Mar 3, 2013I'd like to apply, this seems like a neat setting. (Trumps the endless flood of medieval rps.)Posted in: Forum Roleplaying
Name: orwich goodwinds
Choice: if allowed, I'd like to be I loyal to one specific party and act as a sort of gun for hire.
Inventory: crossbow, 30 bolts of assorted varieties, sling, first aid kit, long trench oat under which my tools are concealed
Other: (I have a backstory in mind, but I think it would be more fun to reveal that as the rp goes on, assuming this picks up.) additionally, my character is fairly silent and only ever talks in brief, gruff, sentences.
I await approval.
Aug 30, 2012"As I'm sure you're well aware, there is currently an ongoing war regarding the last remaining source of water in the land, and I'm setting out to assemble an army to capture it. I was hoping you might provide me with the names of any of your recent customers who might take interest in charging in to battle. I'll need all the help I can get."Posted in: Forum Roleplaying
Aug 27, 2012I decide the best plan of action is to go down to the town market and ask the salesmen if they've had any customers who have shown an exceeding interest in sorcery or combat. I enter Jef DeCart's store and interrupt him taking inventory.Posted in: Forum Roleplaying
"Mr. DeCart, may I speak with you for a moment?"
Aug 27, 2012((okay, I've been overlooking Cole's posts until now to avoid accidental metagaming, and I just assumed the whole time that he was Insulton due to his username. Is Insulton just a random NPC?))Posted in: Forum Roleplaying
I look to the soldier to see if he is as confused by this whole mess as I am. Feeling nervous, I actually grab at the nearest weapon, which looks like some sort of rifle without a stock. Hell if I know what it's name is, I'm not gun expert. I grab a couple mags of ammo that look similar to the one already in the weapon and put them in my pocket, hoping they would actually fit in later.
Aug 27, 2012Since magic kingdom seems to be without a king at the moment, ((I could've sworn somebody already took that role at the time I was filling out my app)) I decide to lead a modest uprising and elect myself leader. Opposition is virtually nonexistent and I rise to power in a matter of days. Deciding my first priority should be gathering control of the patch of water in the center of our warring kingdoms, I begin devising my war plans. The first thing that needs to be done, of course, is to train an army. It is clear after my uprising that there are very few decent warriors in my kingdom.Posted in: Forum Roleplaying
((I can recruit NPCs for now since there are so few RPers, right?))
Aug 26, 2012Story:A team of archaeologists were performing a digging operation in a recently unearthed Greek city where they located an ancient tome written mostly in a language unknown to everyone on the team. From what they could understand, the book narrated forgotten parts of the myth of Pandora's box. When it was opened for the first time, not everything inside of it was released. In it was still one more thing "too great for mere mortals." In an act to protect civilization, the gods took the box and buried it deep in the center of Mount Olympus. A map in the book hints at the location of Mount Olympus around 300 units (a foreign and unusual unit of measurement was used) North of the city the book was found in. Half of the team decided that it would be best to leave the box as is, while the other believed that society has come a long way, and must now be sufficiently equipped to handle, and possibly even tame, whatever remained in the box. The massive difference in opinions divided the team into two factions:Posted in: Forum Roleplaying
The Defenders, who believed that humanity is still incapable of handling the contents of the box, gathered a great deal of food and supplies and set up a camp near the North gate of the city, the only good exit that leads to Mount Olympus.
The Seekers, who wish nothing more than to reopen Pandora's Box, moved the rest of the supplies they had brought into the temple where they found the book, and made that their base of operations. (the temple is a little bit South of the center of the city).
The two factions are now engaged in conflict so heated it borders on war, and this is where our RP begins.
naturally, no godmodding (making your character immortal), metagaming (using knowledge your character wouldn't actually know), or powerplaying (controlling the actions of other characters).
Any text out of character must be put between double parentheses, ((like this)).
Romance is allowed
killing/violence is allowed
swearing is allowed, although not in excess
Put the word 'mountain' in your application somewhere.
you can create a new character if you die, but you must first wait 15 posts.
Faction: You aren't restricted to seekers or defenders. If you'd like to start a new faction (i.e. a news reporter trying to get live coverage of the battle, an arms dealer trying to make business off of flaring tmepers, etc...) you can feel free.
Physical Description: Picture and/or words are fine
equipment: Remember that you weren't expecting a war when you packed for this expedition, so you'll need to justify weapons with their uses in an archeological dig (i.e. I have a crowbar because I might need to pry open a crypt door)
once we have enough RPers, we'll get things started. I'll submit my app when I see how many folks are in each faction, and I'll join up with whichever one is least populated.
Aug 25, 2012wow. I think to myself. this goes way further than I thought. I might be mixed in with a pretty bad crowd. Damn. Just when I was beginning to feel like I could trust them to protect me. At least this new soldier fellow seems trustworthy. They iron that into you in the army, I guess. I swap my seat in the van to the passengers's seat, next to the soldier, justifying my decision by claiming to have incredible eyesight, and that I can spot any more guards un the distance with a clear enough vantage point.Posted in: Forum Roleplaying
