I agree with this. My family has owned several sdtvs that we bought back around the year 2000. when HD came out, i couldn't really tell the difference, and i still cant (i even have a laptop with a 720p screen) unfortunately we did throw em out cause we were moving and they were too bulky so it seems we will be upgrading anyways, but I honestly dont see any reason why people have to upgrade to newer tech if their old tech works just fine. I understand the difference though, You can see smaller objects (such as more text, like you mentioned) and can see why you need hd for mc splitscreen. The people commenting on the kotaku article are just dumb. They come off as a bunch of rich snobs who look down on those who cant afford gold crested everything.
Not trying to sound mean, but you voiced your opinion and I want to voice mine. First off, you say that you bought your TV in 2000, and when HD came out you didn't see a difference. Well, HD TV's came out a few years before 2000, so your parents may have just been buying cheaply to reduce cost. Also, unless you are on a really tight budget, HDTV s are really not that expensive, only about $130.00 for a good one. yes, I agree with your point that "Why buy new tech when old tech works fine, " but sooner or later everyone will have an HDTV, and the time seems to be now to buy one. I also agree with what you said about the people on the Kokatu article, they are just jerks. -

All the bugs people have mentioned haven't happened to me, and although I understand that people are complaining about only splitscreen with HDMI, I mean I'm young and even I can afford an HDMI cable. I played for hours yesterday with my friends, the only bug I got was a few lighting glitches, which even happen on the PC version. All in all, it's a fun game, and was definitely worth the money I spent on it.Posted in: News

EDIT: I'm thinking it's because I didn't install the lighting module? Correct me if I am wrong though.
