posted a message on An Actually Thought Out Spike Block Post
the only problem with this is that it is so extremely, massively overpowered, regardless of how much damage it does.

I would kill for spikes in the game at the moment, especially retractable ones, but they absolutely cannot be cheap to make. Keep in mind that you're talking about a weapon with infinite durability; combining this with a skeleton dungeon, a bucket of water, and some hoppers gives infinite arrows, the retractable one with a solar detector gives infinite zombie flesh outside any village house at night.

A lot of people have been talking about an auto-block breaker, which is also something I would absolutely love (to haters; we already have cobblestone generators, sitting there clicking every 2 seconds to get a piece of cobblestone eats time for no conceivable reason. If you want to build an auto stone generator and/or auto charcoal machine, that should absolutely be possible). But that is just one other reason that it should be expensive as hell to get; preferably you can't craft it at all (like saddles or chain armor), and can only get it from trading or finding it in a stronghold.

posted a message on Pigman Villager Nether Villages
so how will pigmen/zombie pigmen work? will zombie pigmen raid pigman villages? if not, how are zombie pigmen made?

generally I like the idea of nether villages, but it seems there are some inconsistencies to work out, which is why I assume they haven't been put in to begin with

will that keep the first item powered for longer than the subsequent items along the chain?

no, but you also can have an account but never watch videos (like me). I don't think you could get truly accurate statistics but that would be much closer than what he is suggesting.

posted a message on help with a very basic redstone circuit
hi, I am pretty new to working with redstone, and I have a pretty basic question.

I want to connect 3 items, the button closest to the first.

Upon hitting the button, the first item is powered for 6 ticks, after being powered for 1 tick the second item is powered for 4 ticks, and one tick after that the third item is powered for 2 ticks (so that one becomes depowered, followed by the second, followed by the first).

So basically if I were doing it with three stacked sticky pistons, the bottom powers, pushing the top two, the second powers pushing the top, and then the top extends, and then they all retract in reverse order.

    How can I do this?

posted a message on Abandoned Villages
I like this idea, but there could be more to it.

I would love to see genuine ruins. It would take the average team of 5 builders in survival less than an hour to construct the average current village from scratch, while it would take the average team of 5 builders days or weeks to build the average abandoned mineshaft/stronghold from scratch.

It always seemed to me that the current villagers are survivors of some cataclysm that destroyed civilization, and I think it is a pain to find moss/cracked bricks as it is.

So I would like the abandoned villages to be build of stone brick, cracked stoned brick, and mossy stone brick, with patches of carpet inside the homes, and the roads made of cobblestone and moss stone. While they could have the same quality treasure as a jungle temple or desert temple, having a monster spawner on the surface that you can find easily would defeat the point of dungeons, so I don't think thats a good idea.

Having them populated by zombies would be a good addition, with creeper holes as well. Pretty much exactly what the OP has, but made of the bricks/cobblestone instead of normal village stuff

Thats a pretty fair point, but thats a killer obsidian idea. Maybe break obsidian into 9 pieces, and craft 1 per fencepost to get a spiked fence?

In theory it would also be cool to use the shards to make arrows, but with bow enchantments that would be too overpowered. Its just that obsidian is already used in pretty much everything magical, so its weird that it has so little uses in and of itself.

why are you counting the total number of people on the planet compared to the total youtube users? For it to be a valid comparison you would need to compare his followers against the total number of people who play minecraft and have an active youtube account, silly.

And again, I would like to see a shift in The End after the enderdragon is defeated. Transforming "The End" to "The Sky" would be pretty cool, in my opinion.

yea, I would say that is the biggest advantage of the xbox minecraft; the speed actually lets you get around via minecraft in a quick-ish fashion.

If you put in all the time and effort into building a rail network, I don't see why it should force you to slow down. That is just making the game more tedious for the sake of making it more tedious.

if herobrine were put in the game, it would have to either be or look like a glitch. Thats the problem with it; everyone who knows how can see the game code, and the whole point of it is that he's supposed to be an unintentionally programmed "ghost". Trying to hide him in the code to keep the mysticism alive would be borderine impossible from what I know about coding, and even then it would be found out eventually and ruined.

Baby zombies need to be reworked into something else, or removed completely.
I guess they run up to the water's edge when you jump in, but if you break the block under them they are hit by the water and then will ignore you.

Of course its easier to just kill them from just inside the pond and take their ender pearl, but if you just want to escape that works. You could also dump a bucket of water on yourself (I usually carry one in case I catch fire), which will hit the pursuer and case him to flee as well.

This would be terrible for pretty much anything except adventure mode. Needing the redstone wiring is a vital part of having redstone mechanisms, making it any easier would make the contraptions much too simple.

I support this, but it could only be implemented with "large biomes", or at least "bigger biomes". It would make the game much prettier

What was (or more correctly wasn't) in GTA:San Andreas?
there's quite a few actually. UFO's have been repeatedly mentioned but I don't know if they were ever confirmed, another frequent one was empty cars chasing you around particular mountains.

The second one was confirmed to exist as a coding fault; there were supposed to be roads somewhere but they were removed, and another something said no people were supposed to spawn in that area, so empty cars spawned at the sides of the mountains and rolled down towards the players under certain conditions.

I think 4j studios removed herobrine but I'm not sure
