It's looking likely that it's for the Windows 10 version (in effect, Minecraft PE 1.0.9), and may well be accessed through the Windows App Store. I don't have Windows 10, so I can't confirm that, but saying that something's for every version of Minecraft implicitly includes Minecraft Java edition, yet I don't see a way to access these skins, as the Java edition doesn't have an app store interface.
Sigh. Come on, Microsoft. Things weren't this complicated when Mojang owned Minecraft.

The gamers that clamour for harder monsters and better AI were obviously born with a controller in their hand or something. As for me, I used to consider that most games were too hard to play, basically because it appears that 90% of the gaming community has better coordination, can fight better, do stuff quicker and has better gaming machines than I do. My opinion hasn't changed that markedly in the intervening 20 years, although I've got slightly better at Doom(1995). As for the previous commenter, Minecraft is indeed easier than a lot of other games I play, because it focusses on building and collaboration. Monsters (and having to defend against them all) are a pain, but it's not stupidly difficult like some other games I've had a go at and discarded because I'm simply not able to keep up. I find it's a game that allows for children to play alongside older adults, and they both have fun without being blasted off the game because of the dfficulty.
Making the difficulty more "real" is really hard to quantify, because you have to judge what the context is. What was the game designed to do? What are its constraints? Can we even compare it to games like ARMA/CoD (no???) or even games like Terraria/Starbound (closer, but still different)? What is it that these players want? 35 hours spent in the game while you battle just to build a simple brick house? I don't think so, that'd end up being a fight-fest instead of a buildfest and would be far less enjoyable for the casual players among us. We'd probably give up in disgust because it had become yet another DayZ clone, but with blocks instead.

Heh. This made me laugh, as normally I wander into the options.txt, find the offending line, and change the relevant value (renderDistance, I think). Once a tinkerer, always a tinkerer?
Deleting the options.txt is messy for me because of all the keybindings I'd then have to redo along with all the other settings that get stuffed into there by mods I was using before 1.9. Still, it's a valid option if you've made no appreciable changes to your setup, i.e. you still use the standard minecraft bindings. It'll at least give you a clean slate with which to work, and you don't have to chase stupid weird dependencies like I did once.

I created a screen with lots of buttons on for the server I'm on, then when I log into my own server (a different place) I get the same buttons, but all greyed out when I attempt to edit them. I'd like to know how to get the .gui.xml to have multiple sections like the .macros.txt seems to.
I'm on mod_macros_0.11.1_beta2

Nothing turns up in the devel log except INFO level lines: "[CHAT] Starting a new selection at ... ... ..." and "[CHAT] Selection Cleared" when I clear it. I also notice a red grid flash on for a very short time when I do clear the selection, then I get all my normal textures back.
The server is Spigot, I'm not aware of what version it's supposed to be, as I'm not the server owner, but it can accept connections from 1.7.2 clients all the way to 1.8.1 clients (weird). What other information would you like? Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to lend towards this and I'm happy to wait for any likely fixes to turn up.
EDIT: I installed an update to Optifine (HD_U_B4) the issue hasn't gone away. I guess this might just be an Optifine problem.

Not to stir the apple cart or anything, but does anyone (perhaps Mumfrey) know what happened to Improved Chat after 1.6.4? I can't seem to find it anywhere, and I'm rather missing its functionality. To be fair, I haven't investigated anything else yet.

What's even more confusing to others, not only is the bird referred to simply as "kiwi" (look at that kiwi under the bush), it's both singular and plural (see all those kiwi over there). In addition us New Zealanders even refer to ourselves as "Kiwi" (Anika Moa and Dave Dobbyn are Kiwi singers). Other cultures call a Chinese gooseberry a "kiwi" (I'm looking at you Americans here). Chinese gooseberries are called "kiwifruit" here to reduce the confusion about the fruit.

Uhm, seriously? That few? Heck, I'm still downloading it, all be it from the thread here. I care! I don't actually have the expertise to maintain a project like this, so I'm not even going to put my hand up for doing so, but I hope this gets maintained. I can at least take a look at it now.

That's not the case for the sound, as others have wondered why their Minecraft client was playing three tunes simultaneously. The graphics... I don't know. I also haven't checked with other animated items in the hand, just the torch. I originally tested this on Linux, as I normally run my Minecraft under Linux to gain better stability. I checked it again under Vista and thankfully didn't see the same graphical bug, but the sound bug definitely is still there. I've got two tunes playing right now this moment. As for the graphics, I suspect it's a small issue with the graphical driver that I won't be able to do anything about.

The second is evident when I start up a world, and put a torch in my hand. The world goes crazy and all the textures scramble, changing about four or five times a second, until I take the torch out of my hand. At this stage, the world textures settle into the last texture they had loaded (usually completely scrambled). It's not present for 13w41b, but then I guess that's no surprise.
I rather hope they fix these particular bugs.

Edit: hmmm.... it seems that even though it's not reporting to chat any more, I am now getting saved chest contents. Weird, because when I was trying this two nights ago, it wasn't working. Still, I guess I have to save all my chests now.

Hm. I've used mod_macros for quite some time, I love it. It's kept my minecraft butt safe more times than I can count. The recent release of the ImprovedChat liteloader variant is pretty good too, I'm using that to log chat to disk, and keep chats from separate sources in their own tab. I think literally the only thing I'm missing is the ability to highlight chat text from my history.
