I took a look at your map, so far you've got a good thing going here!

The locations you put in place as well as combat seems riveting! My only problem is the level system makes it seem kinda hard to feel excited for whats next. If I could make a recommendation, you should come up with some fancy names for your levels, so if someone decided to peek through, they could have an idea of what to expect once they unlock the level.

Great work! Hope to see more :)

    yep, it's me again

Great news! There's a lot of progress being done on the map, isn't that great?

Anyway, real exciting stuff, maybe once everything looks all nice and sparkly we could go ahead and pump out a neat teaser trailer for it!

Whenever that happens, you'll hear it from me! Here have a (not as exciting as a video) picture teaser!

    Any progress?

Progress is looking swimmingly! We're trying to hold back on showing too much of the map, but if we get anything not too spoilerific we'll give you guys a little sneak peak!

This looks fantastic and you've made an incredible presentation. You could do well to include a video, but the pictures look sweet.

I'm subscribed to this thread now and definitely looking forward to further progress here. As far as I could see from the screenshots, you've absolutely hit that perfect balance between exploration and story. I bet the combat will be riveting as well, judging by your production standard.

This feels like gold in the making.

When you need beta-testers, call me.

That means a whole bunch! We'll definitely have you queued for beta-testing once we have our map in a more stable stage. That goes for anybody else willing to beta-test our maps!

    NIGHT ONE

As I lay near my workstation, I begin to doze off hearing the gentle sounds of the flames in the furnace dancing back and forth. It's so warm in here. I feel very comfortable. Suddenly, a giant crash followed by a extremely horrifying roaring sound filled the air. What is happening? I peek outside of my small cave opening and gasp in awe as the world is riddled with giant bolts of lightning, exploding on impact. The world begins to slowly erode as these explosions blast through the sides of the once beautiful and peaceful forest. Suddenly, huge forest flames emerge from the trees and spread rapidly. The world is in utter shambles, even the undead is turned in this horrific event, as they all scramble to avoid the powerful blasts of energy and rapid striking of lightning.

As I bask in the glory of the massive destruction of the world, I have put my life in great danger. The floor beneath me fell loose as it suddenly exploded with raw energy. My body flew across the river like a ragdoll, luckily I landed safely in the water. I swam back into my cave to nurse my wounds, only to realize that fires are beginning to emerge from within. Could there really be no escape?

As the night progresses, the explosions and lightning get even worse. It's almost as if the world is consuming itself. Every dream, every vision that I have ever had with these lands have been crushed right in front of my eyes. The hopes of a beautiful place to call home vanished. The hopes of someday ruling a thriving kingdom, shattered. I stare at the destructive atmosphere in awe once more as I lose more and more hope.

The moon began to sink back into the horizon. As it went down, the sounds of explosions and the eruption of energy the world began to dissipate. I turn to see the rays of the sun shining behind the ruined mountains. Praise be to the sun! Perhaps I could find something to eat within the smoldering craters that litter the once beautiful land. This begins my new day. Who knows what will be in store?

    END OF NIGHT ONE

    Hello everybody!

I figured I would give Minecraft journalism a try. Let me know what you guys think!

    (World and client details)

    Minecraft ver. 1.11.2

    + Optifine

The world is an amplified world, with difficulty set to hard and game mode set to hardcore.

    Seed: -2630850138600738561

A couple of command blocks are set up to... well, you'll see.

    DAY ONE

I wake up in a beautiful valley, trees surround the area giving the environment a breath of fresh air, cows and sheep frolic in the breeze as they enjoy their beautiful nature home, grazing the green grass happily. Everything looks so peaceful, but for some reason a feeling of dread weighs on my shoulders.

I stand up and started hiking down the path with a small waterfall leading into the forest. I figured if I'm going to be stuck here, I'll need to at least have some basic tools. I chopped down some trees and made a wooden sword and a wooden pickaxe. As I walked through the woods, I discovered that the valley is actually very close to the open sea. I saw a glimpse of a beautifully tall sand pillar with a tree atop it. At the very least I've got a great source of water, maybe I could linger around here for just a while longer.

As I went back into the forest, I came across a glimpse of massive lands floating high into the sky. Determined, I set toward the skylands, hopefully I could find a great vantage point from up there. I set towards it, into the dark forest, where anything could happen.

As I traversed through the thick foliage, I came across plenty of mushrooms and flowers. Luckily there were no monsters, I'm ill prepared to fight them. I looked up to see if I could locate the islands I sought to conquer, although my view was heavily obstructed by clouds and leaves. In hopes of finding a better area to see from, I see far in the distance some tall tall mountains. The sheer size of them trumped the height of the sky islands I saw. In pursuit for only the best of the best, I decided to leave the sky islands in favor for these beautifully sharp mountains.

After quite some time of traveling through a large river, I finally reach a valley reaching into the tall mountains. Immediately I spot out in the grass a cave. Perhaps it might be a good idea to start forging some better materials. There is a lot of potential for this place. Perhaps someday it will be home to one of the best homes this world has ever seen. Or maybe even a thriving civilization. Although, I still have this strange feeling... As if something isn't right.

I've set up a small workshop inside the cave. The cave extends for much longer, and it is incredibly dark inside. I decided to burn some of the logs that I have chopped down in the forest to create some torches. I will need to light the way if I have any hopes of finding out what's inside.

Night is beginning to fall. I have no clue why, but I feel like tonight... monsters will be the least of my worries. I better shelter up and lay low for tonight. Maybe everything will be okay by tomorrow...

looks nice and not like the most maps where 75% is just fighting it looks like much explore cool

That's the idea! I've also been innovating some fun ways for combat, bosses being a lot more than just regular mobs with a giant health bar. The plan is to have something more strategy based, for instance, you would have to "weaken" the boss before you could do some damage. That keeps the fight challenging, fun, and all while not making it that long! (I think that's pretty cool)

That huge tree on the island is probably my favorite part. It looks really cool.

Thanks! We've got some very interesting story interlaced with that island, it's one of my favorites too!

Looking great! I admire the breadth of areas you have here, it really gives your map a lot of depth, and makes it feel like a great adventure! I'm looking forward to seeing where you will be taking this map, it really brings the vibe of the old fashioned adventure maps back in the beta days! Keep up the great work!

This looks interesting, I like the buildstyle - it has a certain simple charm about it, like a lot of traditional adventure maps. Like rabid mentioned, there's very few good adventure maps around these days since so many people focus on minigames and gimmicks, so I hope this project goes well.

Thanks! And yes, I wanted to go for a more humble feel, as this is my very first adventure map. I wanted to keep things simple, not going as big and grand as Herobrine's Mansion. I wanted to opt for a more traditional feel, similar to BlameTheController's Kingdom of the Sky and ChronoBasher's Professor Grizwald adventure map series. I felt that those two had a perfect balance of having compelling narratives, and at the same time retaining some very simple design aspects.

My intentions for this map is to give a memorable experience to anybody, from the charm of humble little homes with teeny tiny details, to the stories and events that occur in the world's landscape.

Hopefully these ideas can come into fruition, as I would love to see the vision we've created to be completed.

Thank you for your interest, your support helps us find the motivation to move forward!
