I'd recommend at least 3GB assigned. My Minecraft sits at around 2.5GB when using 512x512 textures and I assign 4GB of RAM, so:
---
512x512 Texture/Resource Pack Requirements:
Minimum Required: 3GB (3072MB)
Recommended: 4GB (4096MB)
---
Make sure to not ever assign more than 3/4 of installed RAM as that can cause the computer to lock up (eg. If you have 8GB of RAM, don't ever assign more than 6GB, and even with 3/4 of RAM assigned, you will need to close down background programs to ensure no lock-up occurs)
Here is my Minecraft RAM usage when using R3D 512x on a single player map, btw:
Do you mean something like McMyAdmin or Multicraft?
There aren't any free ones that im aware of.
Have been looking at the suggested and, yes, that is sort of what I am looking for. would like one that connects to my existing server and just lets me edit my files via a text editor, not any trendy easy to use stuff. I'm old fashioned, you see . Will definately look into the McMyAdmin and Multicraft, just not now: It is 2:30am in my time zone T.T
Hi,
I currently have a private server running on my old PC. Is there any server management programs I can install on the server to monitor how it is going, file management, RAM & CPU usage, Console view, etc.?
A good example is TCADMIN.
I would like something that is identical to the "Game Servers" option in TCADMIN.
EDIT!!: Wow I am an absolute idiot! I put WorldEdit into the root of minecraft.jar instead of /bin. (i think you need to make that more clear, or mabye i am just an idiot and dont -.-)
Everything works except world edit. Here is a log of where minecraft has an error:
This may be because on the 1.4 terrain.png, the portals texture is solid blue. All you have to do is remove the portal texture (portal.png, I believe) from your converted pack.
Thanks, will do when i get home
EDIT!: Mc has already updated the official pack. No need for me to
Dinnerbone has released an "unstitcher" tool which converts texture packs into 1.5 format. The format separates each individual block texture into its own file.[1] The "unstitcher" tool can be downloaded at http://assets.minecr.../unstitcher.jar.
Earlier today I was able to connect to servers, join games, etc. But about 10m ago i tried to connect to a server and got an error. Every server i tried to connect to gave me the same error as well. Here is the screenshot with the error, what do i do :

You can try the game servers option by going to: http://gamepanel.cloudcube.com.au/Interface/Base/Login.aspx , using the username and password "demo", logging in and choosing "Game Services".
Thanks for any suggestions :>

Also i applied this mod by adding the zip to the Multimc mods. is there an incompatibility with MultiMC? I also have the following mods installed:
EDIT: Yes i did put WorldEdit.jar in the right place. I also tried this by installing it manually and it still didn't work

EDIT!!!
Here is your texture pack for 1.4 converted to 1.5!!! (Has been tested with the Snapshot version anyway!)
Screenshots (Proof)!:
All Screenshots are here: http://tinyurl.com/a8rktvm

Both links redirect to Mediafire!
Bugs :
Nether Portals come up as a static blue colour: This is happening with all 1.5 Texture packs I have tested anyway:
I used Unstitcher to convert this pack BTW!
