I'm not using any mods or anything like that. Before I extend my game, I first want to understand the entire game and then I'll add mods. I don't use textures, because I think the ASCII graphics are more challenging. But it's a tough game. Haven't played past two weeks though due to lack of time
Impossible! But anyway, I love DF and can play kinda not really OK. My favorite fort death was murder by zombie unicorns. I had embarked next to a evil biome AND a good biome at the same time somehow (I don't think the good biome was on the embark and I'm almost certain the evil one wasn't). I saw the unicorns and started locking down but paused to let a stray dwarf inside. The unicorns, showing remarkable thought for undead, rotten lumps, slipped inside and proceeded to splatter everyone all over everything.
I'm gonna have to give the Glowstone Golem a big red permanent stamp of "nope." We get enough golem threads per day, and we really don't need to tack on a third golem just for the sake of adding it. By the way, dynamic lighting + Minecraft = no.
The Wisps sound a bit better, but the moving lights is still a no go. There would be a way for it to have static lighting that updates every x amount of seconds, but pure real-time lights are just CPU killing.
He's right about the lighting. The mod Evil Minecraft adds dynamic torch-in-hand lighting and it just kills all form of unlaggyness that
the game has.
Not doing video because I don't have any sort of video recorder and cause I don't have a mike and I don't have the money to get one. Thanks for the help.
Someone please tell me if this is for the video lp section! Anyway, I will be starting a picture based LP on Friday. For now please give me ideas on what to do or build first. This is both my first thread and my first LP so help me out. I will be playing on Normal. I will be using the Technic Pack but of course not the included NEI. I could include roleplaying elements if you guys wish.I could also do a LP on the antics of me and my bud nengaman. Nengaman doesn't have a forum account so he would be posting in the same post. I know I didn't make any sense right there. lol

House/Building: 20 block high cobblestone watchtower with 5 wood floors (counting top and bottom) spider-proofing on top floor which is like a balcony with fence railings. Chest has a iron sword and a set of iron armor with some food. Has bed on 4th floor and crafting/smelting room on the ground floor. Make it circular with as big a circumference as you want.
