An interesting tidbit: Slimes DO spawn in Peaceful, and DON'T dissapear when you switch difficulties to peaceful. However, only tiny, harmless ones spawn in peaceful, and no slimes divide when killed in peaceful.
I have a rather silly question. This idea sounds absolutely epic, but I'm curious, how are you going to mark out the 1000 plot points? What I mean is, okay, you have this concept, but how are you going to know when you've reached a thousand blocks on each side? Are you going to mark out the corners first or...? I'm curious because admittedly I'm still a bit of a noob at all this (only been playing for like three weeks), and I'd like to know for future reference in case I ever want to try something that bold.
I just count the spaces/mark the corners.
I admit that with 1,000, it must get tedious.
edit:
You could probably also use cartographer in a way to find where the corners would be located...
Lay a torch/sign every 100 spaces, and then put a block every 50 spaces in between that (latter isn't neccesary)
Well, if your self-destruct system was any effective, you would just have to wire 1 TNT up, and it will all go boom. Also, to power TNT, you just have to have redstone on top of the TNT, on top of a block that is on top of the TNT, or on top of a block next to TNT. You can also place a [redstone] torch under the TNT, but this isn't recommended if you've already placed the tnt. Also, going on the door thread from earlier, know that iron doors don't blow up =)
EDIT:
Some examples:

2)
3)
[]
4)
5)
where = Redstone wire = Redstone Torch and = Any block EXCEPT glass (protip: Glass can't be powered by redstone, so avoid using it in situations involving tnt. If something goes wrong, BOOM)
Protip: Water elevators or "boatavator"s are called Escherian Machines, because of their tendency to make good loops, similar to Escherian Geometry. You can [easily] make one that loops infinitely, so you don't have to fall back down, and it looks nice =3
Protip: Press ESC right before you test something risky, so your level can save. If something goes wrong, press "i" and close minecraft. If you restart it and go into your world, it reverts back to when you pressed ESC
I use it all the time when testing cannons. =)
I think that what you're looking for is the XOR gate (Exclusive OR). Check out this page: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Redstone_circuits
This will allow you to open and close a door from either of two switches. So you can open the door with switch one, go through the door and close it with switch two.
Make an AND gate with redstone, like this:
Bottom Layer (Top View):
[] ->To Switch number 1 [] []
[] ->To Switch number 2
Top Layer:
[] [] []
[] [] []
[] [] []
where = Redstone torch and = Redstone Wiring
That makes it so it only opens when both Levers are on. If you Leave Lever 1 on, and then turn Lever 2 on, it will open the door. If you enter and then pull Lever one off, it will close it. Then pull it back on, it opens, etc.
So, in short, powered carts are too weak (can't push much) and their autonomy frankly sucks. Notch has to come up with a better balance so they stop being such a source of grief and people gain a genuine interest in using them instead of choosing to explore code glitches or downloading hacks.
Well considering that he IS making lanterns, which are infinite and (might) take a trip to hell, maybe you can make powered minecarts better in this way. Also, if you have 2 minecarts at the same time, they DO push a cart up a hill nicely. But slowly.
What do you mean by railing? And I just attempted taking the top row off, 2 TNT got stuck and blew up the entire thing. Luckily its backed up. But imo this shows that my previous problem was not them getting stuck, but something else seeing as how just 2 getting stuck made a giant hole in the ground with no cannon left to speak of.
He means put a row of cobble on top of the redstone, Like I told you earlier.
Also, a sign make it so that 1)TNT doesn't hop and 2)You can't place TNT there as it IS considered a block.
Thank you. :smile.gif:
So this works also for empy carts I guess. I need to try it out ASAP. :biggrin.gif:
Too bad for the powered cart... I hope it will soon be fixed in an update. Would be nice to have in-game trains working. :biggrin.gif:
If I understood right, the best 2-way booster is the U-shaped one (the last one explained by OP). It should work in both ways and is the easiest to build, isn't it?
It's not that powered minecarts aren't working, they just suck. They are also useful in some things, but the problem there is that they need to be powered with coal. After about ~5 minutes, it stops being powered and you need to re-power
Well, try taking the row off the top. If that still doesn't work, post another video of you activating it from the top of the cannon, it's obvious that some tnt is getting hung up.

They're all survival >.> He was talking about Survival Test, which was the browser version before InDev

This is Alpha, two stages after InDev. Try using MCEdit instead.

I'm guessing AT LEAST 200 threads about mob farmers, and 20 videos about them.
