I was wondering if anyone else has been experiencing some extreme performance issues. I went from 150 FPS in 1.4 to 15 in 1.5. Also, besides optifine, is there any fix to this issue or is it planned by Mojang to try and get things back to the way they were?
I would also like to point out that I have played with my lighting settings (maximum and minimum smooth lighting) as well as my render distance.

I have been playing for about a month or so on my current world but i don't really like how things are going. Would you guys suggest that I start a new world?
Since the seed is Theoretically infinite, there SHOULD be infinite diamonds, but there is a size limit to you world save, so it is NOT infinite, but there is a lot Good luck in your quest for a diamond house! post some pics when your finished.
It could be done using maybe a shaft mine to get all of the diamonds. Are you at a point in the game where you can enchant a diamond pick to get fortune 3? That would infinitely decrease the amount of time you will have to spend on mining. In a given chunk there might be one ore deposit somewhere within the 6-20 y coordinate range. I definitely agree with you. I felt like I only hit the surface when I started only to realize that that was it. If a modder could implement this that would be great. Even better, if it was implemented into Vanilla.
I want to find out some ideas for a new housing complex-ish thing that I'm planning for my ssp game. I am well into it with over a stack of diamonds but don't like where I live. Ideas?

Do you think you can you Follow Rules?:I do believe I can follow rules because rules are there for a reason. If they are logical from any point of view I will follow them. However if they are extremely one sided I may alter them but I will do my best to not bother of offend anyone on the server.
Will you Respect Others: Yes I treat people the way they want to be treated, hoping they would do the same.
Why do you Want to join our server?: The other servers that I have played on are getting old and the rules aren't strict. The admins are never on. So I suggested I be a moderator but the owner of the server didn't know me well enough, even though I have never done or suspected of doing something against the rules.
Have you ever been banned? If so what for?:Never, and I say that with complete honesty.
What can you, and you alone, offer the server?: Just another guy who is fun to play with. I enjoy the adventures and trials that dungeons and caverns present me and I enjoy doing it with others. It adds to the excitement. I also think I am a creative builder and don't stop util the job is complete.
