posted a message on New idea about changing the TNT crafting recipe

The gunpowder is the hard part of crafting TNT, not the sand. With an efficiency 4 shovel and a desert, you can fill an inventory of sand in about 5 minutes.

I don't see any advantage of making sand renewable for the sake of TNT. TNT itself is basically a mix of explosive and sand (to stabilize the explosive), so I think the current recipe makes more sense than the proposal.

posted a message on Rethinking minecart rails system

As someone who does a TON of rail stuff, I like some of what you're selling but not all of it.

Forcing rails in the direction you're facing makes some sense at first, but then there is no mechanic to put in turns. Turns only work now because tracks "watch" the rails around them and orient accordingly. Laying 1 set of tracks down before the other is not perfect, but its a workable compromise.

Programmatic intersections are always the hardest to figure out. They can be a bit unpredictable when planning them out, but I think your "ask" would make them more unpredictable in practice.

Case in point: if you have 2 sets of tracks intersecting, even with "wrenched" intersections it won't ever be consistent. There will always be some tracks that won't connect, and there is no direct way to wire redstone to it.

For minecarts acting weird in turns, this is because they are bigger than one block. This means when a minecart goes over a turn, instead of hitting the 3 involved, it seems to "touch" at least 5. This triggers detectors, causes hoppers to suck/pull, ect. The obvious solution, which I fully support, is shrinking them to 1 block. Not sure how that would look though, and it would probably break detector rails connected to powered rails (which I think actually rely on this mechanic).

I absolutely don't want curved special rails. I specifically use activator rails in many places where I want to keep the rails straight.

For other special rail types, I would need to see some examples. There's pretty good interactivity already between detector rails, comparators, hoppers, redstone, ect. The best "special rail" I could think of would just be letting me stack minecarts, and make furnace carts faster than powered rails.

but how could I get my cart and ox up a spiral staircase? This doesn't seem to consider village mechanics at all!

This seems really OP. I don't really think its necessary or will provide significant benefit.

posted a message on Witches should be reclassified as illagers

I think witches aren't illagers. You can create a witch by striking a villager with lightening. I consider themselves specific outcasts of the existing villager who turned bad, not the same as the illagers who seem to have their own societal structure going on.

posted a message on Should potion (and saddle?) be stackable?

You're forgetting about PVP in multiplayer. Stackable potions is game-breaking.

Saddles, on the other hand, I would love to be stackable. They aren't used in bulk, but I will often find a couple during long mining expeditions and would prefer to keep them without sacrificing 128 other blocks.

More to the point, I think soup/stew SHOULD be stackable, even though its not mentioned by the OP.

posted a message on Make the world feel more alive -- Land Ownership

Back to the topic at hand, this is not a good feature.

It exists as plugins in multiplayer on spigot/bukkit/sponge servers, but its completely "world-breaking" if you ask me. The whole point of minecraft is you can do anything anywhere at any time.

    Quote from MikeyQ»

I've got an idea for a suggestion which is making an additional server for snapshots and the latest version in general.

Because there is not such server like mclovers. and there are no good servers with snapshots.

I want the community to grow so there will be more players that will enjoy it,

and I think its a good idea because it could bring more players that want to experience the updates together with others like me.

And it will keep the vanilla feel to the server if it will be accepted.

    what do you think?

I don't want to pay for a second server, and I don't want to split the active players between snapshots and spigot. I also don't want to have to import builds again from another beta world.

    The kelp farm is finished!

I need to do some testing to find its final output - now to optimize the furnace itself!

Sorry, yes - you can go up to 15 deep for the building, 5 deep for landscaping.

Your shop also needs to be functional - it will still be your shop once it moves to spawn, so you need to be selling something.

And since all entries are going to spawn anyway, feel free to start building there too!
