posted a message on Mob Vote 2021

Unless the third mob is fairly interesting, the allay has my vote. The glare is a bit useless in my eyes. If its dark, mobs will spawn, and if its bright, they wont. I don't need a mob to tell me that.

posted a message on Will Minecon 2021 exist? If so, will there be a cape?

100% sure there will be no in-person event. Minecraft Festival was advertised to be the next minecon event so minecon live is probably all we're gonna get with no capes. 2022 will be in-person if all goes to plan and we'll get a cape then. Minecraft Festival was officially postponed to 2022 on the twitter account and the original page.

also don't get your hopes up about any locations, they said its going to be in Orlando, Florida and I'd be shocked if it changed locations between now and then.

posted a message on Second release of 1.17 compatibility?

Has anything been said regarding the compatibility of the 2 1.17 releases? I don't want to start a world that's going to be messed up by the second release. I know the whole load new chunks thing, but the second release will include, for example, the lower world depth. would it just be a big bedrock wall between the chunks loaded before the second release?

EDIT: apparently the second release is going to be 1.18, just to clarify.

posted a message on So what do you guys think about the new 1.14 textures?

I think they're mostly okay. I personally am not a fan of some of them. I hate the new(?) wood textures, they look sludgy like there's something running down the tree. Also not a fan of wooden planks and stone. Certain things I have gripes with and certain things I like. I have a texture pack that reverts what I don't like, so I guess I like them?

posted a message on My suggestions for new things, please consider them carefully.

The submarine and tent seem a bit out of Minecraft's core "style", and I think Mojang might've said a while ago they weren't going to do weather effects but I'm not fully sure. The breathing helmet is already in the game in the form of the Turtle Shell, providing water breathing for 10 seconds at a time. A direct upgrade would render the turtle shell effectively useless. A few different breeds of dogs would be nice and double horse riding *maybe* for certain horses.

posted a message on Minecraft Java on MacOS.

I personally owned a regular desktop mac back in 2013 when I started playing minecraft, and it didn't run very well, usually 30 - 45 fps and lower in multiplayer. It might've just been that particular mac but who knows, just my personal experience, and from what I've seen it operates better on windows. Not sure why.

posted a message on There is not going to be another minecon but there is going to be a Minecraft Festival

I don't know if they've fully postponed it to 2022 yet. In some places it says "Fall 2022!" and in others it says "Rescheduled for 2021!". I know its probably 2022 but I hope it happens this year considering the coronavirus situation is improving a lot in the US (and its being held in Orlando).

posted a message on Minecraft 1.17 Update Opinion Thread

Its alright I guess. I kinda wish another new ore would be added because diamond is gonna be not so hard to find but they've confirmed that isn't happening. I hate to hate change but the world being lowered below 0 makes things like strip mining irrelevant. Unfortunate but I guess its gotta happen.

posted a message on Any other veterans still out there?

I joined around 2 weeks before the first 1.7 release, remember getting a taste of 1.6.4 then wondering why the game suddenly changed so much in 1.7 lol

    posted a message on Diseases

alright, heres my take on this idea: To simplify it into a more minecraft-ey feature. There be a singular type of disease. Only in hard and hardcore, thats like a cold and you have to do a certain thing like stay near fire or lava. Its more miniscule, but I feel like this is the most probable way for it to be added.

posted a message on evolution survival

This would probably work better than the downgrading survival idea, still might have issues in certain versions though. Overall should work alright with some funky biome issues.

posted a message on Cheyrons Better Default [16x16]

How has nobody commented on this yet? This pack looks great. It doesn't suffer from the common issue of breaking the magic of minecraft with unfit textures. Good work!

If you did that you would probably run out of versions depending on the speed

posted a message on Downgrade survival

sounds like a fun idea, but the versions of minecraft are so different from each other, especially if you go back to older patches. It would probably crash a lot too, and you would have to skip some versions. having the versions go forward instead of backward seems like a better idea, but even then things might get weird.

posted a message on Fletching table's function and new arrow idea.

I like this idea, mostly for the fact that the "generic" potions are given a use here. The arrows are still pretty cool though, good idea.
