Nuff said? I mean right there. Just look at it. I don't get how I'm wrong...

Edit: as clarification, he said this After the guy asked him if he wouldn't be coding because of the business. And basically said, no the business is started and I'm coding.

Semantics. In your argument you're implying that Notch has all the time in the world because he has finished starting his company. In Notch's tweet, he is stating that his company has been created, i.e. he has finished starting the company, but a business does not just take off on its own without any work involved.

I was merely pointing out that although his company is complete, it's only the beginning, and there is still a lot of work ahead of him.

I think most of us rational beings understood the point you are making. A very good point at that.

*Edit of my edit* (I always notice parts of a post I meant to reply to but forget) You're assuming it will only take a day or two to fix the bugs? Notch is starting up a company now, he can no longer just code all the time.

More lies. Have a look at Notch's twitter. He specifically says that he is all done starting a company. I'll find it in a sec.

If you want to see people bitching after pre ordering this game look at half the threads on these forums.

@foocode The company is started, the office is signed, the employees are signed. There's not much left to do there! 6:00 AM Oct 31st

    -Notch's twitter

To think all of the work of starting a company ends with finishing the hiring process is ridiculous, good sir.

Example: grayscale particles on trees? Eh... No one cares. Broken portals and hideous grass? Take an extra day or two to make it right.[/size]

Are you serious? This is exactly what we're talking about in this thread. Let's take your example and I'll show you why it's a bad idea to do what you're suggesting Notch does.

Latest update, added portals. Portals work to get to and from Nether without a hitch except for the fact that they spawn multiple portals, all which still work. At this point Notch has two choices: move on to adding more content or "take an extra day or two to make it right," as you put it.

If he picks the former, the next update will have a new feature for us to play with. There's a workaround anyway and the portals themselves work.

If he picks the latter, he wastes a day or two, but the portals now work perfectly. He continues adding content, something that adds functionality to the Nether. Uh-Oh, the portals are now doing the same thing again. Another two days he spends fixing it. There we go. Oh, let's add support for server-hopping through portals. Uh-Oh! Portals are acting up again.. Another two days.. and so-on and so-on.

It makes more sense to leave it be since it works then to go back and waste time "fixing" something only to have it break down again. The grass stuff even moreso, what if he decides to add more grass selections? Then he'll have to go back and fix ANOTHER bug.

posted a message on (poll) do you like the new spawn mechanic?
    Quote from excomotive »

So you think the new spawn rate is good because you like fighting lots of monster while building your home. Well guess what? I prefer less monsters because I happen to find too many mobs frustrating and my goals in this game revolve around building a fun home and not fighting off hoardes (sic) of creepers.

In my opinion, the best solution would be to use the current Peaceful/Easy/Normal/Hard difficulty settings to dictate how monsters spawn, lighting, health, and damage. Peaceful obviously has no enemies with minimal damage from the environment. Easy could be the game we had pre-update. Normal can be the level of the game now, and hard could even be a more difficult setting.

THIS!!! I like the added danger of having enemy mobs appear at night and dark/poorly-lit areas. These are rules I can live with. A scaled difficulty level based on mode type/name seems the obvious solution. What is the point of the "difficulty" modes otherwise?

EDIT: Thank you for pointing out the damage factor as directly relates to difficulty. The suggestion is still valid, however - just add an enemy mob spawn frequency variable to the difficulty in addition to the existing damage variable.

Afraid I've only found 2 pumpkins - after hours of searching and 5 new worlds.

I generated 5 new worlds yesterday (deleting the previous each time), searching each one to roughly continent size map area (Cartographer) approx. 5-10MB apiece. Didn't find a pumpkin until the 5th one - I now have 2 pumpkins after literally hours of searching lol!

Just copy your ".minecraft\saves" folder to a new folder somewhere. I did this before the update (just in case) but didn't run into any issues that would give me reason to restore from an old save.

EDIT: Note that your saves folder is located in a different place depending on your Operating System (OS). The post above includes a valid location for Windows 7 users. For Windows XP users it is:

    C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\.minecraft\saves\

I won't say you are "one of those" or boring. However, there is already a thread that this should have been posted under: viewtopic.php?f=1016&t=56885

*HE* will not be making an appearance this update, or perhaps forever (per Notch) :sad.gif:

As stated previously, zombie pigmen will attack if you attack them. This is exacerbated by the bug causing armor to have no protective ability (recognized and being worked on I have read).

probably not cause it's way too rare and hard to get too also the hell dirt (bloodstone) 'burns forever' so it is a better choice

Uhhh... It is not rare at all. Period. Plus the bloodstone is useful only in the same way that burning logs (non-lumber wood) was (i.e. not very).

Sounds like a bug to me.

I agree, and a very frustrating one at that. Some people report that they are able to return to the same portal 100% of the time, and it has been suggested that if the portal you attempted to place would lie on lava it is relocated to a "safe" place - and it is here that the "bug" creeps in. Because of the distance you are landed in Nether from where you *should* have landed, your return portal sends you back from where it is currently located - usually quite some distance from where you thought you would be.

While I agree that it is a bug, it is possible Notch intended this. We will have to see.
