In games like Diablo or even the newer Torchlight you can stack your healing items, in here it should be the same, and also for all the tools and weapons as well, since they'll break up so quickly.
Actually, in Diablo II you can't stack your healing items for the very same reason. Potions are strictly one per slot. You had a quick use belt, but that had a limited capacity. After that, you would have to go to your inventory and use from there or drag it back to the belt. Diablo is actually a counterexample of what you are saying.
I often need large amounts of cobblestone, so I always strip mine down to the bottom of the map. Once I'm there, however, I got on a large and highly unorganized version of grid mining. It seems to be a decent compromise for me. I agree that strip mining is the worst way to find ores, I hardly find any at all.
This isn't something well suited to an editing program yet, since it is a theme for an entire world and not just changing something about the world. However Notch does intend to let custom generators be written as part of SMP so we may get to see this exist. I loved themed servers in creative (the only ones I would even play on) so this sounds like a very awesome idea.
So was I right or wrong about the spawn being in the wrong place? I deconstructed the place a little and I'm almost certain the spawn is near the end. Could you please look at it and fix it, you map does look like a lot of fun.
I have yet to try Adventure maps, mostly because they were incredibly lame in the indev days and because I felt like waiting for the official mode. However, I like the concepts and wouldn't mind designing some of my own so I'm going to try out this one and the other ones linked in the thread. I'll post my opinions when I'm done.
edit:
Shakura, your adventure map seems like it might be cool, but I think you have the spawn set in the wrong place. I think it is set near the end instead of at the beginning. That said, the one part I can see, the excavation exit with the hidden tnt explosion is really cool and creates a great atmosphere.
This is my main base. The outside isn't much to look at, but I finally finished my outer wall. My base is built into a massive mountain absolutely honeycombed with caves.I suppose eventually I'll try and build a town inside, but right now I'm focusing on other things. The base has taken me two weeks.
This is my brand new underwater mining base. I played Minecraft pretty much the whole day today and this is the result. It is in a new area that has redstone, which I now know is overwhelmingly abundant. I'll never be able to use all I have found. Luckily another suprisingly abundant ore is ! I've mostly been using it for picks. I still can't find any damn gold, which is really pissing me off because I've been trying to build a golden throne in my main base since day one and I still only have two blocks of gold made so far.
This is kind of a useless answer, but you could wait for Notch to implement the sun activated switches he has mentioned already. Otherwise you would have to build a massive and well calibrated clock, something that has yet to be done, AFAIK.
When I saved the image from paint I typed in the first thing I though of for the file name so I could recognize it and I named it Minecraft Mtns, and I like it. SORRY! They are now the minecraft mountains.
I think if I might make a Minecraft logic simulator so we can test things out without having to work in Minecraft. I'm loving this stuff but actually building it is a pain :sad.gif: . Then again I know nothing about making GUI's and since convenience is kind of the main point of this it would be kind of necessary to have a good one. Has anyone else already done this?
Wow you guys are good at jumping to conclusions. Limited maps will be implemented so that low-power servers can still run the game. Servers with godly amounts of ram will still have the option of infinite maps.
