What edits would one have to make to turn off the 3d leaves? I love Conquest but this gray leaves/fake lights glitch is making it unplayable for me.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just ripped everything that said "leaves" out of the pack and replaced them with the original John Smith ones... This will be a fine enough temporary fix.

It certainly has nothing to do with better foliage, seeing as how I'm using no mods other than Optifine.

Just wanted to report that I'm getting a weird issue where there are fake lights coming out of treetops, everything else looks great though!

EDIT: Noticing a similar issue on previous page... I'm getting the issue with and without shaders, shaders do accentuate the issue however by brightening the light. Hopefully someone finds a fix soon, this is a pretty annoying thing!!

The behaviour may be a side effect of DynamicLights, they force more chunks updates around the player and the chunk update threads may be overloaded. You can also try to increase the Chunk Updates in Performance or to enable Smooth World.

Wasn't even using dynamic lights so that can't be it... I pushed the chunk updates per frame to 5 and I can't get the lighting issue to stick for more than a second. It's still pretty bad looking though seeing that solid line flash even for a second, reminds me of graphic artifacts when a video card is going to die.

I've spent the past couple hours trying to toggle various settings and that was the only one that affected the issue. I'd hate to just write off Optifine as unplayable, because it actually gets rid of a very minor occasional stutter I get in vanilla despite having a monster computer.

I know all about that bug report, but that's not the point. The point is that I do not have this bug when I am not using Optifine. Therefore, regardless of whether or not this bug exists in the vanilla engine for some people, it is a reasonable conclusion that Optifine is somehow causing this bug to surface in my game. I was posting here to try to get help fixing this issue, not to have people write it off as a vanilla bug when it's clearly being caused by Optifine.

This is vanilla issue that exists forever now and no one seems willing to fix it

Weird that a "vanilla issue" that I've never seen in several years of playing doesn't happen unless I'm using Optifine... Obviously there's something in Optifine or one of its settings that causes it to happen reliably, which is what I'm looking for here, because for me this bug makes Optifine un-usable.

Posted about this on the previous page already but got a screenshot of it actually happening now... Whenever I place a torch while using Optifine (doesn't happen without) I end up with this lighting glitch at chunk borders. Sometimes it's for a split second, other times it's for a few seconds, and sometimes it's until I actually walk into the glitched chunk... How do I get it to stop happening?

Hi, I'm having this annoying visual issue with optifine where the chunk lighting issue outlined in https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-80966 (lighting not being updated across chunk borders until chunk has another reason to update) happens pretty near 100% of the time when placing torches. When playing without optifine, I can't get it to replicate. Is there a setting causing this or...?
