posted a message on Mod Problem, Please help
If you have forge then you don't need modloader, forge already has modloader built into it, installing it twice (and overwriting needed forge files) might be what is breaking your game.

Sorry if this is thread hijacking, but is there a version of the Tropicraft mod that is compatible with 1.5.2?

    Nope...just 1.4.7

    http://www.minecraft...canoes-beaches/

And the Aether II mod is only for 1.5.1 (they say so twice in bold print in the description) so that kind of answers the O.P.s question too...

    why?

Because it is completely redundant with there already being two very lengthy threads on Sky/Butter/Squids whatever current on the forum. This forum is "minecraft discussion" not "youtuber discussion" two huge threads about Sky and "Butter" is more than enough already. :(

I doubt that anyone really knows, the Aether II mod is still in alpha and was only released two days ago, you are not going to find anyone who is an "expert" on it yet. (unless they are self-deluded or part of the dev. team)

Why don't you just go ahead and try it out and let us know what happens? :D

I didn't know that, thanks! I was looking around but didn't find anything like that. Is there any way I can move this thread there?

"Report" your own first post in the thread (click the partially "hidden" report button at the bottom left of your post), and ask a moderator to please move the thread in your report.

You should look in the forum section called "Shops / Requests" where people ask for animation help, intros, backgrounds and avatars and all that kind of stuff.

    http://www.minecraft...-shopsrequests/

When people ask for that kind of thing here or in the other sections of the forum that is where the moderators move the posts to. There are also threads there started by people offering their help in creating things for people, just like yours here.

He hid a little better this time, in the last snapshot photo I think he let people see more of him just to help kill that stupid rumor about it being "some new mob"...

    Ew.

    I know, right?

Really makes you wonder about some peoples unhealthy attraction to Gold (or Butter as some of them like to call it). Sigmund Freud would have had a lot to say about the kind of disturbing mental complexes necessary to make people want to craft tools and armor out of pig feces if he had ever heard of this disorder. :P

posted a message on Question About Zombie Pigmen
Actually all netherrack contains minute traces of Gold, it is just such a tiny fraction of the block content that players have found no way to refine it yet.

Zombie Pigmen however eat netherrack on a daily basis for subsistence and their digestive system has evolved (devolved?) to be able to filter out and retain any Gold content.

This is why when you kill Zombie Pigmen they drop Gold nuggets, these are actually the digestively accreted and accumulated Gold residues from thousands of netherrack blocks that the Zombie Pigman has consumed. Basically as a matter of inelegant and rather unattractive fact, Gold nuggets are Zombie Pigman poop.

Eventually once they retain enough of these "gold nuggets" within their gut to cause an intestinal blockage the nuggets somehow fuse together into a long skinny shape and are then expelled from their bodies. This is where the Zombie Pigman's Gold swords come from, they poop them out! ;)

It is an iron golem, they are naturally spawned in villages with 10 or more villagers and 21 or more doors.

You can also make one yourself buy placing four Iron Blocks in a T shape and then placing a pumpkin on top in the center.

They are not always friendly, if you start hurting villagers they will come after you and they hit HARD, like two hit kill hard even if you are wearing full armor.

(edit: I should have added that any golem you craft with iron blocks and a pumpkin will not attack you even if you attack villagers, they are loyal only to you not the villagers)

I haven't seen anything like that since the last time I played Dungeons and Dragons(TM) although the largest die in that game was 20 sided, close enough I reckon. :P

posted a message on Found something a bit strange today..a glitch?
Cave spiders are unlike normal spiders in that they only spawn from mob spawners, they do not spawn naturally in the game, at least not so far. So that means there is probably a mob spawner there very close to the cave you found, there could be a mineshaft on the other side of one of the walls of the cave that is within spawning range of it.

The mob spawner has a spawn range of 8x3x8 (x,y,z) so if it is sitting in the middle of a mineshaft and the cave is on the North or East side of it then there can be two solid blocks between the mineshaft and the cave. If the cave is to the South or West of the mineshaft then there can only be one block between the cave and the mineshaft. Either way leaves a one block wide viable spawning strip that cave spiders can spawn on in the cave.

It is either that or it found its way in after being spawned from a close by mob spawner you activated at some point earlier by being near it. Cave spiders can fit thru gaps only one block wide and half a block tall, so even the smallest hole in the cave walls, floor or ceiling could have let it in.

Yeah, cater the entire game specifically to the tiny group of UHC players, change the golden apple recipe, nerf the potions, just for them, the heck with everyone else. :(

I'm going to have to think long and hard about curing any zombie villagers at that price, better to just kill them and be done with it...

posted a message on Nothing Spawns In My Xp Farm
If this is a darkroom spawner which is what it sounds like your saying and not a cage spawner then you have to be at least 24 blocks away from the spawn area for hostile mobs to spawn there (and no further than 128 blocks max). However if you are further than 32 blocks away the mobs that are spawned will stop moving after 5 seconds and just stand there completely still.

This is why many darkroom spawner designs have a designated area for the player to stand in so that they are far enough away for mobs to spawn but close enough to keep them moving. Other designs rely on "water flush" or "piston pusher" redstone systems to periodically push the mobs who are frozen in place into the water streams so that they are carried away from the spawning room.

The single player game has a hostile mob cap of 79 and will not spawn any more hostile mobs if that cap is reached. If there are caves or areas of the surface that are not lit then hostile mobs spawning there will fill up the mob cap and none will spawn in your darkroom. When the game counts the mobs it counts all of them within a 17x17 chunk area (289x289 block) with you at the center, so for a darkroom spawner to work well you have to light up quite an area.

The surface area and underground caves within 128 blocks of the spawner darkroom should be lit to at least light level 7 to prevent hostile mobs (except for slimes) from spawning outside your darkroom. The idea is to force the game to spawn all (or at least most) of those 79 hostile mobs in your spawning darkroom because there is no where else they can spawn.

posted a message on Is it just me or does Mojang ignore the bug tracker?
Mojang has updated the game 17 times in the eighteen months since the full release of 1.0.0 in November of 2011.

Everything that appears on this Wiki "version history" page has happened in the last year and a half, hundreds of changes and additions to the game and yes, dozens and dozens of bug fixes...

    http://www.minecraft...Version_history

But let Mojang go without a major update for 80 odd days or so and suddenly many people are complaining of them doing "nothing," even though 1.5.1 and 1.5.2 were really nothing BUT bugfixes.

They have repeatedly said that most of what they are doing right now is background stuff to do with fixing the game engine and adding the mod API, stuff the average player will never "see" firsthand.

Mojang really can't win can they?

minecraft community: "We want an update, we want an update!"

    Mojang: "Here you go"

minecraft community: "Uhh..this stuff is ok I guess but what happened to the bug fixes and the new game code and the Mod API?"

Mojang: "We are still working on it, getting that update done for you ate a lot of our time we could have spent on fixing the game."

minecraft community: "We want an update, we want an update!"

    Mojang: "Here you go"

minecraft community: "This sucks, no new mobs, no new items, just a bunch of dumb code junk for modders!"

Mojang: "But you said you wanted...I mean, before you were asking for...sigh, just nevermind..." :(
