

Thats pretty much it. Just a short suggestion.

This is really good, I rarely see good new texture packs. im gonna try it out, than tell you what I think.

EDIT: ok, I tried this. there is not one texture I would change, except I would brighten obsidian just a tad and move the sidegrass to the normal spot so the sidegrass can be colored. great pack.

I started messing around in photoshop and ended up with these...

32x32 took around 10 mins to do all, the stone i am not too sure on... there is a few tiling issues

I really, really love the ores. the stone looks damaged and cracked and gives more contrast to the ores. I would love to see this as a texture pack actually.

These are some textures i made without the Tutorials, and i think they're damn good

This is what I'm gonna focus on for Wisp, and if people don't like the fact
that I didn't use Tutorials or that it's not Pixel Art-ish, tough for them, i like it
    Well, except the logs

Some are good but some lack shading like the dirt, some parts of the stone brick, and chiseled stone brick, and some things look blurry. other than that this is nice.

@ the whole pixel art conversation.
If you find yourself just copying everything you see in a tutorial, STOP. Invent your own style, use the tutorials as helpful guidelines, not as instructions. I actually never follow tutorials, I just take information I learn from them, and apply them to my textures to help me.

I agree for the most part, but sometimes tutorials are needed. I never really follow the tutorials, just use things I have learned in it as an advantage, what I was talking about was the main pixel art tutorial that talked about limited palletes, banding, shading, and hues.

The latter is what I'm referring to, Yes Kris.
Though yes, tutorials are great for helping with
tiling and detailing, but one should not follow them
    so heavily

The tutorials are needed to know how to use pixel art. There are certain rules to pixel art, and you dont have to follow them, but sometimes they can make your pack better.

    There's something i don't understand...
What is the almost obsession some
texture artists have with that bloody
Pixel Art Tutorial and their packs?
Not ONCE have i seen someone use what that
tutorial has for their pack and having said pack
turn out GOOD. Danori's RUSTCA is a good
example of a pack that relies too heavily
    on that Tutorial.

Whatever happened to packs that were made
directly off the top of someone's head, rather
than someone having to rely on Tutorials

The tutorials are pretty much the backbone to making real pixel art. Im redoing my mixed nuts texture pack and using more elements from that tutorial (Mainly using a pallete with varied hues) and my new texture pack is looking much, much better.

Survival isn't survival its "gather your own materials creative". I'd actually love having regular survival resets and I came from survival servers. hence why I don't play on creative. I actually love working my way to the top each time but then what? build? no we have creative for that. so all i do is mope around my house or spawn bored out of my mind. so I'm all for a survival reset. I would also love for survival to be a tad harder by allowing looting/pvp and griefing so players have to utilize their res making skills and protect their stuff by making money to pay for the res. or maybe start them off with enough money to make a small res like 5x5 until they can afford a bigger one and it should be a little challenging to make money so you actually have to work to protect your things.

YES. Res's are useless as of now, I dont have a res on my house and my island and they have not been griefed yet.

I agree with the survival reset. My new house took little to no time at all, and it is made out of normal none-plank wood. the forest to the left of my is untouched. We need survival to be the backbone on surviving, not shops.

Do you think you can make a birchleaves.png that goes in the misc folder so people can have custom birch leaf texture to be different than normal leaves?
