Um....... whats the GUI menu?

Just recently my internet connection wasn't being a fag and i saw the 1.7.3 map pictures. They're beautiful. AMAZING. ****ING AMAZING. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE MOJANG. WHAT THE **** HAVE YOU DONE.

So earlier i found this topic earlier with a guy saying that if you put in your username as a seed it will turn out as a seed you'll like. I decided to give it a go and put in my username. What i got was pretty sweet. You spawn on a beach with a small village near you. This has a library, so you have a bunch of bookshelves and a crafting table. Also, theres some wheat growing so you have food.

Also nearby is a deep cave that leads into a ravine. This is on the surface, and if you were to fall in you would die in the ravine. Its so deep, it has gold at the bottom of it. Theres also a complex cave system there too, that leads into several ravines cutting into eachother. They're filled with lava, so be careful. Luckily theres some diamonds down there somewhere, and its a good source of obsidian.

Across from the village is a river, which seperates the spawn area from an extreme hills biome. Its moderately big, and if you go past the extreme hills you get to a swamp, a desert and a jungle. Near the jungle is another village, this one is bigger and has a blacksmiths. I won't tell you whats in there, you will have to find out yourself. The co ords for it is x: 256 y: 71 z: -345

So just to clear stuff up the seed is aminecraftguy00

Enjoy the seed, and tell me what you think. It's for 1.2 and up, so don't worry about that. I used the seed in creative mode and found out it works for 1.2.5

Could you possible include the name of the coloured biomes? Its a bit hard to tell sometimes when theres a dark green biome and a light green one, you can't tell whether its a plains biome, or a forest biome, or a swamp, or a.....

Well yeah. People who don't use whatever you use can't tell what biome is which. Apart from oceans of course.

Well there is ocean survival, but the mainland is very close to the actual spawn. Though the map i saw was old, so it may have changed. But i do think this seed could be used for ocean survival, or survival ocean, as its proper name is.

Pretty much every minecraft player would like to have a personal cape of some sort. So the thing i'm asking you people is, what cape would you have if you got the chance to have one? Since my favourite minecraft mineral is obsidian, i'd have an obsidian cape. What cape would you have?

Oh and i'm not suggesting everyone should have capes.

I'd first go into creative mode, and fly to sweden. Then i'd moan at notch until he gave me an obsidian cape, then i'd attempt for the third time, to install too many items. After i fail, i would fly to the creator of too many items house and block up the door and the windows with obsidian. Then, i'd cover the house in 3 layers of tnt and blow it up. Then, after the world stops lagging, i'd fly over to notch and jeb again. This time i'd moan at them stating my theories of herobrine and how it's notches fault for being an bad coder that some human mob remenants was rampaging through the game with glowing eyes and a unhealthy love for redstone torches. Then, after stealing notches computer, i'd fly over to the yogscasts living area and steal their accounts by overlooking them typing in their passwords. Then, after setting up notches computer, i'd give everyone in minecraft cape privelages so they can have their own custom capes. Then i'd ban a traitourous 9 year old girl from minecraft for a few months. After that i'd log into simon and lewis's accounts and go on servers greifing.

Once the sun begins to set, i'd put my obsidicrown on my bedside and sleep. Then i would spawn in the dream dimension and have some fun in the skylands. Once i wake up i'd repeat the day in a similar manner. Only that day i'd reply to this topic again saying that i woke up as my avatar.

Thats called a desert well, it was added around the 1.2 update. They serve no purpose at the moment, but jeb has hinted it might become some sort of boss summoner.

All of our clans have their own clan cape that they design and choose. Its pretty simple really.

Is this a server plugin or something? I mean i'd love a personal cape, but i'm constantly put down by the fact i'll never get one. Is there any mods that allow you to wear capes? I wouldn't mind if the mod is singleplayer only, i know that anyone with a cape on servers would be accused of being a hacker.

I how much time minecraft will stay relevant will depend on the competition with other games. A sad fact we all have to face is that many young adults these days are in college and don't have time for minecraft, also teenagers get a shitload of peer pressure and homework, so a major part of their time is taken up by relationships, friends and homework. The children these days are also majorly distracted from minecraft by overrated violent games like cod, and they are convinced that graphics matters more than gameplay. Because of that new graphics idea they have in their immature little brains they will ignore the old classics that many of us enjoy, such as old games released in the 80s and 90s. The same goes for minecraft, it will be ignored because of its graphics.

What i'm basically saying is that, as the generation of adults, teens and children changes, great games like minecraft will be forgotten due to some **** that was stuffed into peoples minds by complete idiots. I can already see the video game rumours that people will make up in 2020, "Studies reveal video games cause sunburn and autism! Protect yourselves before its too late!"

In my opinion, the decline of minecraft is inevitable, it will be forgotten some day and mojang will move onto another game or be shut down.

Well, to me Minecraft and Sims are similar in a sense that, they allow people to build whatever is going on in their mind. Both games brings out the creativity in people.
I am a huge fan for games like these, and of course i am sure there are many out there that feels the same way. I just bought Minecraft today, after my friend introduced it to me. It should be able to hold on for around a year or 2 with constant updates.
Until now, i have not actually played the game yet, but if there is not, it would be fun to see quests, and all added into game. Because i have seen lots of creative maps made by players on youtube which is what really made me decided to use the spare cash i have on hand to buy this game.

In my opinion minecraft is a bit education in a sense, as many younger players will be taught how iron and gold is made, by heating iron and gold ore. It also teaches strategy, you can mine one way or another, and calculate how much ore you will get from this. Also, it taught my younger cousin how glass was made, by heating sand. I'm guessing you posted this topic because:

1. Your a teacher and your thinking about introducing your students to minecraft.

2. Your just curious.

3. You got into a heated arguement with your parents, teachers or whoever teaches you (If at all) and you bet them minecraft was educational.

4. You got into a heated arguement with your minecraft-hating friends and you bet them the game was educational so that they would play it and see your points.

It's fun guessing people's intentions isn't it?
