This is a great server to play on. I've been on it for [a little under] a year and whenever it's up, there's usually something to do. Over 99% of the people are nice, we're welcoming, and have at least 1 person from staff online. We don't bite
3.) DON'T USE STONE TOOLS
As you mine deeper and deeper into your cave system, you'll find or or :GoldBar:. Obviously, make tools out of those. Stone tools die too easily, but its your choice on what you wanna use tool wise.
I disagree.
Bring a couple of stone tools, like usual, and a steel/diamond pick for ores.
No sense in wasting those valuable uses on ordinary stone.
Hola interwebs! :smile.gif: I feel like sharing some tips I learned about cave exploring and cave systems (mostly because I explored caves in MC yesterday x.x) Enjoy.
1.) DON'T DIG/MINE STRAIGHT DOWN/UP.
This is the VERY first rule in Minecraft. Its obvious why, because you could randomly fall into lava or a unexplored cave system. If your digging/mining UP, consequences could be gravel or sand falling on you, and water/lava could drown/burn you to death.
2.) STOCK UP ON SUPPLIES
Another basic rule (for me anyway) is to having a back-up tool just in case your other one dies. Nothing too special in this tip.
3.) USE YOUR RESOURCES
As you mine deeper and deeper into your cave system, you'll find or or :GoldBar:. Obviously, make tools out of those. In my opinion, stone tools die too easily, but its your choice on what you wanna use tool wise.
4.) BRING A BUCKET OF WATER
This will -eventually- save your life when you catch on fire or when you want to cross some lava. Pour the water onto the stone, turn lava -> obsidian and BAM! Cross your obsidian bridge to explore more cave. OR: Bring a extra bucket of water and make a infinite pool of water just in case.:VV:
5.) MINE AROUND
If you see , did around the block to see how much your getting. Also, searching nearby could also get you different ore. Happened to me before when I was mining out and found next to it.
6.) DIG THE DIRT
One good tip is that if you dig the dirt underground, you are most likely to find some treasure behind it. Like I dug dirt before and found some gold! *Please be sure to have a lot of shovels as digging dirt underground is time consuming and wastes a lot of shovels.*
7.) COVER UP THE USELESS
If there is a area that is no longer use to you, get some (or some block you don't see underground, cobblestone isn't suggested because you could get confused and think its a dungeon) so that way you can cover up areas you've been to and know that you've been there and don't need that spot anymore.
But yes, those are my quick tips for cave systems. :smile.gif:
Please note that I know there is a mod for this, but I wanna voice my own opinion.
I think it'll be great if Notch added more 3 more diamonds... like Ruby, Sapphire, Emeralds (herp derp Pokemon games). So we can make tools out of those too, and their durability and power could be that it goes Ruby - Sapphire - Emerald are all the same, while Diamond is still better than any of them. Same thing goes for armor. And also Pearls, like it could wash up on sand, but serve no real purpose.
Thanks for reading! Lemme know if theres anything else that should go with all this stuff :smile.gif:
IRL: Whenever I see a dark area, I have an irresistible urge to place a torch down.
Kind of.

I'm terribly scared of being lost in caves. even though I don't use the "put the torches on the left/right" method, I don't get lost a lot. It's when I have to go up or down that gets me. I now am afraid of going into caves and will basically only do quarry or strip mining.
YES.

while playing minecraft i constantly check behind me for any creepers creeping up behind me even if it's in the afternoon, or in the night, when my room is well lit. ~_~
YES.
Personally, I'm afraid IRL that whenever I turn the light on in my room I'm gonna find a Creeper. Standing there and waiting for me...
Quick question: What are "Minecraft People" called? (Or just plain Minecrafters?) Just a quick though came to mind, since there could be multiple names for us.
