Oh well, I meant my feedback to be for Nickfost... in my first attempt I spent about an hour wondering what the minium stone was for until I went to the wiki and worked it out, didn't want him to need to make a bunch of videos doing the same, he he.
I'm finally getting my automatic tree farm set up on my third attempt, goodness gracious. I've discovered that lead is quite hard to get unless Factorization is installed -- smelting silver ore in the slag furnace appears to be the easiest way to get it -- and of course I removed Factorization to fix the obsidian bug. You can also get lead by pulverizing silver ore, but the chance is like 5% and silver ore costs 5 iron ingots... So in the end I have had to install an earlier version of Factorization. What a hassle, lol! I hope I'm not missing something again.
I should have gone for Industrialcraft energy instead of Buildcraft. You DID leave a big hint with those initial materials, it is noted! I am stubborn!
We gave you the starting items any growing minecrafter would need!
Feedback (hidden, because spoilers of the very basic stuff):
1) The Minium Stone is your economy and most of your resources. You can transform Logs -> Obsidian -> Iron -> Gold -> Diamonds. To make another Minimum Stone you'll need to kill mobs for Minium Shards, so build a mob farm or something before your first one runs out.
2) You'll need a LOT of logs. You need four full stacks for one diamond! You can use the Minium to turn ordinary saplings into jungle saplings. Put four together in a square and get a big ass jungle tree for easier log gathering.
3) Don't waste time running back and forth... relocate over to the store and just build over there. The nether portal will still work, sort of.
4) Don't worry about dirt and sand, they are easy. The Minium turns cobble -> grass blocks -> sand. There are loads of other Minium Stone recipes you can look up.
I've joined the forums just to say that I'm loving this. Just started my second playthrough because the mobs broke out of my mob farm and wrecked everything (must remember not to push them into such a small space next time).
I do have some thoughts, although I'm no FTB expert (far from it) so some might be a bit off base.
You might make the whole thing a little harder by giving the player an inert stone instead of a minium stone, forcing them to grind some mobs for the first bit. This would make the initial part of the game much more like the original skyblock. Minium shards aren't such an uncommon drop that it would take forever.
I'm not sure exactly how to get slime balls, which is a major component (particularly as part of magma cream) in a lot of things. I was just about to start trying to farm nether slimes when everything blew up (I'll start sooner this time... not even sure it's possible?), but would prefer to just be able to get some slime the regular way, since you're already selling blaze rods (at crazy expense). I've been all over the wiki but can't find any way to create them, except with bees. Am I missing something obvious? Can you make slimes spawn in the overworld somehow? If it IS possible, no spoilers please!! Just tell me that it is possible to get slime balls (or just magma cream) and let me work it out! I'm just bringing this up in case something was missed in the equation.
Speaking of which, could you add bees? Maybe one regular beehive on the third island, and someone in the shop that sells special bees at increasingly exorbitant prices? Maybe you've thought it through more than I have but I sort of miss them. And then slime balls wouldn't be a problem, just ridiculously inconvenient, he he.
There's a small bug I encountered with the minium stone not converting logs to obsidian, which as far as I can tell is a big reason that the minium stone is there to begin with. This appears to be a common bug. I removed the Factorization mod and it works now, just FYI.
The store isn't really hidden at all. It's pretty clearly visible on my computer with rendering set on far. I'd prefer having it closer anyway. It's a hassle to have to walk out there every time, and since we have Railcraft and apparently no easy access to magma cream I'm thinking rails aren't feasible until pretty late in the game, if at all.
Some thoughts for achievements:
1) Don't use the initial materials in the chest on the third island. I'm pretty sure this is possible! Isn't it? I'm going to try it.
2) Don't create any more lava than the initial block. Make do with one, like in the original Skyblock.
3) Don't download turtle programs. I started to look for easy ways to make massive amounts of logs without constantly growing trees and the easiest way by far is to create a felling turtle and downloading a farming script. In the end I've decided to go whole-hog and build a proper tree farm, even if it takes FOREVER.
Thanks! Looking forward to the next version!

Perfect. BTW, this is a great map. Been playing for a couple days now. But I can only find 3 small islands around the spawn point (one being the traders). And the nether doesn't seem to have any islands except the portal. Is there any way to get the other ores in this map? ruby, sapphire, green sapphire, AE crystals, etc.? One of the traders trades for netherack but that is very limited with just a single little island where the portal is. I created an electric jetpack and wandered quite far in all directions in both the nether and over world and couldn't find any more islands or anything.
Maybe the only way to get the other ores is by using Mystcraft?
Mystcraft wasn't intended. And you're not supposed to be able to get EVERY ore. Lots of them are created through centrifuges. It's supposed to use only very essential items that can broaden into many other devices and things. Oh, and there are only 3 islands.
Wow, how confusing can this be? Title states 1.5.2. Description says must use FTB Ultimate 1.5.2. Then in big red it says 1.4.7. And there is no FTB Ultimate 1.5.2 in the launcher. Maybe edit your post to clarify the proper information?
Awful awful map. Idea was brilliant to make a FTB skyblock but trading was awful. Things cost to much, horrible building to trade in, and not enough added to the map to consider it better.

Sounds great, thanks!

Oh, yes. I remember now that I came across that but wasn't able to find a solid fix. I will try to fix it next update.

What do you mean?
It's two wood logs. The result doesn't show up, but if you click on the result box, obsidian will come out.
Thanks!

Not sure. Never heard of it, though.
