Not true. Resourcepacks, better and more servers, optifine makes the game run better anyways, java edition doesn't screw over the tons of people who have Linux, Mac, and pre-w10 PCs, PVP is more fair on java because everyone rocks mouse/kb, servers with bukkit/spigot plugins, COMMAND BLOCKS (this is extremely massive if you've ever been in management of a server), w10 edition is too easy to pirate, shaders is paid, no server resourcepacks, the option to revert versions, people can basically be unbannable on W10 servers (VPN/changing username). Do you want me to continue the list?

Honestly, the marketing of this is going to be what kills MC for good. Too many people are going to accidently buy the extremely-inferior MC w10 edition instead of the java edition. The marketing itself is just a slap in the face.

The game died when 1.9 came out and ruined it.
1.9 was a big step in the wrong direction, 1.10, 1.11 and 1.12 now have been proceeding that direction. I still am salty about the combat delay. -

So basically Microsoft is trying to kill of linux and OS X support for the game, by progressing the other versions further and releasing bad limited updates for the java version. Nice try, we have mods, and our community has grown because of the bad updates.

Console and mobile both run on C++, just get them to the same version and done. Then just recode the pc version of the game to C++ (They already have done most of it with windows 10 edition) and you are staring at cross play. -

This is old news.

You guys are really slow XD
As to other people. This launcher is so cool. It allows skin changing on the go before launching the game (no longer will you have to log into your browser to change your skin. Go to the tab and bam, skin changed)
The new launcher is pretty nice, font looks good, although I liked the Minecraft font that was at the start of the development. You can create new tabs more efficiently (Gamemodes as in, Forge or Optifine or old MC versions).
In general I prefer the new launcher over the old one. It's just better.
Its the nostalgia factor mostly. And after testing the new launcher (I've been following this on reddit, launcher testing since october) I can see their stance. It is a handcrafted nostalgic theme, reminding people of the days of 2010 and 2011. It definitely leaves a slight dash of the yogscast on me every time I launch it (best minecraft series ever). -

Rip, I used to have a chromebook. I "Hacked" Linux onto it, installed java and played minecraft everyday on it.
Sometimes I go turn it on for the nostalgia. I am slightly afraid every time that the battery might explode though.
That thing was not in good health by the time it was replaced... -

Yes, however it will be nice to see a portable version getting updates (Is the Vita still getting updates for MC? I don't think it is.) -

Considering that the Apple TV 4th gen has 2gb ram, and a dual core 1.5GHZ Apple A8, it's not going to be at all on par with console editions, and it's probably not going to run the pocket port phenomenally either unless they strip the graphics/draw distance down.
Also, how are you going to control it?

Feb 29, 2016bobotheboss111111 posted a message on EULA Enforcement Underway?Posted in: News
My thoughts on the EULA:
Servers with ranks more than 100$ should not be allowed. I own a $10 rank that helps keep the server I play on up, and it gives me basically a second /kit member every day. (Except the armor is iron prot 2 instead of normal iron.) I support small donations and small rewards that are not gamebreaking and still everyone has a chance but not the servers were you pay $400 and nobody can ever kill you because you have full prot 4 diamond. People don't realize that if the EULA is reinforced even for small things here and there, Nobody will ever just donate for the hell of it to the owner to keep it up and it will die like the rest. That is what is happening to a server service called grappl.io (http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-tools/2468069-grappl-run-a-server-on-your-computer-in-a-few) but that is for another day. Minecraft would turn into 24 person servers because every big server would run out of money and the community would spread out on many servers. People can afford $15 a month for a 40 slot beastmode server. Hypixel probably pays a lot more than $15 for their server a month. Hubs would die. I am glad to hear Mineplex weaved around it with cosmetics. One server that will stay together. I wonder what the hive and hypixel will do though.

On a mac and having trouble downgrading java 9-12 to 8 so you can use technic/forge? Well, I have created a script that automatically will remove java so you can install your older version.

Ever wanted to play a modpack with a lot of content, but not have any of the bloat? You know, those mods that are pretty useless but still overwhelm you? Essentix is the perfect balance, including all of the essential mods, but no extra garbage. The point of essentix is to create a balanced experience. Many modpacks try to throw as many compatible mods into a pack as possible, which overwhelms the user. Nobody likes spending your whole day reading wiki pages, so why should you have to?

Have PermissionsEx working just fine, I just can't give my friends permissions to use any pixelmon or pixelmonextras commands for whatever reason. Pixelmon 3.5.1, MC 1.7.10, Pex 1.22.10, and KCauldron. Have put in (what I think are) all of the nodes, but they just can't execute the commands. Any ideas?
Update: Opped one of my friends and now he can use the commands, just.. I don't want all my friends to have OP.

Alpha 1.5.4/1 has been released for MC 1.11.2 and 1.12.2.
Changelog:
- Adds soy milk, crafted by putting soy in the crafting table with milk.
This is a development version, so is only available from the project page, not the widget. You can access my project page here.
Anyways, that is all, pushing to release alpha 1.6 by early summer. Oh, and if you for some reason do not like 1.5.4/1, you can revert to alpha 1.5 at any time!
Edit (april 23, 2018);
Alright, soy milk and this update were a bad [and failed] april fools prank. please don't actually use this version. I won't fix any issues you have with this meme update. download standard alpha 1.5 and not this version.

March 25th status update:
Haven't worked on the mod or even checked this page in months, where'd we get 7.3k downloads from? I might try a mini patch today (last day of my spring break), but making large progress is very tough with 4 versions of minecraft to make the update for.
edit- tried adding lobster. didn't work. Next attempt for alpha 1.6 projected release date set for June 10th.
edit 2- so it turns out mcreator for 1.7.10 and 1.10.2 is gone from my desktop... if its not on backed up on my laptop, its safe to say that this is the end of development for 1.7.10 and 1.10.2. Guess my computer decided for me that it was time to go with those two versions.

I can safely say that this will absolutely destroy Vanilla MC, and if you want you can just throw in a graphics card later on for shaders mod or even much more demanding games (throw in a $150 graphics card and you could be running battlefield 1 easily on low-medium settings at 1080p, with 60fps).

I am extremely inactive nowadays and haven't actually played more than 15 minutes in the last year, but if you look you might be able to find a good server that fits your needs. Also, I highly discourage realms, unless you absolutely need the convenience factor. Buying a server is cheaper per month in a lot of cases. If you'd prefer to keep it simple, go with a realm. Otherwise, a cheap server is a decent option too. This is assuming your friend is also on the java version. This is where Microsoft's naming really gets frustrating. Ask him if he has windows 10 edition or java edition.

Alpha 1.5, the thanksgiving day patch, has been released. Here is the short changelog:
- added mashed potatoes
- added turkey
Please be patient while it uploads to the curse page. If you do not want to wait, you can download it now from my project page.
Do not expect an update after this one for a few months at least. Pushing updates out for 4 versions of minecraft is very time-consuming.
EDIT:
Also funny thing, Black Ops 2 was open on my PC without me realizing the whole time I developed the patch for all 4 versions of MC. Guess I'll go play that now (lol).

Alpha 1.4 has been ported to Minecraft 1.12.2! Nothing (at least I think nothing) has changed from the other Alpha 1.4 versions. I have only had time to do limited testing on it, so I am not sure exactly how stable it is. Please report and bugs that you find on this thread.
It is not on the curse page yet at the time I am writing this, but it is available right now on my curseforge project page. If you wish to download it now, download it from there.
I will be honest in saying that I have not even started Alpha 1.5 yet. Maybe during Winter break I could throw something together, but for now, don't expect updates until at least then.
Also, one of the older versions may unfortunately have to go. I am looking at 1.7.10 and 1.10.2, maybe even both. Developing just 1.11.2 and 1.12.2 alone would be a LOT easier and I would be able to pump out updates faster.

sure.
EDIT:
And MCreator for 1.12.2 has finally been released. Port may be on the way.

November status update:
Really been held up by school, haven't worked at all on alpha 1.5. Currently, 1.12 version of MCreator is STILL not finished somehow.
(Source: MCreator.net)
Currently at a stalemate. Maybe during winter break I can get a quick update done, but until then don't expect much.
0
September status update:
Alpha 1.5 is not under development yet. I have ideas that I could probably implement quickly however. I am waiting for MCreator for MC1.12 to make Alpha 1.5, however it is taking quite a while, and if by mid-october it has not been released, I will probably just march ahead and launch it for only 1.10.2 and 1.11.2.
1.7.10 may not end up receiving Alpha 1.5 if MC1.12.1 gets MCreator. If it doesn't, 1.7.10 will likely get the update.

I feel like this is slowly sort've happening. But only sort've. Let me explain (before you attempt to roast me).
The game is in a crucial moving stage of its community. 5 years ago, the community was maybe 1/2 people under the age of 10. And 1/2 people over 10. I get that these aren't statistics, but just keep reading. As time has gone on, more and more people from the over 10 demographic have been leaving, and more and more people under 10 have been taking their place. For the servers, this really isn't a massive difference. Newbs playing on their server and buying ranks are the same as pros doing it. For communities like this one however, it has been very bad. Because the newbs don't go straight to the forum, because they want to play more, and discuss less. And the more experienced older players leaving, are the ones on this forum site! What we need is either enough people to cling on, or the newbs to start coming onto the forums and learning. Just my theory.

1. Full log please?
2. Have you tried the good ol' "Remove a mod until it works" method yet?

When you restart your computer in the middle of a gameplay session with freinds online because something is messed up (like your microphone drivers, or a program), and then are forced an update (Which can take ages!) down your throat, it definitely feels bad. Even if it was just a reminder when you turned on your PC, thats a lot better than "Heres the update file, stuff it!"
The fact that you have to actually spend 10 minutes using google and youtube to disable autoupdates is just stupid. Its my OS, give me freedom. If new malware gets reported, I'll update. Simple as that.
