posted a message on Game crashed on launch without any error

It just happened again. The problem report is exactly the same so I won't bother posting it again. I ran HijackThis a few minutes after it happened again and this is what I got:

posted a message on Game crashed on launch without any error

I realized that since this obviously wasn't a Minecraft error, it must have been a Java error. Sure enough, when I was looking into my computer's problem reports on Saturday night, I found one for "Java(TM) Platform SE Binary stopped working" from the day this happened. I looked into the report and it showed this:

Faulting Application Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft\runtime\jre-x64\bin\javaw.exe

    Problem Event Name: APPCRASH

This seems to suggest that it was a problem with LWJGL, but keep in mind that I have launched the game several times since this happened and it didn't happen again.

I now suspect that the culprit behind this issue may have been McAfee. There was no scan happening on my computer, but it was doing some kind of update this morning as I was trying to play Minecraft. I also forgot to mention that when I tried to launch the game again, this issue didn't happen.

The closest I could find to my issue on that page was 'Why does Minecraft "crash" when switching versions?" That sounds almost exactly like my issue, except I wasn't switching versions.

This morning I launched Minecraft, but then instead of the game coming up, the launcher came back up and said GAME CRASH. I looked in the crash-reports folder and there was no file. I then downloaded 7-Zip and checked the log file 2019-02-19-1 and saw no error in the text file (normally if the game crashed there would be an error). What just happened?

posted a message on Spheres Survival (v1.0)

I have finally made my first Minecraft survival map!

In this map, you survive on three spheres. Each quarter of a sphere is a different biome, and 2 of the spheres have a cave in them. Each sphere has a core of lava at the center, with diamonds scattered around it.

The sphere you start on has a forest, plains, swamp, and roofed forest biome. There are two other spheres, one having a savanna-jungle-desert-mesa combo, and another having a taiga, ice plains, mushroom biome, and birch forest combo. The latter of those two does not have anything below ground, though I might add something there in a later version of the map. The sphere you start on has an area on the underside where you can get prismarine and sponges.

One of the spheres has an End portal, but you have to find that one out for yourself.

The nether in this map is also a sphere with glowstone trees in one corner, and a corner that is entirely soul sand. There is a cave that leads into a dungeon with a blaze spawner, allowing you to get blaze rods, making it possible to get to the End. However, I got self-conflicted on whether the End should be a sphere, so I left it up to you to decide whether the End should be a sphere in the next version.

    DOWNLOAD

P.S. There's still no way to get ink sacs :( I might fix that in the next version, but for now if you need ink sacs you just have to do /gamemode 1 and go in the Miscellaneous tab.

posted a message on Was the forum really just down?

I tried to access the main page and got an error, and a popup appeared saying that the error was on their end (obviously) and it said that it was an HTTP 500 error. When that happens, the best thing to do is to count to 10000, or watch a movie, or fall asleep. Though this time it was much faster, and now everything is up and running again.

posted a message on Error when accesing the Java Edition Discussion forum.

I also had that too, with a popup allowing me to report the error with certain information, that said it was an HTTP 500 error. When that happens on any site, I wish I could fall asleep. So that time can go 10000 times faster (although this time it was much quicker). Also, when I tried to refresh again, I got taken to a bizarre runtime error page.

posted a message on Why was my thread in the Support forum deleted?

That thread talked about my game using more RAM than it did in the past (not 100% though), and how the allocated memory tends to be higher if I load a world just after starting the game (as opposed to after having played on another world). The allocated memory 100% issue was different and had to do with opening a certain tab in the creative menu. Two different issues having to do with the same thing.

But I was asking about another thread, particularly the one titled "Why is my allocated memory so high after loading a world for the 1st time in a session?"

posted a message on Allocated memory hitting 100%

I have narrowed it down to having something to do with the bed models. I'm pretty sure this is why the Decorations tab in the creative menu causes the issue, but all the other tabs I checked (namely Building Blocks, Transportation, Redstone, and Miscellaneous) did not cause the issue. Just this morning I crafted a bed in survival and the recipe notification came up showing all 15 other bed models, and sure enough the allocated memory went from 43% to 76% in a second.

2 weeks ago, I got a warning for making duplicate threads about this issue that I have with my allocated memory. I appealed the warning, and it was approved, but the threads are still gone. There was one thread that I made about the allocated memory being high when I load a world from a fresh restart, which was different from the original 100% issue, but it still got deleted. Why was that thread deleted?

posted a message on Does anyone remember the first fatal blunder they've ever made in Survival Mode?

About 9 1/2 months ago I had this survival world where I found a stronghold, and went to the End (I actually still have the world, but have rarely played on it since that day). It was my first time going to the End in survival, despite having played the game for 5 years before. I started trying to fight the dragon, but I overlooked the fact that in the End, it is actually safer to be out in the open than in a hiding hole (despite what you may be thinking, it is actually safer to be out in the open during the dragon fight because then you would know if the ender dragon is going to spew out acid, and be able to get away in time). So I made 2 hiding holes, and in one of them, which was close to the center, the dragon put ender acid in my hiding hole. And then, sure enough, I died ingame. I respawned all the way back at my house near the original world spawn, so I had to once again walk the 1,000+ blocks to the stronghold.
