Speak for yourself. I know what I've seen.

How about making sharks passive mobs that avoid the player?

posted a message on Ability to change block placement speed

No, not creative building or flying. This is pure survival.

What happens is I'm walking sideways, holding "place" while walking along a row. If I have no speed, every few blocks it double-places (so if I'm working on a ceiling above, it means it places the block on top of the block I previously set, instead of next to it). If I have speed 1, it skips 1 every 10 blocks or so.

A more clear demonstration of what I mean would be replanting a farm while holding "place" - if you have a speed 1 beacon while walking and holding replant, you'll skip 1 every 10 farm plots (but this isn't an issue for no speed beacon, since you can't double-replant crops).

A better solution would be some way to adjust my walk speed as a percentage of the maxmium, then I could set up a speed 1 beacon, but limit my walking speed to 90%. That would also solve the ticks issue.

posted a message on [Proposal] Custom Enchantments and Enchantment Tags

This seems like something extremely heavy to work with. I like the idea, but it seems to just invite server operators to destroy vanilla balancing because users whine too much about wanting mending and infinity on their bow.

It just feels like opening Pandora's Box

    posted a message on Seasons.

Seasons would be fine if it were purely cosmetic - as someone mentioned above, just something you can toggle client-side in your settings (like clouds, fancy graphics, ect).

My biggest worry is winter with snow- this would cause water to freeze, destroying oceans, farms, and tons of builds.

Season impact would also be biome-specific. For example, plains and forests would get it, but mesas and deserts wouldn't (basically using the existing "climate" mechanics).

I think the best-case scenario would basically 4 built-in texture packs that swap at midnight every 16-30 system days, which can be turned on or off for each user.

No, this is a bad idea. Most of my rail systems are used to move items, not people, and this would make it impossible.

posted a message on Ability to change block placement speed

I'm not sure if I agree with the OP, but I do agree with the idea of slightly customizing your block placement speed.

My use case is when I'm building a floor or ceiling - if I use the regular walk speed while holding down "place", every ~10 blocks I'll get a double placement (so instead of a nice long row 1 block thick, I'll have 9 blocks 1 block thick, and the 10th will be 2 thick).

Putting up a speed 1 beacon gives the opposite, where I move slightly too fast (so it skips the 10th block instead of doubling the 9th). This is only frustrating on extremely large builds, but annoying nonetheless.

posted a message on Ghost Mob Suggestion!

The sounds and effects sound kind of interesting, but moving around blocks would be infuriating. I can't think of any mechanic that would make sense even for the sounds though.

posted a message on Buff Impaling

I think making Impaling apply to all mobs would be a good idea. However, the Impaling V trident throw needs to be weaker than Sharpness 4 diamond sword or Power 4 bow to keep things balanced.

posted a message on Modernize 9 year old village design "Solved"

If you start messing with villages too much, it will kind of hurt some of the player-build villages that are out there. I've been working on my server for over a year to build a massive village in the end, with over a thousand population, districts with different building styles, and a huge library where we put librarians with interesting enchantments.

Updating the mechanics of how they naturally generate is all well and good, but don't go too crazy with over-specialization.

    Quote from MikeyQ»

I just thought of something, maybe there is an option to make a modded version of the server (i only request one mod) in addition to the regular server, the mod that i thought of is the "Chisel and Bits" mod that has the option to cut pixels from blocks, to make more design ideas. i think it doesn't ruin the vanilla feeling, just improve it and i would appreciate if it will be considered or even accepted.

heres a good example of what "Chisel and Bits" builds can be

No, we aren't running a modded server. If a user can't connect with a regular vanilla client, we don't want to implement it.

posted a message on MinecraftLovers - Survival With A Twist (8th Anniversary!!

Halloween is here, and so is our 2018 Halloween Event!

From October 21 – 31, you will notice some spooky, scary changes across the server!

This is a PVP Event – Running For 10 Days

Something is in the air causing players to see the red mist – for the duration of the event, killing another player will drop their head!

However, players won’t stay dead for long – getting killed will NOT drop your inventory, and you will find yourself risen in the new MineCraftLovers Graveyard (built by our October build contest winner, Buncat)!

Our scoreboard is also getting a change – instead of your own deaths, we are now tracking how many players you’ve killed! The player with the most kills at the end of Halloween will win our Killer Prize Pack.

You can find more details on our website:

posted a message on Reclaim Leather

regardless of all the discussion about how hard it is to get leather, this is a really good idea.

I like the idea of combining all the damaged leather armor from zombies, then crafting it back into one piece of leather.

posted a message on Splash Potion Grenade

Well you can already have a splash potion of harming, which is effectively the same thing.

Real-life grenades don't catch things on fire, they fragment into shrapnel to do damage. I guess a better suggestion would be to add a splash potion of burning, which catches the target on fire. I would propose using a Fire Charge as the brewing ingredient, if that were the case.
