So how does one control the distribution of sand? Or are we only able to increase desert biomes' size and frequency?

posted a message on [V1.4_01] BiomeTerrainMod update (Re-read readme!)
Really hate to be one of those guys, but I've been fussing with this for nearly two hours and can't figure it out. I've installed countless mods, I know I'm doing it right, but I just can not get this to do anything to my terrain generation. I move over all contents (as I'd enjoy controlling everything made available) except the readme.txt and the xxxSettings.ini. I put the xxxSettings.ini into the .minecraft folder. Every new world generated has a xxxSettings.ini file in its folder as was said would happen, but none of my configurations do anything. I've tried with the MetaINF folder and the MOJANG's, just the MANIFEST, and without MetaINF at all. I've tried with and without other mods (I install several after a while, but my main choices are SinglePlayerCommands and WorldsOmega with Risu's ModLoader, these are the only ones I've tried during this excursion).

I thought I noticed a difference in the generated terrain when I tried using the floating isles config, but not like the screenshot. And my main test has been trying to change the cloud levels, which has not worked one bit.

^Ok, so that seems to have been my problem^

So. I did get it to finally work. My terrain is generating shelves and whatnot, not quite floating isles, but it's a noticeably enough not Notch happening that I know the mod is doing some of its work. But I can't seem to change the cloud levels at all, they ignore any and all values I put in.

Thank you for keeping this updated! It's my first time playing with it, can't wait for the kinks to get worked out. Kudos!

I've gotten this a couple of times trying to use the reef. I assumed at first that it was some other mod conflicting, but even with just the modloader, this, crystalclearwaters, and single player commands, I get crashed

EDIT: DUH! Thought I read I needed MoreID's, but I didn't see it again. I'll still crash later once I add all my mods. I'll do a trial'n'error, see what's messing me up. I think it's the mining helmets with mcregion and this since they all use the dn.class. I tried his merge but it didn't work. I'll update the situation when I know more.

Just warning people. My launcher just asked me to update. So something's going on with the site. So you may want to get the modified launcher from my signature to continue on in our modded glory ^.^

    Thanks, will reinstall :smile.gif:

Btw, for the first time since I've bought the game i'm getting a "can't connect to minecraft.net" when I try to load up single player, so I click "play offline" would this affect the mod in any way?

    Cheers

No. Notch and them are currently moving the server to an Amazon Cloud so the site's pretty much completely down.

Hi :smile.gif: love the mod, great work, but having a slight problem atm.

The mod has appeared to stop working for me, the command window doesn't open when I press the t key. Apologies if this is really obvious, but has there been any updates to the game which would cause the mod to no longer work? Or shall I just reinstall it and hope for the best? Again, apologies if this is obvious, i'm a newbie :biggrin.gif:

I always suggest reinstalling. It doesn't take all that long to re-mod a jar, and once you have it correct save your bin somewhere and label it with all the mods you install. But that's clearly a problem with your minecraft.class in the net/client folder, it is what enables the chat in single player. Be sure to move over the modded file (and I guess try out the xau-specific one if you use a texture pack).

Yes, no readme's in the jar. It's funny it causes a problem, I've always almost put it in as well, then stop myself last second..

It's not working on my minecraft =/

Here's all the info someone need to know (to eventually try to help)

    MC 1.2_01 Beta
Misa HD texture pack installed through Xau
    AudioMod
    Mo'Creatures
    MrMMods
    ModLoader

    The install instructions used:
    Copy the files into minecraft.jar

    Also tried:
The minecraft.class file from below the youtube vid used instead of the one from the direct download
I think I've tried to delete every single one of them, but still without succes to run this SPC...

    FYI I never had a Meta-Inf folder so I didn't delete it.

Like seronis said, probably user error. Especially using MrM's mods and Xau's HD fix you have to be careful with the order in which you install things. All those are definitely compatible (close to my own usual setup), so keep trying. Over and over. Do things differently every time. I tend to do fine with the HD fix, custom portal and all, and I think it's strictly the order you install in. I think the HD fix just injects code right? So do it absolutely last.

And I'd recommend Minecrafter, it's a program that let's you compile mods together and lets you choose which ones take precedence. Also will show you any compatibility issues between mods and such. viewtopic.php?f=25&t=50971

Yeah, it took a bit of playing with it for me to get it even halfway tophat-ish. I like the weird haircut too lol. I'm still working on it, giving it better shading and deeper color (purple's way too bright right now), and I already did the space in his teeth (above does not have it, obviously). I thought I may be doing something completely original when I made him yesterday, then found your thread lol was like damnit
