Assuming that infinity is actually y:255
Had this kicking about for a while now, just couldn't bring myself to hang all those doors. My intention originally was to do it from bedrock to ceiling. Lol, those intentions went out of the window during level 3.
I did a couple of variations, the second one didn't turn out so good.

This is really cool, I would love to have one on my survival world. How long did it take you to build it?
Thanks. I've changed it slightly in the last couple of days.
It takes about an hour in creative. Probably 2+ in survival.
Plan to get a tutorial out with several add-ons in within the next week. Hopefully the next couple of days.

Can you explain this in further detail? I'm not the one who made this so I don't know what the lc value is.
SReject did a much better job than I would of

So, a while back Daniel Kotes discovered a way of utilizing the Wither in the overworld to break blocks such as wood blocks, I actually built his wood farm but now in 1.7 it breaks. The fix however is very simple, just limit oak tree growth to 5 high.
Anyway, upon recently seeing Mumbo Jumbo's tree farm I decided I would build my own. I wasn't too concerned with the speed but sapling retention was extremely important.
My first design was quite small but the sapling return was very inconsistent due to the leaf crushers staying extended for too long.
I examined Daniel's and saw he used a one tick pulse for the crushers (2-tick actually) so back to the drawing board I went and came up with, what I think is pretty nice design, 100% of my own. It is activated by a pressure plate, it's fast, has a "fail safe" for when the Wither can't keep up and saplings are returned via droppers on either side. The sapling retention rate is easily 90%, with just 2 or 3 saplings in hand to begin with this thing will run to infinity or until the bonemeal runs out, whichever is longest
Next up I decided to add a Wither cage and stacking / conveyor unit. I was just gonna bolt Daniel's onto the side but now the tree's are 5 high max again, I made my own.
The Wither cage I also changed, I made it shorter and substituted the villager / snow golem for a pig.
Current dimensions are: 14x11x12.
Production rates vary considerably. 7200 is the lowest for an hour ( a full hour in survival mode, not 5 minutes x 12) and 7980 is the highest. Usually around 9 stacks of saplings and 4 stacks of apples are acquired in that time
So, I was wondering if anyone would be so kind as to give me some feedback on it. I left it on overnight and the Wither was where I left him so it appears to be safe. I don't have time to make a video on it atm so any feedback (good or bad) would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for that then, but ximavoid's farm looks almost the same, i mean it has the same basics
That's ok mate. Thanks for replying.
I dont know if you watched my video but the only things our farms have in common is that they are Wither Skeleton farms and that they drop down.
Mine allows all other mobs to despawn (apart from tiny magma's) and only the Wither Skeletons make it to the collection point meaning no crushers etc.
I have actually seen that video before and usually have a ggod search on YouTube to see if an idea has been done before. Even if I can't find a video of the same idea, with the amount of people that play Minecraft, the chances of that idea not being done already are pretty slim.
Dec 27, 2013Just a simple barebones version. This farm doesn't separate mobs using laggy piston timers and crushers, it simply lets them despawn whilst removing the Wither Skeletons to a collection area 32+ blocks away.Posted in: Creative Mode
A cage would be needed around the spawn pads with some cactus and some cover down below from Ghasts.
Obviously it would work best in a spawn-proofed environment.

Basically the Zombie just tracks the villager in the minecart setting off pistons whilst trying to get as close as possible but inadvertently stepping on a pressure plate to move him away again.
The drop at the end is pretty cool though.

Wow! This is really cool and quite compact! I might use this
The cow one can be made into a 3x3x2 (I think) but you need a piston to push a half slab into the cart to stop cows jumping up there. A few of the drops though will fall onto the floor (less than 5%), so I just showed this one
