    Quote from QuailCakes_»

I just completed Titan's Revolt and wow, that was a ride. Excellent design on the final intersection: it was the perfect blend of difficulty and challenge without feeling over-the-top. Random question (since I know this map is 2 years old at this point), what's the current state of Divinity's End? I had no idea it was even being made but after the ending book I thought I'd ask.

I don't know the exact state of the project but I've heard there's a team working on it and there's been some progress. "Some" being very vague since that's how these collabs work saddly. If you want to ask them personally, most mapmakers are active on the CTM Community Discord server https://discord.gg/YjhZK8

    Thanks for replying!
Sorry about the amount of spawns, i didn't know about honeypots at the time of making the map :[

About the lack of food, sorry about that. I think i couldn't really tell if there's enough while playtesting the map due to me being a guy that tries to progress as fast as possible when it comes to CTM maps.

BTW, did you end up falling for that one troll in the mineshaft? While not that lethal i tried to make it as least expectable as possible :P

Yeah lol, that was such a good trap. I was like "hey, finally some gold" and fell for it. I managed to place a block midfall but still, was angry I didn't see it coming :P

posted a message on [CTM] Melancholic caverns

Finished the map and to tbh I have mixed feelings about it.

The first two areas feel unbalanced due to the limited loot the player has and the crazy amount of natural spawns you can get. There is no honey pots at all and due to the linear layout of the areas you get al the nat spawns on your face. There's also little loot on the areas themsleves. Most stuff you get are from the monument and intersection. Food is also really scarce for the amount of mobs you have to fight.

However, once you get to magenta, you get op armor and tools and the difficulty completely drops (food stops being scarce but there isn't plenty either). There are still some areas that give some sort of challenge but you keep getting crazy loot to the point there is no danger and feels like a cakewalk. Keeping in mind there was a book per intersection saying the difficulty of each area, this is obviously not intended.

There are also areas that lacked gameplay like the mineshaft area of Molding Cavern or the whole Village area that leads to green wool, which btw I think you should make the entrance to red wool more obvious.

So far I've been kinda tough on the map, but there were also many things I liked. First of all, the resource pack was really nice. The water color changing on certain biomes, giving other textures to blocks and the custom texture for the Creeper Mallet. The message when completing the map was a nice touch as well.
Aesthetics were also nice overall. Loved how Silverfish's Dwelling looked (too sad it was a really short area). Also really good traps and trolls even when there were only a couple. And finally, the layout on your structures felt really good for gameplay.

Overall, I can't say I fully enjoyed the map, but I didn't hate it. It was a good experience. I feel like you have a lot of potential for mapmaking, I can tell there was some thought put into the design of this map and there are cool ideas that can be executed even better given enough experience.

I'll second what TT2000 said and recommend you to upload your map to the repository and join the CTMC discord. There are plenty on mapmakers that can give you useful advice and even players that can beta test your maps.

The best way to make mobs imo is by using the web page mcstacker. It's available for pretty much every mc version (you have to find the correct one). Here's the one for 1.14 https://mcstacker.net/ Select the command you want to work on (for mobs it'd be /summon I guess) and start trying the various options it has!

Posting this here in case someone happens to pass by. The list of the jam maps has been updated to have all the maps until Jam #24 (latest jam by the time this post is being written) and will be constantly updated everytime a new jam finishes. Currently, there are about 30 maps unavailable (broken links, missing posts, etc); if you happen to have the link of any of those maps, feel free to share it so it can be added it to the list.

That sounds like "Meet the Mobs" by oip_qio. The map and its sequel are unavailable but they seem fairly easy to find in other web pages. Here's the thread so you can confirm if it's the map you're looking for https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding-java-edition/maps/2093265-meet-the-mobs-by-oip_qio

posted a message on CTM maps tips?

What most CTM mapmakers have done since 1.13 was released is build everything in 1.12 (using all the mapmaking tools) and then update to 1.13, test if everything works fine and do the command/function stuff. The downside of this of course would be the lack of the new blocks (specially the ones from 1.14).

I'm no mapmaker myself so I can't really help with what you're asking, but right now a mapmaking server with various tools (WE, VS) for 1.14 is being developed; there is one for 1.13 but it's a bit buggy iirc. The developer of this mapmaking server is in the CTM Community discord server, you could ask him and other mapmakers for help http://discord.gg/DQc9k9a
