posted a message on So Here's a Stupid Bug That I'm Sure will Never Get Fixed...
I don't know how long this may have been going on for since I just go back into playing MC. I host a server on a home computer. Any time I receive a text message on my cell phone I get disconnected from my server. I know Mojang will blame Apple and Apple will blame Mojang so I'm not even going to bother trying to work it out. I just thought it was pretty damn funny and wanted to share.

    Happy Minecrafting!!

^This. I tried loading the world, couldn't. Switched to 1.7.9 to find the item frames all over the floor and ALL of my chests empty, as is my inventory. None of my horses have their armor/saddles and I don't have my armor either.

So freakin' frustrated and I'm worried I won't get all of my stuff back. Put so many hours into this game. >_<

If you play snapshots and don't back up it's not Mojang's fault. It's yours. It's a SNAPSHOT.

    Quote from SolarFuel

I'm so disappointed with the change to minecart physics. I've invested a lot of time building a huge interconnected minecart system, above and below ground, with dozens of stations, complicated switches, etc. All of it is broken in the new snapshot. It's a hugely daunting and frustrating task to try to fix it to work with the new physics, and it isn't even clear that it's possible.

I tried fixing one small portion of the minecart system to work with the new snapshot, and couldn't get the carts to reliably go uphill, or go around corners where there are solid blocks next to the corners.

Please, please, please Mojang, DON'T DO THIS to minecart physics! It's so broken and wrong!

Completely agree. I finally started playing with the rail system and I gotta say, it is barely useable. I could deal with the changes if it were at least consistant. As it is, sometimes the cart will go up the hill, sometimes it won't, whether it is powered or not. Sometimes it will derail, other times it won't. I can deal with silliness as long as it is reliable. But you really can't release the new rail physics as they are. Please.

Anyone else running the vanilla server snapshot and getting the message that you are not whitelisted?

I just tried to log into my own server that I host at home and it said I was not white-listed.
Sure enough I look and the white-list has been changed to 'white-list.txt.converted' and a new file was created called "whitelist.json which contains the names and the new uuid numbers for each of the players there were originally white-listed.

I ended up renaming the file back to white-list.txt. Once I launched the server it renamed it once again, but now I was able to log in.

    Very strange.

    edit: Same with ops.txt

Doesn't really matter to me. I tend to do everything, including mining, so I get tons of lapis. I support anything in the game to make use of seemingly useless blocks.

posted a message on Why won't they let me make a server
You really need to have a dedicated computer. You can't host a server 24/7 and also play on that computer or watch YouTube Vids and whatnot. If you are planning on renting a server from a host then you don't have to worry about that. But if you are trying to host one at home then that's a whole different ball game. I host one for me and my friends on a computer at home and so far the cable company hasn't complained. But if you have a public server running out of your house with lot's of people then they might frown upon that. Dealing with your parents is only something you can do. Just be honest with them. Don't go behind your Dad's back. Once you do that you cannot be trusted with anything else. I don't see how you would "mess up" your computer by hosting a server any more than you would doing anything else on it. But you will likely need to learn about port forwarding on you router/firewall. You should also be familiar with security issues that might pop up in opening ports to computers on your home network. It is unlikely anything will happen, but you never really know.

If you know where the source water is then use a bucket to pick it up. Or place a block on it to effectively plug it.
Other than that you could try MCedit.

So, we aren't getting the option to change our character names, are we? :P

Anyway, mine is a rather obscure cartoon character from The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse.

Keep trying. You will eventually get in. I had to spam mine about 8 times before I got in. It's a pain in the butt and seems to have coincided with the latest snapshot release. I'm hoping Mojang has a fix for this soon. But in the mean time just keep spamming the server you are trying to join and you should get in.

posted a message on Feed the beast crashes during launch every time.
I've had a server up and running for a couple weeks now. I was playing fine last night and then I logged out. This morning I get a crash once it tries to load the game. It would get the the game screen and I can see the ground in front of me and then it kicks me out. The ONLY way I have been able to log in is if I open the world with MCEdit and move my character away from all the stuff I have built. IN my case I dropped myself into the middle of the desert next door. I was then able to get into the game and play. But if I log out in that area I have the same issue. So there is either something really wrong in that spot or the game just can't handle the loading everything I have there. I also noticed a huge RAM spike on my server status window when I tried to log in which drops back down once I get the boot.
I have tried increasing the RAM both on the server and the FTB launcher. Neither one helps. Only "solution" is to use MCEdit and move myself to another location. Very disappointing.

Don't really care about the Ender Dragon. For me there is no end game in Minecraft. It ends when you run out of things to think about building, not when you kill a single mob and get an item.

Remember when the ARATI 500 came out? Man that was awesome. Every game was new and fresh and we played it for hours on end. The whole family loved it. Doesn't mean I'm not going to play BF4.

Games evolve. I love Minecraft more with every update. Actually I started playing Feed the Beast and I honestly don't think I can go back to Vanilla or even Bukkit at this point. IMO it is more where Vanilla should be at this point. So the more stuff they add the better. I just wish they would add more Tech stuff like Nano suits and Jet packs But I guess stained glass is cool too. =P
