since you were "a couple" of updates late, you should've just read the threads a few pages back instead of starting a new one. there is one thread bound to be discussing this same complaint isn't there?

Haha, i was only able to get Sharpness I (Diamond Sword) just for kicks.
It's pretty cool and makes your tool/weapon/armor glow.
Other than that, I can enjoy the game pretty much the same with/without enchantments

posted a message on Armor is TOO STRONG?
I personally never made any diamond armor yet
(but i've been collecting for a few hours now, 49 diamonds so far.
It's so common now, I found all these in just 2 ravine cave systems)
but I can say that the iron armor lasts longer now and greatly reduces
    damage.

My personal opinion is that it's useful because you won't have to make
as many armor pieces as before even if you just take fall damage or
burn yourself with flint and steel.

There must be a good reason this has been implemented but saying it's
stupid won't help at all, and flaming the complaint isn't any better.

For the OP, use only a couple of pieces of armor if it's too tough, or
    set your difficulty to hard?

For the Fluke guy, i agree that most of the things in MC now are great
but if we need more stuff put into it (thus naming it MC 1.0 instead of just MC),
    we need more feedback.

    this makes everything more confusing.
he posted stuff they did, and they posted stuff they didn't.

it isn't just MISUNDERSTANDING if Notch specifically
said a few events of their bad behavior.

then they introduced events that make these bad behavior
    sound like Notch's lies.

I just don't get it. Its not a misunderstanding.
(maybe the crew were rude and not Lewis&Simon?)

Hmm, i should've been there to see the whole convention
because I can read people's behavior quite well.

i liked the "OORF!" sound when you get hurt.
i think it can be replaced with the oggs from previous versions though. never tried.

    minecraft folder/resources/newsound/damage/hurflesh1.ogg

you can try obtaining a 1.8.1 version of the previous sound
(.ogg format) and rename it exactly as the ones in the folders
    in 1.0.0

posted a message on best way to get diamonds in patch 1.0.0?
I've never heard of branch mining before but
I've checked and I think that's what I've been doing.

    Find a lava area underground.
Nearby just dig diagonally down til you reach bedrock.
Dig a straight path along or 1 block above the first bedrock you see
(maybe a dozen or 2 blocks long).
Every 2 blocks along the path, dig more paths outwards.

I usually find my diamonds on bedrock level. Some a few blocks above.
It's been like that since my b1.8.1 beginnings, same with my new 1.0 save.
(so far since i started minecraft, i found 28 diamonds in b1.8.1
    and 12 in 1.0)

posted a message on Is this an glitch??
    Quote from MCPhillip

There's probably nothing I can do about this.

Chop down more wood, shear more sheep. that's it.

I've collected 22 diamonds on my latest playthrough, i was thinking
"I'm so lucky this is too good to be true". I got so into it and
eventually a spider poisons me and pushes me off into lava.

also, i was mining near a lava area, a creeper shows up, i panicked,
and pressed Q in front of the lava while holding my diamond pickaxe.

lots of stupid stuff i did.

yes, this MIGHT be AN glitch. but what else can you do? none.
