I always say that if the base is visible from the surface, it's not protected enough. Seeing that a substantial base is already built, that advice may be somewhat useless to you now. Build a roof to protect it from ender pearl users and put water around the outside of the walls and over the roof to protect it from TNT. Beyond that, all I would worry about is someone who uses nether portals to get into bases. I'm not 100% sure this works, but I think if you build a portal with lava flowing over it somewhere in your base, anyone trying to portal in will get stuck in it. If you plan to use the nether yourself, put your real portal in a distant, hidden location.
Enjoyed the map a lot! It is by far the best parkour map I've ever played. The resource pack impressed me just as much as the map itself. It must have taken ages to make everything!
If you are in sword combat, you will most likely be mouse spamming to swing as much as possible, meaning the initial damage of your sword will be dealt many times. For this reason, you would want the sword that deals the most damage in a single blow (Sharpness V). Unbreaking won't help you much in combat, and Fire Aspect is only really useful for mobs. If you really want to set someone on fire, use a Flame bow or a flint and steel. Even still, a smart PVPer will have a water bucket on his bar at all times, so fire isn't all that effective.

I was digging a tunnel in the Nether and I made the noob mistake of standing next to the block I was mining while holding w, resulting in me diving head-first into lava. Thankfully, I had decent enchantments on my armor, so I was able the survive the lava with minimal damage. Fire damage brought me down to half a heart, though.
18, starting college next month, gonna major in mechanical engineering. I was an admin on a server that was geared toward kids for a long time. Let me tell you, some of them can be really annoying. Most of them are actually okay, but every so often, you get some 12-year-old who thinks it's funny to dump lava on his own house and blame someone else for it... 3 times in one day.
The ones about the mob counts confused me. If snapshot mobs are considered for the quiz, rabbits change the passive mob count, and guardians change the hostile mob count. Also, the bosses technically count as hostile mobs, but a lot of people classify them as neither hostile nor passive because they are bosses, and I don't know how the quiz maker would interpret them.
Also, there is a way to remove bedrock in survival using dark oak saplings, but since you're not technically "breaking" the bedrock, I can understand why it wasn't listed as an option.
In my hotbar, I must always have a sword in slot 1, a bow in slot 2, a pick in slot 4, and food in slot 9. No idea why, but if those aren't positioned like that, I can't focus on anything in the game.
Hello there, people of the Minecraft Forums! I'm Cha0sFerret and I started uploading Minecraft videos to my Youtube channel about a month ago. I discovered iron armor is terrible for taking on guardians at an ocean temple, especially without water breathing potions. Workable, yes, but diamond gear and potions are kinda necessary if you don't want to be walling yourself into a corner every 10 seconds and frantically creating air pockets. Plus, trying to dig yourself out of said corners while under mining fatigue 3 is a nightmare.
If you ever explore ocean temples in survival, plan to kill the elder guardians as quickly as possible so you don't have to deal with mining fatigue.
You could use open trapdoors or open fence gates to make mobs fall off of their spawning platforms. For some reason, mob AI recognizes those as full blocks that can be walked on.
