No. I am not the same bluebarron as on xbox live. He spelled it wrong. Baron is a semi-powerful figure, Barron means nothing.
Sorry I can't play anymore, the dumb client stopped working for me. I'm really frustrated right now.

    In a terminal:
    cd /Users/Dragonshark/Library/Application Support/
    chmod -R +rwx minecraft

If the folder name isn't minecraft, and it's .minecraft or something, change it accordingly. I really hope this helps you. I hate it when I don't get help.

Minecraft was working fine tonight, but then I got on and it wouldn't work anymore. I didn't do anything that would have changed it at all. I deleted my bin folder, and the same result. It shows the login screen, then goes black and quits. I have had problems with it in the recent past where I would have to force quit every time. I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 and this is rather upsetting. I STILL can't play in-browser, and no one answered my previous post with a plea for help. Please, please, help me.

Well, we could play on my little server and make a new trap using the whole recalculation of distance thing that fluid has.

It will be easy to farm most achievements at this stage of Beta since people can hack or get items unlawfully.

And please use the search OP!

How about you take some time to actually read the original post?

The points aren't supposed to be used competitively, as we can't really judge the veracity of the pictures submitted accurately, but more as an indicator of how good you're doing to yourself. A sort of solitaire, if you will.

It would be useless to cheat, because this isn't a game with multiple people, and it's just for fun.

    Hydrophilic - SP or SMP - 40 pts. - Make a free-floating underwater base.
Kamikaze Kreeper - SP or SMP - 30 pts. - Cause one creeper to kill another creeper.
Pig barf - SP or SMP - 10 pts. - Make a rollercoaster specifically for pigs. Ensure that it's entertaining enough for them.
Dumb luck - SP or SMP - 30 pts. - Disobey the greatest rule of Minecraft and dig a noob tunnel (that's 1x1 wide) straight down until you hit bedrock. If you die in the process, you lose. You may not shift your tunnel in any direction in any part of the venture.
Recreation for the Deceased - SP or SMP - 50 pts. - Find a dungeon that spawns skeletons. Then, make a horizontal tunnel with one side open (lined by a fence) and make a wall opposing that side with targets for the skeletons. Dead people like archery ranges, too.
Delinquent - SMP - 10 pts. - Grab heaps of eggs, then egg someone else's house.

Hey, I just had an idea. I'm not sure if others have had an idea similar to this, but I figure I'll just post it here for my own amusement anyway. It's all for fun.

    Minecraft Achievements!
The name of the game explains it all. It's just like achievements you get on the XBox. Everyone can post a few achievements if they want, or just pics of them accomplishing the achievements. The object of this is to give a fun goal to those who have exhausted themselves making bases and mining in SP/SMP. When you post an achievement, please post them in this format:

    Achievement name - [SP/SMP] - [points] pts. - [object]

The points aren't supposed to be used competitively, as we can't really judge the veracity of the pictures submitted accurately, but more as an indicator of how good you're doing to yourself. A sort of solitaire, if you will. I think that the SMP achievements will be more fun, but who am I to say what is more fun? I hope you enjoy these:

Irony - SP or SMP - 30 pts. - Blow up a creeper with TNT.

On second thought, I'll put more on a second post! Please, submit your tasks! They'll all be awesome, I'm sure.

I haven't looked, but does the URL contained within the code include the htt protocol? If so, you may be able to change it to file:///home/user/Pictures/cat-cape.png or whatever. Also, I must be terribly ignorant, but I had no idea that the java SDK came with a decompiler. How extremely useful.

You guys are awesome. You have no idea how happy it makes me when people like my stuff. So, here's what you asked for; I hope it's more of what you want.

    Chapter 3

Simply indescribable. One could never imagine something so intricate, complex, and beautiful as these caves.

Every other step, something unexpected awaited me, whether it be stone flecked with colors, glowing red dust, waterfalls, or even lava. But those weren't the only things in the cave--it was inhabited by the most awful creatures. Spiders, zombies, and even skeletons with bows . . . it was as if the entire world was against me. I am so glad I brought my torches and a stone sword I had learned how to craft on the night of discoveries, without which, I would have been dead. Being the resourceful man I am, I observed the bow and arrows that the skeletons were holding. I was able to see how they were made using the basic resources abundant in this odd, scary place. Bows were easy to craft; I just bent a few sticks together and tied some string (that was dropped by the spiders I so valiantly vanquished) to both ends inside my workbench. The arrows were even more simple, just some flint, a stick, and a feather. Why did zombies drop feathers? I didn't want to get close enough to one to find out.

With all of these colorful stones, I was confounded. I thought using a pickaxe would cause a block to drop anything, but that was clearly not the case. When I tried to mine the red, blue, and gold blocks, they did not drop anything. Thinking ahead, I left the rest of them alone so that when I discovered how to mine them I could have what was left. I could mine a rather brown spotted stone, but it didn't drop anything that I could use like coal. I brought this specimen back to my wood-barricaded home at the mouth of the cave, and played around with it in my workbench.

Before I found out how to extract iron from that, I had to discover how to make a furnace. It wasn't too hard; I soon got frustrated trying to make things with the iron ore and resorted to making weird figures with broken-up stone. In the process of making the furnace, I also stumbled across how to make two varieties of steps. When observing the furnace, it was quite obvious what it was and how I would use it. I had finally found something that made sense in this weird world. I put in coal, and different kinds of blocks, and voila: iron, stone, and cooked food.

These findings only led to more, and I was mining diamond and gold in no time. I was always cautious, and I stored my valuables in my chest every chance I got. The only things I ever carried with me were my pickaxe, my sword, some dirt, and maybe a shovel. When I went out into the night for the first time, I found out why I should never bring more than that.
