I'm looking to build a TNT cannon with a timer that automatically activates the projectile TNT a moment after the cannon is activated. Looking the redstone delay circuit, it says how many "ticks" delay each unit gives - but I can't find information on how many ticks it takes for TNT to explode after being activated, so I'm not sure how many delay units I'll need.
Any info on this?
If you use the inverters in that picture, exactly 40. In Zirums, it's ~45, which is slightly longer.
…am so addicted to playing with the simulator now, I keep forgetting to build & do stuff in the game…
But anyway, I put together a combination lock & was hoping somebody could help me shrink it down a bit as right now it is much too large for it's own good.

hrm, was going to attach the schematic file for easier use but the uploader hates me. so, heres a link to it: http://thesizer.net/files/Combo5btn.zip
The only program that can hack in creeper-spawners period is MCEdit. Lucky for you, it also works for Mac. Search for it in the mapping and modding section.
Your booster simply isn't big enough. Try making it bigger. I also heard some news of carts losing momentum faster if noone is inside, but I haven't actually tested that yet.
So I just had the wierdest graphics glitch. Didn't happen before newest update:
(Note: Column of water is part of glitch, too)
Anyone else having this problem?
my mistake. i forgot to mention that the boom is gone.

What exactly is the point of this again? All you're doing is making it so that the TNT goes boom, but you could do that without water, sand, or torches =|
because i am a full supporter of dungeon like play in minecraft, i thought that this would be nifty in them. flip two switches, and a statue cries. it would be pretty the awesome.
But the way you have it, the sand will just fall and block the water, making it go boom. Also, you can do this without tnt by adding two blocks behind the source block, and the removing them.

The way the other guy said. If you do it like this:

As soon as you turn on the redstone, the lava will start flowing, but won't until then. But it's only a one-time use.

It's always done that. Very convenient for making contraptions.

I just finished my 1-wide combo lock:

(if at first it starts blinking, just press the button on the far right)
Code is 5-6-7-8 and then hit Enter (far-right)

I just did, in fact, because my previous ones didn't support OpenGL and therefore couldn't run Minecraft period.

*sigh* way too tired of people posting their "revelations" about redstone here.
EDIT: at least post in the thread that already exists
