    I'm having a small issue... Note that both Optifine and Streams are at their latest version and the game is at V1.12.2.
    I followed the instructions provided and placed the block.properties file into the "shaders" folder of my shader pack, then I enabled the shader. When I restarted the game at some point, I noticed that the streams did not render properly. I checked the client-latest log and found the following within...

    I then disabled and re-enabled the shader pack (thus reloading its files), and that seemed to fix the issue. Upon restarting the game, the issue returned. In other words, the tedious solution is to disable and re-enable the shader pack every time I launch the game. This leads me to believe that Optifine's load order upon launching the game, which the client-latest file alludes to being before all other mods (since this message was at around line 500/12000), causes the game to fail at detecting the Stream blocks. Either there's something I haven't done that must be done or I need to use the old method to enable rendering for Streams; and in such a case, I would appreciate guidance on how to do so (since the old method message is no longer available in console).

    You need to provide a crash report so we could actually understand what went wrong.

    Also, what exactly do you mean by "forge folder"? You must install forge first, then simply move the two mod .jar files into your mods folder- I don't recall there being a "forge" folder anywhere.

    Go back a few pages and you'll realize that the mod isn't dead 'at all'. Currently, Azanor is working on Thaumcraft for 1.10.2 (to my knowledge)- 1.11 is coming eventually. No ETA given yet- we're all just waiting patiently; but Azanor is definitely still working on Thaumcraft.

    The issue with Taint was that even at high level play, it was an exercise in futility to deal with beyond using absolutely egregious numbers of purifying blooms or an entire forest of pure nodes.     When you make something a threat, but never give a good reward for trying to find ways to fight it and instead make it sheer busywork, it goes from interesting to frustrating.     I could be committing a crime by suggesting this, buuut maybe taint shouldn't even exist within a biome, rather only as a "punishment". I mean, it makes sense for players to have to fight taint because of their own irresponsible actions that caused it to appear in the first place. I always found myself disabling taint biomes or at the very least disabling taint spread completely because of the exact thing you said. I had this constant pressure to deal with something that gave me no reward and it was frustrating. However, I'd understand and completely ignore the frustration if it was cleaning up a mess I had caused / dealing with a consequence of my actions rather than just some random biome.

    Hmm; never seen that happen with TC4 at least. What about chunk data? TC5 chunks have amounts of primal aspects stored in them (they also share/transfer aspects between each other); just wondering if chunks automatically get these aspects when TC is suddenly installed or if they only get those on world generation.

    I've never played TC5 unfortunately; but I have played TC4. In TC4, auras basically generated everywhere and chunks didn't really "store" any data since everything revolved around auras. I've heard that in TC5, each chunk has its own amount of primal aspects; I'm guessing this means chunks store some form of data. I was just wondering; If I was to start a 1.10.2 world and add TC onto it after it eventually updates, would chunks automatically fill up with their aspects? I don't care much for auras or other world gen (since I can go out and explore), but I was wondering if pre-generated chunks would automatically receive their "aspects" or if they'll end up being "empty" of aspects because the were pre-generated.

    Oh, though I do have one suggestion.

    Ars Magica 2 added a podium for books and stuff.
    Now I always put my Thauminomicon on that podium because it looks awesome and was very functional too.

    But AM2 isn't very stable and Bibliocraft's book desk(Which worked basically the same) was cool but the Thauminomicon wound't update unless I removed it and opened it by hand, which ruins the functionality.

    Anycase, if you added your own Podium then it could be cool, just a suggestion.

    I'm definitely supporting the podium idea; seems very Thaumcraft-y somehow.
    I mean, we've got nitor, lamps, crystals; lots of decorations! That's probably the one thing missing in my magical Thaumcraft room; something to hold my Thaumonomicon rather than a boring chest (or a bookshelf). :3

    It was true to the vanilla experience (which I liked a lot); only Special Mobs and Primitive Mobs were on my list because of that.

    We usually work in the summer break on development, because school can get pretty tough to handle with coding. I just looked and CoFH and Thermal Expansion are still not even updated to 1.8, meaning we couldn't if we wanted to. That being said we would like to branch off from Minecraft and start focusing on standalone game development for our free time. I really doubt if the required mods updated that we would continue work on this mod.

    From what I've heard, COFH mods will take very very long to update if not never since their mod devs aren't interested, at least in the meantime. Now since you have a busy schedule (Uni and stuff), that is understandable and no one has the right to pressure you on release dates or anything. As for suggestions (you might have already considered this, not sure), you 'could' branch off Minecraft as you said, orrr (this is my humble suggestion :3) you could use another energy system from Mekanism, EnderIO, etc as those mods have updated and are widely used in modpacks. I'm not sure how easy/possible that is to do, but yeah. Many mods that have already updated used those for their energy systems instead.
