I'm out travelling today and tomorrow, but so far I've seen a ton of player skulls flying (especially my own)

posted a message on Question about PC versions

If you want mods and texture packs, go with Java. The multiplayer community is also a LOT bigger on Java.

If you want fastert updates, Bedrock. But both versions have everything.

posted a message on Pipes and isolated wires

Thats no good, with dust you can tell by looking at it. I don't see why "wires" are better than just throwing down repeaters if you want an uninterrupted signal, except faster (which is currently the tradeoff between using a dust wire or repeaters)

posted a message on Pipes and isolated wires

I like the idea of pipes, but not wires. Redstone isn't "electricity".

I also think it hurts redstone design, even if it would allow some miniaturization. These "isolated wires" make signal conductivity too hard to trace through and debug, which will make it harder for new tinkerers to really "get" redstone.

posted a message on 3-way and 4-way rails

If this was an "optional" junction, then sure (like rail in an X shape). But it would still need some sort of fallback for non-player carts on it.

What happens with it if a minecart with a chest hits the junction? Stops then automatically powered straight? What if there's no rail straight ahead, but only left/right?

posted a message on I need to reset chunks in a 1.13 world, Anyone know a solution other than World Edit?

Less, send a message on these forums to a guy named Lazini. He makes a tool that can be used to delete unbuilt chunks in a world using a whitelist (check for torches over y=20, redstone repeaters anywhere, ect).

I believe he just updated it to 1.13

posted a message on Minecraft host question

Ditto - don't pay a year in advance. I've been running my server with hosthorde for about 3 years straight - I'm happy with them, but I'm not going to do more than month-to-month because that prevents you from ever complaining.

posted a message on Can anyone help me identify the source of this image?

The textures look super old. My reverse image search only gave results to spam SEO pages, so this image was ripped from somewhere a looooong time ago and passed around the internet. I don't think you'll be able to find the source

I was under the impression that all the songs that were removed were done so due to copyright restrictions

Oh - thread update! I slimmed down the OP and moved most of the content to the website.

We will be having more events moving forward, as we're getting more and more active members! We are also starting a newsletter, which is a great way to keep informed when new events are launching.

posted a message on 'Wrap' Minecraft Worlds

Currently, to get to a single world border, a player would need to sprint, unobstructed, for 70 real-world days. To get back to where they started in a wrapping world, it would take another 70 days (140 total days, or almost half a real-life year).

Working on a server with other people, the biggest build I've ever seen is about 1200 blocks across at its widest (I'm sure others exist, but not anywhere I've played). Looking at just pure railroads going out in one direction, the longest I've seen is about 70,000 blocks long and took about 2 years to build (about 1/430 the way to one edge of the world).

There just isn't any benefit of making this change because practically speaking, the world already is infinite. Unless you purposely teleport to the world edge, there is no way you would ever, ever see it.

Now your separate idea of limiting world size, then doing the mirror-effect is different - this would effectively let players work on a tiny "planet". But this wouldn't work with things like biome and terrain generation, since all of that would have to smoothly "loop" too.

posted a message on How do you organize your items?

Redstone auto-sorter, divided into wings that I can expand as more items get added. I hate sorting through chests.

posted a message on Updates that Mojang needs to consider

Re: Shields: I don't like any solution that bases in "make it more expensive".

Re: "you can turn it off": no you can't. If you play multiplayer, these changes impact everyone on it.

General balance-wise, I think the combat update is fine. I haven't seen any complaints from new players saying it was hard to get used to
