So... todd was playing today and came across an abandoned mineshaft and found a chest. expecting the usual shitty loot he opened it anyway and found 3 diamond! :laugh.gif: has anyone else found respectable loot in the mineshaft crates yet? if so plz tell.
Ever since 1.8 came out i have been wondering why they did away with eating food- insta health. but then i had an idea... what if you could make potions, which would restore health instantly just like food used to. you could craft them out of a vial ( three glass in a bucket formation) and ingredients ( ender pearls, bones, etc. )
idk if it will ever be reality but i think it would be nice to have instant health in a pinch again.
In a world way back in alpha i had a fully working subway system with various stops at all of my destinations.
i also built a castle recently that was 100 wide 100 long and 100 tall. it was really amazing looking but then that world corrupted :sad.gif: but anyway what have you all made?
You probably should have mentioned you loved it so far in the title, because I'm sure a lot of users will think this is just another whining thread (which it kind of is, just minus the lack of appreciation).
As for me, I'm very impressed with the world and biome generation, and like most of the update. But I do have to agree that endermen are WAY to easy. All you need to be able to beat them without even risking damage is a bow and a few arrows. Just fully charge them while they look at you and they are 0 threat. It would be great if they could block long range weapons, and would retaliate when hit from close range, that, or if they were adjusted to work as a pack instead of teleport. Like if you looked at one they all stopped and looked at you, and all but the one your staring at approached slowly or something. Right now, they still have nothing on creepers.
As for NPCs, I'm sure they'll be there eventually, probably in 1.9, but this was already a huge update, so I'm happy to take what I can get.
I also am not a fan of how huge the mines are. I like the idea of abandoned mines, but I have yet to dig without running into one.
And lastly, though not a disappointment, I hope that they do something about the swamp biome, because it doesn't seem even the slightest bit swamp-like. Maybe add murky green water, and mud, like the normal world equivalent of soul sand. Then just have trees grow out of the mud or shallow water. That would make it feel much more swampy.
great ideas! also giving the endermen a ranged attack would be kind of nice in my opinion, just making them an actual threat instead of just a nuisance.
also i think the vines grow a bit fast. since my world began earlier today they have allready consumed a mountian.
God i hate noobs who post this **** without getting the facts.
1: What did you expect? a computer crashing nightmare giving 50ft monster? it's original demographic is kids.
2: Read the update log. NPC's coming in 1.9. they spoke of NPC villages in all videos. yet you think they werent in it because the idea was 'scrapped'? there were too many bugs, so it was moved back.
i didnt say it was scrapped. i just said im dissapointed it wasnt in this update.
So far i LOVE 1.8, i just have a few complaints. endermen were made out to be terrifying and horrible and hard to kill. i think they are much to easy. also i think it is kind of stupid to have npc villages with no npcs in them. hopefully they will be put in a future update. Please post whatever you are dissapointed in.
i think they should have the same health or more then a human. then give it the ability to do a ranged attack. because honestly im more scared of a skeleton. or have them attempt to break into your house during the night. idk just some ideas
I was mining and saw a big hole, so naturally i went up close and looked down to the bottom... then it went ssssssouth from there. lost everything including diamond equiptment and armor.
i allways thought that it would be cool when you killed a zombie, it would fall down, and you could bring it back to life. but as a human companion or something :smile.gif: idk it just seems like a good idea.

im not trying to be negative, its just that after all the time they had to work on the update they could have at least put npcs in the villages...
