if you intend to skimp on real fireworks (like me) on this New Year's Eve and got Minecraft, then maybe this is for you.
- creative, flat, with cheats enabled
- 74 dispensers with ~40,000 fireworks rockets
- mostly orange great ball with three ticks flight time; some variations
- some relais/repeaters for customization
Fully loaded with enchanted diamond pick, sword, complete iron armor I was mining obsidian by putting a water source over a lava lake.
I had almost enough obsidian to build a gate, when I left the water source one block over me while mining the obsidian block right under me. The block broke, the water pushed me into the lava below me, then turned the lava into obsidian right above me.
I was trapped.
I couldn't get my stuff back... started a new world.
Another idea, make several iron buckets and try to scoop the lava up. It'll probably take five to ten buckets to make a large enough dent. But then you can turn the rest into cobblestone with water.

At first I thought the minimap was a cool idea. But now I'm beginning to loathe it. Is there a key to turn it off?

Download link:

extract this into your saves folder
(Windows: %appdata%/.minecraft/saves)
the world is called Silvester
ps. I recommend constructing a repeater loop, otherwise you'd have to press that button 574 times

this is my first presentation of a house I created in Minecraft. Without much further ado:

To show how to build this I made this youtube video:
At the end of the video is a quick show of some variations in design and with different materials.
