My idea with the new spawners is to instead of having a wool chest, have a fleecy box with an enderman spawner in it. The endermen would be customized to be holding the wool blocks for that fleecy box. That way getting wool isn't quite as easy and it stops run in, run out style play. This way you would really have to conquer an area before getting the wool.

    (also pigs with saddles FTW)

With this numerical rating, I'll be able to take the average of the community votes, and get some granularity in the rating that a simple "easy, normal, hard" system wouldn't have. I will end up with neat averages, like "3.5" or "2.7".

Also, I am really interested to see the final results (I want at least 500 votes before crunching the numbers). Instead of my personal opinion of the difficulty, I will be able to post an average of hundreds of opinions from forum members.

    Should be pretty cool. :)

the only thing that worries me about this is the occasional incompetent noob who would rate the training area as a 5, but I guess thats why you need hundreds of votes.

also I suggest making it a larger scale. 1-10 instead of 1-5 for the sake of accuracy.

I was looking for Nether brick and could not find it, was this not updated to 1.0.0?

Besides that i haven't had any problems.

[EDIT] You can place blocks 1 block above the limit.

Will this be updated to 1.0.0? I need to have blocks like endstone, mushroom blocks etc. in the blocks palette.

This goes to all the "get me 1.0.0 people out there" and/or who haven't read the original post.

Welcome to WorldPainter, a graphical and interactive map painter / generator. Quickly generate expansive, natural looking landscapes, with full manual control over the terrain, using an easy to use and well performing program.

Check out these great examples of both usage and results of WorldPainter. Note that I didn't create these landscapes, or these videos:

    Features:

    • Custom biome painting
    • Create your own custom brushes
    • Add custom objects from bo2 files or schematics to the world
    • Customise the location and frequency of underground ores and resources
    • Add snow and ice
    • Easy to use yet flexible and powerful paint-like tools
    • Create oceans, landmasses, plains and mountains
    • Change the terrain type, add trees and create caverns

→ To download WorldPainter, go to the official website at https://www.worldpainter.net/

→ For support, please use the official WorldPainter subreddit!

Troubleshooting - FAQ - other documentation - support.

You can check the change log here. The installers were created with . WorldPainter is free and open source software, released under the GNU Public License (GPL) version 3. The source code is hosted on GitHub.

It should be pretty self-explanatory, and the rest you should be easily able to find out by clicking around. Don't forget to try all your mouse buttons, and try holding them down! Post in this thread to get support from me or other users of WorldPainter.

The Load and Save functions save the map in WorldPainter format. The Export function exports the map to a Minecraft world. By default it is exported right to your Minecraft saves directory. You can then open the world in Minecraft under Singleplayer.

The Import and Merge functions allow you to import the landscape from an existing map, and then merge any changes you make to the landscape back to the existing map. It is not meant for general purpose map editing! WorldPainter is, and always will be, a map generator, not a map editor. Note that this functionality is dangerous! Use it at your own risk. Please see this post for important information about how these functions work, and their limitations.

This tool is not meant to create ready to run single player maps, it's meant to create server levels and adventure maps. The idea is to create the basic landscape, with your mountain ranges, oceans, forests, snow and ice, lakes, hills, etc. using the tool, and then go in and fill in the details with other tools.

    Please donate!

WorldPainter takes a lot of time to create and maintain. Even though it is free, please show your appreciation by donating: or .

    I has question.

Is there any kind of third party program or script that will facilitate populating empty chests in a world with per-defined random loot?

    Basically, something like:

    1) Edit text file with items to put in the loot pool, along with their percent chance to appear. For example:

    bread 1
    bread 1
    iron sword 1
    gold axe 1
    arrow 5
    arrow 5
    arrow 5

Each time an item is listed is a chance for it to appear. So with that list, it's possible you could find three arrows in a chest, and two bread.

    2) Run script / program, and it loads a world and finds every empty chest. For each empty chest, it adds loot from the text file loot list.

    3) Any chest that already has any item in it is ignored.

    4) Save and close.

Sounds pretty simple, and yet I have no idea how to go about making something like this.

    I believe I have succeeded.

    http://www.mediafire...yveb7oplxw9yopm (win32)

Edit 'RandomItems.txt' for whatever items you want (format:: ItemId DamageValue StackSize %chance). Lines with a # are ignored.
    Run 'Populate Chests.exe'
A dialog will pop up for you to select the world folder (it tries to start you at the default minecraft/saves folder).
Wait for it to step through all your region files (overworld, nether, and end) looking for empty chests.

    Disclaimers/notes:
Backup your map just in case. It is working fine for me, but there may be situations I didn't account for.
If you put bad item data in the text file then weird/bad things may happen (stack size and %chance should adjust for bad numbers) .
Double chests are treated as two separate chests in the save files. As such, if either half (top/bottom) is empty then that half will get populated.
Uninitialized chests will not be populated. E.g., placing a chest block in mcedit and never doing anything with it results in an uninitialized chest. Simply loading the map in Minecraft will initialize any uninitialized chests in loaded chunks.

currently this is about 100 blocks
ideally we could change it to be say 300 blocks in the same space

Update for the people who aren't following the github updates or can't get python working:

Anvil support IS being worked on.
With the files currently up, I was able to open, edit (all the way to the new max height) and save a world created in 1.2.7b.

I'm sure there is a lot of testing to be done and 1.2 itself isn't even finished so Anvil might change some yet, but MCEdit is very definitely being worked on still.
