posted a message on [DEV] Looking for an Experienced Developer
Hello sir, I am interested in this offer, although I would like to know a bit more about this plugin. I am experienced with Java programming. I have three and a half years of programming experience total, mostly with C++. I started Java two years ago, although it is very similar to Java, so most if not all of the skills that I have learned in my time programming C++, I can use to aid my Java-programming ability.

I am accustomed to Java programming very well, as stated above. I am also comfortable with SQL and database programming. I am familiar with the bukkit API to some extent, although I pick up things extremely quickly. While I cannot provide you with examples of previous Java plugins I have developed (for legal reasons), I can provide some small samples of code if this is required to evaluate my ability.

If you would like to discuss this with me, please add me on skype: jake.springer59

If you give me the job, after I complete the plugin, I will allow you to test it as much as you would like. if you are not satisfied in any way, you will not have to owe me a cent. I can assure you though, you will be satisfied with my work.

    Thank you.

posted a message on Builders Needed for VariantPvP. I will pay $$!
I may want to help as a developer, but I would like to know a little more before I start. Could you put some details about how you imagine the server to be? Remember, in the computing world almost ANYTHING is possible, as long as you can imagine it. Don't be afraid to mention some things that seem way too hard or impossible. Even custom blocks are possible (to some extent).

If you must contact me to talk about it via skype, feel free, although I would much rather you post here before adding me on skype. I am not sure that I want to participate in this yet, but I will be able to decide with more detail.

    Welcome to Creeprika!
We are a fun, super-hard PvP and PvE server.

You have to survive and work your way into power in the world, while having to deal with armored zombies, tons of skeletons, and super-charged creepers. Go out in the world and find a place to survive!

    Rules:
This server has a few rules, please read them:
    • Do not spam.
    • Do not hack or do anything that will give you an advantage.
    • Do not grief with your fist, or when players are offline. TNT cannons, creepers, and any other way of griefing is allowed.
    • If you have to ask about a rule, it's probably not allowed, except for the rules about griefing.
    • Be respectful, and have fun!
    • Type "/apply creep" in game, if you agree to the rules. You will get promoted to member.
    • Use common sense please, do tell anyone about that command above. Have them read the rules themselves.

I have a couple questions, if I were to buy a server and wanted to use the Craftbukkit dev versions (or just a custom .jar in general), is it possible to do that? I do realize that they are unstable, but I trust them enough to want to run a server on them. Also, do we have full access over the MySQL databases (as in be able to edit them with phpMyAdmin or other software of the same purpose)? I am a plugin developer and would like to be able to set up the database for my plugin manually incase I need to change anything about it.

    Thanks for contacting us!

    1. With server MC server purchase you get 1GB HDD and 4GB of BW free for the web hosting package. But if you get a dedicated server we can make it much bigger :)

    2. It is fully controllable by you. It is the manager cPanel so you can install WordPress and phpBB no problem. With our software you can install them in just a few clicks.

    3. We do rent full servers. We are currently running a sale on them:

-Intel Core i7-2600 Quad Core 3.4Ghz CPU w/ HT
    -32GB DDR3-1333 RAM Memory
-1TB SATA HDD or 120GB SSD
    -25TB Premium Bandwidth / 1Gbps Port
    -5 IP's / Private VLAN

    $135/monthly
If you are paying yearly it would be $1350 (2 Months Free)

Let me know if you have anymore questions!

    Thank you for the information!

A few of my friends and I are interested in starting a large public Minecraft server and renting the server here. I just have a few questions.

    1. For the free Web Hosting, what do we get? Are we limited to the space and bandwidth that we get with the server?

    2. For the free Web Hosting, can we install programs such as WordPress and phpBB?

    3. Do you offer renting out full server nodes if I wanted to rent one? If so, about how much would one cost per month/year. (If I were to get my server popular enough to be able to afford a full server node, I would probably rent it by the year if I could)

If there is somewhere where all or most of this information could be found and I just didn't see it, let me know!

    Thanks for your time! ~bobiscool59

    MCSA - Minecraft Sports Association

Note: We are under extremely early development stages.

    What it is?
The Minecraft Sports Association is going to be a large server that people can play the Minecraft version of sports. There will be competitions, large sport events, and daily games and practices.

    Who is helping with this?
Right now, as of 10/7/2012, this is a solo project, and this is why I am posting this thread. I need a bunch of people to help me with everything, including setting up and running the server, setting up and managing the website, building the arenas/fields and creating the city that will be the home of the project. If you would like to help, read the bottom.

When is this going to happen?
Right now, I don't know. I am in the earliest development stage of the server. However, I will be updating this thread with updates whenever possible so please bookmark the link here.

If you would like to help with this, post below with the following information. Be sure to sound professional and use correct grammar. Age does not matter as long as you make up for it with maturity and act professional.

You may PM me if you would like, but PMing me does not increase your chance of getting in.
    • Include your name
    • Tell me about yourself and what timezone you are in
    • Include the time (as in weekend, during the week, what time each day, etc) that you can help
    • Include what you would like to help with and what you can do
    • Include any qualifications and anything that would prove to me that you are up for the job
    • Include anything extra that you feel needs to be said

posted a message on Question about chunks
For a minecraft server, I'm pretty sure that some chunks stay loaded when everyone leaves. Which stay loaded? Is it the chunks near the spawn or the chunks near 0,0? Also, is there a way to make all chunks unload when everyone leaves the server with a bukkit plugin of some sort?

    Thanks in advance.
