Take 2 similar things. Let's say 2 diamond picks.
Normally in total you would get about 2300 uses from those combined. With repairing you would get an extra 150 uses as long as you wait for when both are below 1 third of their durability left.

cobaltwarrior19 posted a message on Red Stone Powered Fence PostsRedstone powered fence posts for use with the new redstone lamps. I've noticed in multiplayer servers, fence posts are used as lamp posts with a block of glowstone on top for the lamp.Posted in: Suggestions
With the addition of redstone lamps, glowstone is no longer needed to be used as a lamp, however when it's sitting on top of a lamp post, it will be very hard to power, unless it's standing right next to a wall with redstone behind the wall.
That's where the redstone powered fence post comes in. It can be powered by any of the common means of redstone circuitry, as well as power blocks around it, including other powered fence posts.
Powered fence posts wouldn't have to only be used as lamp posts though. They could also be used to open gates, and be used to power traps
R=Redstone
F=Fence
RRR
RFR
RRR This would be the recipe for crafting the powered fencepost.

They'll always spread downward, but they'll only spread outward if there are almost no other vines nearby.
I'm not sure what the exact numbers are. -

Kairo posted a message on Experience JarThe idea behind this is simple; you keep your levels stored away. It keeps them safe when you die, and it might even have the opportunity to look pretty on a wall. It would be just a jar, but not just a jar. It'd be a glowing jar that holds all of those hard earned, monster-slayer experience points that you just earned over the last 4 hours before that one last creeper detonates all your hopes and dreams.Posted in: Suggestions
Now, admittedly I personally haven't paid much attention to enchanting. This I regret, as now I've increased my own interest and life is getting easier. But most of the time, my apathetic views toward the new addition were mostly because of the fact that I die. A lot. And having a storage unit for these levels would make the creative group of Minecrafters much more fond of enchanting.
The construction of the jar isn't cheap, of course. Something so valuable should never be. The basic component of the jar would be diamonds, because if you're going to be storing your memories in a jar you don't want it to break, right? Right. Plus a little something magical; possibly glowstone dust, glowstone blocks, or maybe even varying levels of items (redstone, lapis, varying obtainable single-item substances and the like). This would all make it seem like you're keeping your precious, precious memories that you've learned from stabbing numerous monsters in the face in a nice, unbreakable little container.
Now the fun part; making them place-able. They could be these little blue jars, that as you fill them with your experience levels starts to get this nice little green glow (reminiscent of those green orbs that fly at your character). And, once full, a jar's graphic could switch from this green liquid substance inside to this swirl of green-and-yellow that'd make any alchemist's lab look complete, and any warlock's library look a bit more magical.
Possibly, you could place them on a flat surface as like everything else, right click and enter the number of levels you wish you deposit or withdraw. Or, to keep that little feel of saving up, it could take all your levels at once on multiple occasions, but always deposit the max amount it has into your Minecraft avatar's blocky head.
Think of it like a bowl of that memory-juice from Harry Potter, except less grotesque and not quite as voyeuristic. And another thing to consider is the ability to share those experience points with other players, making the jars pick-up-able after they have levels put in and making them a viable trading item.
tl;dr: It's a jar you put your experience levels in.
If you love this idea, are confused by it, or just bloody hate it, please post and let me know! It'd be awesome to hear your input, and I'd be glad to clarify anything. And if you have additional suggestions to add on about the amazing experience jar, please don't hold back. A creative mind is a terrible thing to waste. However, you simply dislike it for the purpose of, "Oh no, it changes how exp is viewed," then please, don't post. Or, if you do, help me meet you in the middle.
Possible modifications to original idea:
Caps made from expensive/rare materials to limit jar-use.
Taxation for using the jar in the form of health (More levels at a time, more health drained.)
No portability whatsoever: place it, put your levels in. It breaks, you lose em.
Fixed level depositing/withdrawing per Minecraft day.
Soul sand as "fuel" to keep the levels IN the jar; experience will drain over time if the soul sand runs out.
Endermen being able to run off with your jar (Maybe kill 'em to get it back?)
Instead of a jar, a bowl made of Enderpearls.
Level depositing via experience POINT amounts (which is more tangible, anyways.)
Singular, craftable bottles for experience.
Completely Nether-based materials. (Maybe an actual use for Netherrack besides ever-burning?)
2:1 storage ratio for exp. (2 exp would store as 1 exp and so on.)

it is very simple to calculate your current xp. X*7+(x-1)*7+(x-2)*7 etc -> 7*(x+x-1+x-2...) ->
7*(0.5x*(x+1)) -> 3.5x(x+1) -> 3.5x^2+3.5x
This should all be added to the xp in your current level ofcourse.
this makes it:
Y=3.5x^2+3.5x+k
Where x = current level
Where k = current experience in level
And Y = Total XP

Farteh16 posted a message on The Planning TablePosted in: SuggestionsThe Planning Table
What every Study room needs!
Image
The model isn't the final thing. I won't update a new one but just to note, there are only 3 papers placed on the board, the black stuff is a book and it should have an ink bowl and a feather but I don't know how to model them.
The Planners Table is made out of three separate parts. The body, the board and the writing set.
The Body-
The Board-
The Writing Set-
I am dreadfully sorry that you had to see the brutal massacre of artistic beauty but I don't know how to show you the crafting. My artwork (I don't even think it is considered "art") hath butchered the beauty of Minecraft, I am sorry.
For the sake of not damaging anybody's brain further (Imagine the hospital bills from those three pictures alone.. *shudders*) I shall leave your imagination to see the outcome when these three are crafted together.. Or you can look at the model at the top of the page though it is slightly inaccurate. In both cases, you guys can make bird droppings look good compared to any of my amateur attempts.
The Purpose
Horrible art aside I shall discuss more about my idea in text, my more preferred form of explaining.
The Planners Table occupies a 2x1x2 in Length, Width and Height. If it helps think of its shape as two large chests stacked on top of each other.
Now, the Planners table is for those who has nothing to do when he has an epic house, a superultramegarific house, or a house that is better than mine. The table has several uses. Firstly, it has a map placer where you can place a map there. When you place another the current map pops out like a record from a jukebox. The second feature are reminders. Those are the three papers on the wall. You can select each of them and write as much as you can write in a sign. Useful for reminding yourself when you are checking your map and then looking up and saying "Oh yeah! I gotta craft a map! Imaginary maps go only so far.". The final addition is a book. It contains 10 pages with a lot of space. You can even draw on it.
There are other special uses too. With the map in place there you can draw on the map while it is placed. You can forge maps if you are skilled or name important locations. Or you can invent some pseudo code only other people in your undercover organization of trained cubes can read.
You can enchant the map by placing either Redstone, Glowstone or even those new stuff I haven't seen nor touched with me own square hands and eyes. Meh, whatever. For now I will use the two dusts and nobody will be able to stop me.
Redstone would make the map automatically update. If anything new happens the map would automatically update on it. Glowstone adds dots to the map that symbolize moving targets. Purple for players and red for anything not a player. You can place the two at once making it a good sort of "Satellite Monitoring" device you can use to check for nearby players without leaving the safety of your home.
When equipped with an Ender Pearl and clicking a part of the map you will select a pixel (It will color light green) and if you right click you will be sent there. Good travel use too.
Now you can have a functioning and useful thing to do while you wait the night out. Or if you're a town leader or some important person of the town, you can use this to make guard of the townspeople, check if anybody's missing, newcomers, mobs, animals, and seeing the progress of the town with ease.
Another use if for war. Strategy is important and a command center is very important. Place on your reminders the commands and assaults you will do, the map to monitor for enemy movement and base movement and the environment to give you an advantage and the book to write down your entire bases' defenses and your strategies. Be careful of infiltrators!
And if added with lots of other stuff out there in the suggestions forum like horses, defenses and stuff, Minecraft would feel like one of those games where everything is square and you can be free to do with what you want (Like Minecraft and only Minecraft!) but better and with more stuff.

Perhaps you could make a block that would prevent them from teleporting within a certain distance of that block? You could bury these along the land to hide them and create a vast area nobody could teleport into. Of course this wouldn't affect spawns/nether/aether portals or prevent people from teleporting OUT of an area, as well as player commands (mods still need to moderate? amirite?)

AkaSquirticus posted a message on Placing GlowstoneSo while i was messing around with redstone an idea came to mind. Why can't you place glowstone dust. It would be pretty much the same as a powered redstone trail but it would be yellow and brighter. I think this is a relatively simple idea but could be used to create cool designs. Here's a quick example i came up with (not the best but should get the point across).Posted in: Suggestions
Just wanted to see if you guys agree with me on this one. - To post a comment, please login.

The seed is: im tired of trying seeds
Here is what you get from the first village:
Here are the items from the second village:
1 iron legging
2 bread
6 apples
14 iron ingots :ohmy.gif:
1 iron sword
3 gold ingots
7 saplings
1 iron pickaxe
3 diamonds
That's a lot of ingots and saplings in total! However, if you really want obsidian or more diamonds, you'll have to find another village. But those are supposed to be rare anyways. Still, if you find obsidian, tell me! If you do manage to get enough obsidian from chests or lava, then if you build a portal 40 blocks above the spawn point, you should appear in or near a nether fortress.
This seed is perfect for those who want to survive in superflat but don't want to explore endless flat terrain for enough resources.

He's saying that he found two rooms where nether wart is supposed to generate, but the nether wart wasn't there. For nether wart, you can tell it's supposed to be there by the staircase with soul sand on either side, but diamonds just generate randomly underground, so this post is nothing like saying that.

I've seen tons of flatland seeds with exactly 0 villages around spawn. It is not average to spawn inside the village church.
To OP: Thanks for finding a cool seed! :smile.gif:
