Some bugs I've noticed immediately. Also note that by "crash" I mean "unhandled exception". Generally I can click continue and move on with the program, but it still seems fit to report these.

    1) Clicking backup again after the first time causes a crash. Not a big deal, you don't really need to ever click it again unless you need a new backup, but it's all about cleaning up the program.
    2) Clicking anywhere in "Your Jars" in Jar Manager without selecting a jar (basically clicking on white space without having an actual jar highlighted) will cause a crash. Slightly annoying if you misclick, but not a huge deal.
    3) Putting only one color into a box in "Settings" and not filling out the other will cause a crash if you try to save changes.

That's all I've noticed from just being an idiot and doing stuff in weird ways.

I just patched all 3 of those up, and each one is working fine now. :smile.gif: Thanks for your help! If you find any other small quirks please let me know, as I'd like to make this program perfect, or as close as it can be to perfect.

Hey linkey, I just updated it to Version 1.0.1 - this fixes all known errors that were popping up in the old one. Sorry for all the mess ups, shouldn't happen again.

Wow! I just read the 206 posts from OCMI and all these as well. (I cheered when Elementis finally got his problem solved.)

Wow, kudos to you. haha :smile.gif:

Yeah, I really appreciate his help. He's been really dedicated to the whole thing.

    Arcticfang-

Downloading today! You make it look effortless to create such a user-friendly / helpful /comprehensive program. It blows my mind.

It's easy to me simply because I do automation programming as a living - I make bots, creators, AI's, etc. etc. for people that need them made. It becomes second nature after a while. :wink.gif:

Please get the code out for your banner (unless I missed it?) so we can all support you and get the word out!

Here's the link to the image: http://i.imgur.com/eXlue.jpg. I'll put that up in the first post eventually. lol I would greatly appreciate if you would spread the word. :smile.gif:

& I think you ought to add it to the Released Mods section

I dunno, it's a possibility, but I'm not sure if people would really consider this a mod.

    [EDIT]
Rats! Getting an error when I open the .exe. I think my computer file structure might be organized in an unusual way.
Here's most of the text from the error window...
    "Microsoft .NET Framwork
    Unhandled Exception...
Could not find a part of the path
    'C:\users\Steve\Appdata\Roaming\minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar'

(I think) My path is actually...
    'C:\Documents and Settings\Steve\Application Data\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar'

Any idea what I should do now?

Yeah, I'll change some stuff around and make the jar path editable for V1.0.2. That may be out tonight, if not then definitely tomorrow. :smile.gif:

    ::UPDATE::
Version 1.0.1 is now out - this patches up a few errors that were happening with Version 1.0.0. Please download it and use it instead. :smile.gif:

Are you just copying the executable to your old folder? Make sure that in the folder with the program, you only have the jars and resources folders, as well as settings.txt and the CSharp DLL.

Hmmm, pretty much everything I do it to it makes an error now, even starting it up. It wasn't doing this when I downloaded it. Oh well, thanks for patching it soon.

Really am sorry, try redownloading it one last time before I patch it up. At worst you'll just have to download the new version tomorrow. It's just a small snag in the updating code that screws everything up.

I'm trying this on a laptop now. Currently getting .NET framework for it.

    I'm just that dedicated.

    And teh file is done!

    Now its extracting the files.

    And its done with that

    Now its installing!

    Finished verifying the files.

    1/5 the way done.

Does it automatically delete the META-INF?
    Also does this auto-patch?

    And it just finished!

It does automatically delete the META-INF folder if it detects that it exists. And about auto-patching, it will in the near future, just not in this version. The resource files do, however.

I don't think It's deleting the mods from my jar and I haven't messed with my HTML file. Let me check, alright, so I created a new jar to test it on, but it keeps on giving me bunches of different errors, half of them are the fact that some file named miners helmet is in already in use. Another is "unexpected EOF" I have no idea what's going on with it.

Holy shiz, apparently there's an exception I forgot to include. I'll be adding that in tomorrow afternoon. Sorry about that, I could have sworn I patched that up.

Congratulations on getting this out! You're gonna go far haha.

I'm downloading it now, but I'll get some hands on time with it tomorrow and tell you what I think.

Thanks Veageta! I look forward to seeing your response. :biggrin.gif:

It works now :biggrin.gif: but the currently installed mod list seems to get rid of several random mods every time I close and re-open the program. Modloader seems to be sticking, along with a few others, but the list deletes all others.

That is very, very strange. It's not actually deleting the mods from your jar, is it? That would be impossible. haha But I'm not sure what the problem is, unless you've messed with your mods.html file.

The mod itself will work, but unfortunately the mod's new sounds won't - I'm trying to add this support in at the moment. But other than that, you're all set. :smile.gif:

Yeah, I added a local path to the folder of spawnlist.zip in the mods section then I tried to install and it gave me this error: It's probably me just failing somehow...

What is the whole path that you are linking to?

I love how you don't even have to download the mods. Also, does it come with Modloader?

Awesome, very glad you like it. :smile.gif:

ModLoader is included in the mods that you can install, so yepp, it does.

What do you mean? Did you add the mod to your mod list and then try to install it? Post a screenshot of what you're trying to do with it, there's probably a simple explanation

IMHO, Macs are a pain. Their 'restrictions' are tighter than that of Windows.

Remember, IMHO, this is what I see.

IMO they're way overpriced as well.. buuuttt, not trying to start any debates. haha The Java port should work just fine on Macs, as soon as I get around to completing it. Either that or I could code something up in RealBasic.. I dunno, future developments will be maintained in the MineTopia thread mainly from now on. :smile.gif:

Also, Omega, I will be adding support for RAR files, like tomorrow afternoon, actually. Like you said, it will make things a lot better.

    ~~--*--~~
First and foremost, I would like to thank everyone that has helped with this program. Ultimate_Omega has by far been the most dedicated person aside from me to this project. He not only compiled a 150 mod list for the program and is currently working on a texture pack list, but he also routinely monitors the official thread of the OneClick Mod Installer and answers any questions that arise. He's also been very, very helpful with ideas and suggestions for the OCMI and MineTopia. Secondly, I would like to thank Emperor Penguin for being my official graphic artist. He made the wonderful banner you see at the top of this thread, which is also included in the main tab of MineTopia. He's also currently working on customized banners for mods that don't have their own banners - these will be included in MineTopia as the default banner for the program, instead of displaying the "Banner Not Available" image. I'd also like to thank the community - you guys have shown some amazing support. Across all of the versions of OCMI, it got about 2,500 downloads in 3 days. That is just awesome. I'm sure MineTopia will be much more of a success, though. :smile.gif: Now, onto MineTopia!!!

    Introduction Tab
This is the screen you will be presented with when you first open up the program - simple, right? Well, before you begin doing ANYTHING with MineTopia, you will be required to back up your currently-in-use jar file. After you've backed up your jar file by clicking "Back Up", you can easily use this back up (if you accidentally screw your jar file up or something) by clicking "Use Back Up".

    Mod Manager
The Mod Manager is a very, very easy tool to use if you know what you're doing. It's very simple - to begin installing mods, you must select the Jar file that you would like to install the mod to. By default, "Default MineCraft Jar" is selected. This means that you will be installing mods to your currently-in-use minecraft.jar file. If you would like to change this, then go to the Jar Manager after reading the Jar Manager section below. :smile.gif: When you select a mod in the list at left, a banner and some text will appear in the middle. These are not yet complete - the list will eventually be over 150 mods long, and each will contain a unique banner and unique info text. However, for now most only contain a default banner and some basic info text. MineTopia will automatically download the needed files when there are updates, so you don't need to bother with keeping your mod list up to date. However, if you do want to edit your mod list, you can click the "Modify Mod List" link beside the list where you select your jar file. More on that a bit further down. When you select a Jar file to install mods to, the list at right will be updated. It will contain a list of the known mods already installed in the jar, and will give you an option to uninstall the ones that you want. Again, this list is not complete, but I am working on it.

    Mod List Editor

This is where you edit your mod list. At the moment I would not recommend this - when I update the mod list on my server, MineTopia will download it and that will replace any changes you have made. However, if you just need to add a mod for a one-time-use type deal, go ahead. :smile.gif: This editor is pretty self-explanatory. Your mod list is shown at left. There are three buttons to the right of it - /\, \/, and X. /\ will move the selected mod/category up one position, \/ will move it down one position, and X will remove it altogether. To the right of those you will see 2 group boxes - Add a Mod and Add a Category. To add a Mod, you will need to enter its name in the first field under "Add a Mod". You will need to enter a DIRECT link to the zip file of the mod in the second field - that or click the (...) button to select a zip file if you have already downloaded it to your computer. MediaFire links and bit.ly links will not work - you need to get the URL with .zip at the end. To add a category, simply type the name of the category you would like to add in the first field under "Add a Category". When you click Add Category, it will be inserted as ---categoryname--- in your mod list, merely for aesthetic purposes.

    Jar Manager
The Jar Manager is a fun little tool to use. If you have different sets of mods you like to use, instead of using all of those modern-age mods with those medieval mods, this is the tool for you. This will allow you to make a fresh Jar file (Add Fresh Jar), name it, and add it to your /jars folder. (in the same folder as MineTopia) It will also be displayed in the list at left. You can delete any Jar except the one currently in use with the "Delete This Jar" button. To use a Jar, simply click "Use This Jar" and then run MineCraft. It's easy to install mods to your newly created jars - remember how in the Mod Manager you must select a Jar to install mods to? Well, your new Jar is now in that list. Go select it, and then install to your heart's content!

    Texture Manager
The Texture Manager is simple enough to use - first, select the Jar you would like to install the texture to, then select the texture you would like to install from the list at left, click Install, and voila! You will see a preview of the texture to the right when you select any texture in the list.

    Utilities
In-Development section, will include several nifty tools, including a MineCraft Watch, an Inventory Editor, and more.

    Settings
Pretty self-explanatory - just make sure you click save when you're done. :smile.gif: I'll be adding a lot more colors in the next version, got a bit lazy on that part this time simply because something like changing the colors doesn't interest me too much in regards to functionality, but I know a lot of people like that so I will be finishing it soon.

    ***NOTES***
~~Currently, this is only available as an executable. A Java port is in the works, just hold your horses. If you reeeaaalllyyy want to use this on a Mac, I'll make a tutorial for WineHQ later, or you can look one up on Google
~~Don't worry about keeping your mods.txt, mods.html, and texturepacks.txt files up to date or anything - MineTopia automatically checks my servers and downloads any of those 3 files that has been updated since your current version of the respective file. Unfortunately, this will override any changes you've made to the mod list, so if you must make your own custom mod list, back it up every time you close the program and move it somewhere else
~~Post in the thread! With the OCMI, there were ~1200 unique downloads (e.g. 1200 different people that downloaded it), yet less than 200 posts, and by less than 15 different people. Try and be active in the thread if you're going to use the tool. :smile.gif:

Ya know, I think I probably will release it tonight. I'll have the auto-updating code in there in a few minutes, so that your mods.txt, mods.html, and texturepacks.txt files will automatically be updated if a new version is out, so there's no use in stalling the release of the program if I can do that. I'll probably be posting it up tonight. :smile.gif:
