Sometimes, specially when underground, it is pretty hard to rememeber how you got somewhere. I spent like over an hour just going through a single HUGE cave system only to die from a creeper that spawned behind me in a well lit room... I have no idea how I got there as I didn't have a chance to start back tracking and making a trail.
Nit saying some item would help me get back there but knowing at least which direction I need to travel in some 3d space would be nice. Why can't the game just have a magical/powered tool? Heck it has red stone so it doesn't need to be electronic, it can use the special powers of something to make it work..
I guess I can use a mod to get back but I like the pure version. Problem is I have no real idea where I died so getting back there in time isn't helping.
I started over enough yesterday so I guess I'll do it again, just would be nice to have a way.
I'm glad someone gave the ass answer of "just don't die," sorry to your 1337 minecraft skillz. Sorry I don't has themz and I do die.
EDIT:
How did this end up in Survival MP? was it moved? I swear I chose Survival:SP, can someone move it to SP for me?
Can we get some kind of new item that you carry with you so that when you die, you can have a way to find out where? Guess Kind of like another compass but you can leave one piece at home and carry the other with you or something....
I made a new world and copied all the folders from my old world into the folder for the new world and loaded it up. Weather changed, no longer snowing but snow on the ground and my furnace started working!
All my furnaces stopped working. seemed to happen after one got covered in lava and/or after it was placed weird as it didn't face me when I placed it.
Anything I can do? I really don't want to start over with a new world....
I am having the same issue. I am NOT using any mods but I haven't updated my version since 1.1.0 (I fear losing my saves)
All my stoves stopped burning fuels as well. Seemed to start when I placed a stove and for some reason, it faced the totally wrong direction (not towards me when I placed it)
It also got covered in lava at one point, which happened while trying to troubleshoot why it didn't work. Was clearing a space around the stove and well, lava came from above...
Blocked off lava flow, Iron was still in the stove but now would not light and then NONE of my stoves would light. Destroyed all Stoves, threw them away and let them disappear. New ones still do not light......
