I still don't understand how this hasn't gotten much attention... Bump for the sake of success?

This. I just found the whole lot of these generators via the Minecraft wiki, and I have to say, it has made my day (and I thought I was having a pretty good day already!).

    Keep up the great work!

Also, because C# is the first and only programming language I've learned, I might try to make something similar, but more basic. If you could point me in the right direction, that would be great!

But more importantly, keep up the great work and diamonds to you!

posted a message on What are your favorite Minecraft Minigames?
My favorite minigame is capture the flag.
You select a class, similar to the ones in TF2, and then run through the map, killing people while trying to capture the flag. Or you can defend and prevent others from taking yours.
    The server name was mcctf.com

I find it a lot of fun, and it does not really feel like playing Minecraft, more like another game entirely

Thanks to all 2000+ who have downloaded this map.

The map has now been updated. Changes are as follow:

50 plays, no longer the need to copy the map again and again.
Added 2 lines of pressure plates to restart the TNT later on (prevents bugs and increases the challenge)

But once again, thanks to everyone who ever downloaded!

Funny. The only language I know is Visual C#, and all this java code looks exactly the same as C# code. That will probably help me out a lot if I ever do make a mod for Minecraft. Thanks

You can't update mods. You have to re-install them when they come out for Minecraft version 1.5

posted a message on Is it legal to copy creations from other public servers?
    Quote from ravendreams

You don't seem to understand how the copyright system works. There is nothing either server owner can do if anyone logs into there server, and copys a building or idea they found there. None of there work is copyrighted, because they are unable to have it copyrighted in a video game for which they do not own the liscense to. They can both rage and scream all they want but neither has any claim to the object in question.

If the objects in question where real world items, and the designer went through the correct steps to have it copyrighted. Then and only then could they file leagle course and have it dealt with. But as this is all inside of a video game which none of us here own the leagle rights to. We only own the rights to use the software as deemed by the company that copyrighted it.

I believe you misunderstand my point, and I feel like you stating that I don't know anything about the copyright system is unwarranted.
    http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ01.pdf
The following link is where I am getting my information. It clearly says on page 1 that authors of original works have the rights to copy their work and have it publicly displayed. It also states that it is illegal for someone else to violate the authors copy rights. Further down on page 3 it states:

The way in which copyright protection is secured is frequently misunderstood. No publication or registration or other action in the Copyright Office is required to secure copyright.Copyright is secured automatically when the work is created, and a work is “created” when it is fixed in a copy or phonorecord for the first time.

So people do actually have claims to copyrights on Minecraft creations. The question is, will any one actually sue another person for copying their work?

What I want people to know, is that just because someone didn't formally copyright something, doesn't mean it isn't protected.

I am not a lawyer, but I have provided evidence for what I know to be true. If you wish to point out something I have missed, please provide evidence that anyone can look up.

strenbeath, don't misquote me. I didn't say that, BeastMineCraft did (I do agree with it though)

and I'm going to clarify my point: I know that if a work is created, that work is his and he is the only one who can claim copyright. Meaning, he can choose to prevent anyone else from copying his works.

In other words it is up to the creator to ensure that his rights are preserved.

What's happened here, is that one person has copied a build from one server and claimed it as their own. The copier probably thought it was okay, since people who play Minecraft generally don't care about if a few meaningless blocks are copied. However, the creators are not okay with this action and are demanding that the copier gets rid of what they did illegally copy. The creators are very correct: that is their work, and since they do mind people copying it, they are taking action to prevent it from being copied.

So hutt132 better do as they ask before he gets sued, his server shut down, his village invaded by flesh eating zombies, or a combination of the previous.

Everyone here (mostly) is saying that this action of taking a build off of someone else's server is legal.

This assumption is not valid, and copying their build is probably illegal. I'm no lawyer, but I do know that once a work is created, it is protected by US copyright laws. I looked it up online just now and I've confirmed this.

Assuming whoever built the spawn is a US citizen (which may or may not be a good assumption), they have complete control over their works. And you copied it, you are breaking copyright laws.

posted a message on WHAT IS THIS THING AND HOW DO I DESTROY IT!?!?!?
The question I have, is how the heck did whoever it was build the Ender Crystals there in the first place.

It's not like you can just switch to creative and plop them down.

posted a message on Should I use mods?
It's all your choice. But I would say I used to be a no-mods-how-could-you-possibly-even-think-of-using-mods person and after trying out some mods, I definitely see why people play them. It's fun and it gives you something new to do in what might feel as a dead game. I recommend trying out mods, and then after modding the heck out of one world, go back to playing normal Minecraft. You'll find that playing Minecraft feels new again. Just make sure to either back up or not play on your vanilla worlds while using mods. If you can, use a custom mod pack/launcher because those let you switch back and forth from mods to no modes without having to worry about messing up your worlds.

    Rooms
    The hardest maze in Minecraft
About: So you think mazes are easy? Rooms is a puzzle map in which players navigate from room to room, trying to obtain a music disc and get back to the start, without going insane of course. This map will really test your ability to navigate a fiendishly diabolical maze.

    Rules:
    1. Play on peaceful
    2. Play in Survival mode (should be automatically)
    3. Don't go through portals, nether or end
    4. Don't kill yourself in the maze.
    5. Try to find a way out
    6. Comment on this page xD

    Things to know:
Even with quite a bit of knowledge of the maze, it took me 103 minutes to find my way out.
Use signs and books to help you keep track of where you are. Use the bottles of enchantment to gain signs. Trust me, do what ever you can to help yourself navigate.
You can break any blocks once inside. You're surrounded by bedrock so you can't escape without the music disc.
There are a total of 100 rooms. Each room has a twin which looks just like it. There are also rooms flooded with water.
The probability of a person taking all the right routes and making it to the music disc room first try is 1/5184. Therefore 1/5184 people will think this map was really easy. The other 5183 people will probably not finish because the probability of randomly getting to the disc room will decrease after just one wrong move.
If you are that special 1 out of 5184, forget about the map and try it again another day. You probably won't be able to remember exactly what you did.

Make a video of your journey through the maze, comment, and then I'll post it up here for all the world to admire (and wish you a speedy recovery back from insanity)
